Over the course of our conversation you will hear us recount the grueling production this movie went through, complete with swamp-induced hypothermia, directorial gag orders and alleged animal cruelty. We also discuss the movie as an allegory of the Vietnam War in direct contravention of what Walter Hill would have liked, the film working as a descendant of Deliverance and an action-slanted progeny of The Hills Have Eyes, how it all reflects perfectly the American foreign policy, how the Cajuns are the real heroes of the movie (according to at least one of the hosts) and how Cajun bluegrass is the kind of music that should come with a health warning.
