We've taken our drunken ramblings from the pub to the studio to teach each other about all kinds of films, TV shows, video games and more. From '80s cartoons to '90s kids shows, action film franchises to cult games, we'll chat about anything remotely geek-related, often with plenty of confusion, bickering and fond nostalgia.

Two Geeks Turns 100!
Wow, we’re old! Yes, somehow we’ve made it to 100 EPISODES. To celebrate our milestone, we’re having something of a celebration and retrospective of the series so far. We also answer some of your questions, sent to us via email and socials. In this special look-back, we discuss our favourite episodes, the one episode Tom is desperate to do but Morgan keeps vetoing, the ‘lost’ episode you’ll never hear because Tom didn’t record it properly, and the origins of the show back in 2015. We also ponder what we might have done differently if we started today, what we’re tempting to change the name of the show to, and our plans for 2022 and beyond. Thanks so much to everyone of you who have ever listened to the show over the past 100 episodes and 6+ years. We love making the show and love hearing from you, it always means a heck of a lot!

Street Fighter
30 years on, Morgan teaches Tom all about the Street Fighter franchise, particularly one of his favourite games growing up, the groundbreaking Street Fighter II. It’s now hailed as one of the greatest video games of all time, inspiring copycats like Mortal Kombat and the combat mechanics in games like Streets of Rage 2. In the episode, Tom shows his lack of geek cred by describing combos as ‘routines’ (and has a biting controller problem), the boys ponder why the characters feel the need to shout out their signature move, and we look at how a certain typo led to a cult figure. Face/Off
“A peach. I could eat a peach for hours.” This time, Tom is heading back to 1997 to teach Morgan all about the ridiculous-yet-brilliant John Woo action film, Face/Off. And as Johnny Depp discovered, it’s not an ice hockey movie. We delve into the madness of the John Travolta and Nicolas Cage vehicle, and how it was originally meant to be set in the future in the style of Demolition Man. In the episode, we ponder the cosmetic dilemmas regarding doing such a body swap in real life (do you keep the abs? What about the penis?), we find out the other pairs of actors who almost took it on, and look ahead to an upcoming sequel. In what is what Morgan described as one of our silliest episodes yet, we also hear some cracking Harrison Ford and Al Pacino impressions and discover real-life procedures that blow our minds. Transformers G1
This time, Morgan is tackling Transformers – a vast media franchise that encompasses toys, comics, live-action movies. But he wanted to look into just his Transformers, the Generation 1 animated series from 1984. However, it soon proved that even when just taking one element of the Transformers universe, it wasn’t exactly a quick history lesson. In the episode, Morgan teaches Tom all about how the show was created to sell toys, its cast of colourful characters including Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, and its tremendous voice cast led by Peter Cullen. We also discuss the series’ harrowing movie, pottymouth moments, and why its bonkers that huge Transformers can turn into tiny handguns and cassette recorders. Tom also marvels at the musical might of Stan Bush, Morgan remembers his Flump-buying days at the local VHS rental shop, and we shudder at Optimus Prime saying “my bad” in the Michael Bay movie. Dinosaurs
For this episode, Tom teaches Morgan about the surprisingly-brilliant ’90s sitcom Dinosaurs, which probably shouldn’t have worked on paper. Dinosaurs was one in a string of odd sci-fi/fantasy-based sitcoms that did the business back in the ’80s and ’90s, alongside the likes of Harry and the Hendersons and 3rd Rock from the Sun. Co-created by the late Jim Henson, the Simpsons-style sitcom followed Earl and his family, with Baby ‘Not the Momma’ becoming its breakout star. Gotta love me! In the episode, we look back at his harrowing finale episode, hear about how they almost teamed up with the Turtles, and how Tom’s admiration of ‘cool’ Robbie reminded Morgan of Rudedog and the Dweebs. We also pay tribute to Dinosaurs voice star Jessica Walter, who sadly passed away on the day of recording the episode. Big Trouble in Little China
This is Two Geeks, Two Beers and we’re talking to whoever’s listening out there… we’re a couple of reasonable guys, who’ve just experienced some very unreasonable things. For this episode, Morgan is teaching Tom all about… Big Trouble in Little China! We were both fans of this film growing up, and Morgan realised while researching the episode that it’s actually one of his all-time favourites to this day! Starring Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall and directed by John Carpenter, the 1986 film had everything: romance, comedy, martial arts, action and fantasy. It had a fantastic cast, including brilliant supporting roles Dennis Dun, James Hong and Victor Wong. This podcast episode sees us go off on tangents about the 3 Ninjas franchise and the bonkers film Buckaroo Banzai. Plus, we look back on Big Trouble’s rival film The Golden Child starring Eddie Murphy. Morgan also comes up with a new phrase about questionable film facts called ‘IMDBatable’. And he isn’t sure about Tom’s choice of Seann William Scott taking over from Kurt Russell in a potential sequel. Crappy Consoles
In this episode, Tom takes Morgan through a history of the world’s strangest and worst video game consoles. We previously discussed the well-received but sadly maligned Sega Dreamcast, and the brilliance of the Sega Megadrive, but what about the consoles that were just… nope. As well as a few honourable mentions, we discuss at length three ‘classic’ consoles: the VHS-powered Action Max, the Nintendo Virtual Boy and the downright bonkers Coleco Telstar Arcade. We also discover how Tom was about 20 years behind the curve with video games, and Morgan’s strange history with Eiffel 65.

Aquila
For this episode, we’ll be digging up something of a forgotten treasure from years gone by and uncovering the secrets of… Aquila! Aquila was a much-loved 1990s CBBC sci-fi series that only ran for two seasons, but it left a longlasting impression on us all these years later. In case you don’t know the show (which is quite likely if you weren’t aged between 10 and 14 in 1997 and lived in the UK), Aquila follows the adventures of the brilliantly-named Tom and Geoff, who discover a mysterious spaceship. The ship, Aquila, is capable of pretty much anything, and the boys soon head off on incredible journeys through time and space. Oooh… In the episode, we ponder what we would have done with such a ship when we were kids, whether it had TikTok and Instagram and they didn’t know it, and recalled moments of being bullied by kids far younger than us at school.

Pogs
Remember Pogs? The mere mention of them will either be met with utter confusion or pure nostalgic joy. Pogs were arguably the biggest fad of all time, but if you were a kid in the period of 1993-1997, then you most likely had your own collection of these things (unless of course, you’re Morgan living in Cornwall, apparently). In this episode, Tom takes Morgan through a history of the short-lived ’90s craze. We look back at Pog history, the rules of the game, what went wrong, and why it was banned from school playgrounds everywhere. We also remember the many Pog-knockoffs, including Slammer Whammers and Tazos. Tom also recalls a story from his youth that he’s not proud of, that he’s never told before…

The Rocketeer
This time, Morgan teaches Tom all about one of his favourite films as a kid: 1991’s The Rocketeer! We look back at the underrated Disney adventure movie starring Billy Campbell, Jennifer Connelly, and hamming it up to the nines, Timothy Dalton. Morgan realises he’s been pronouncing main character Cliff Secord’s name wrong for nearly 30 years, and we get fascinated by a forgotten romcom which beat it at the box office. Tom also gets rather confused by a new Disney cartoon sequel. We also get sidetracked by the Trancers film franchise starring a surprising Oscar-winner. In classic Two Geeks style, it wasn’t a box office success but went on to gain a cult following!
