Ep71: How to Thrive as a Stepmom with Cameron Normand
In this episode, Amy sits down with Cameron Normand, CEO of Step Family Solutions and host of the Stepmom Diaries podcast, to unpack the often overlooked reality of stepfamily life. Cameron shares how becoming a stepmom of four changed everything she thought she knew about parenting, partnership, and control—and why so much traditional parenting advice simply doesn’t fit blended families. Together, they explore the emotional weight stepmoms carry, the “stuck insider vs. stuck outsider” dynamic, loyalty binds, burnout, and the pressure to constantly prove yourself in a role that’s already misunderstood. If you’re a stepmom, stepdad, or anyone supporting a blended family, this conversation offers clarity, validation, and real-world strategies for navigating the hard parts with more grace.
