Victoria Scott & Jordan Hoffstetter

A show about car culture and living during the decline of empire from millennials who have never known anything else, with a dash of photography on the side. Hosted by Jordan Hoffstetter and Victoria Scott, a pair of (former!) automotive journalists and (current!) trans women. If you like cars but also hate what mandatory car ownership has done to the landscape of America, this is probably for you!

Episode 29: IT'S A JEEP THING AND I SEEK TO UNDERSTAND [with Guest Cora Goodwin]

Hello! On this episode, the girls are joined by their friend Cora Goodwin (who you can find nowadays on Instagram), who basically invented half the car culture the two of them grew up with. (You might remember Cora from the Zero Fucks Given RX-7 or the Turbo Trolls-Royce builds if you liked Matt Farah as a teenager and you're about the girls' ages). The girls had written notes but rapidly threw them out the window as the conversation took on a life of its own. (Victoria's Note: For the geopolitics sickos, next week's episode will be a return to form.) The discussion (roughly) covers the Focus ST, Civic Si, VICTORIA'S FIRST CAR IN YEARS, HER NEW JEEP [air horn sounds dot wav], being transgender and figuring out your deal, the Morgan Aero 8, hydrogen-powered cars, and how to help your community. It was meandering. Anyway, check out these sick-ass pics of Vicki and her new Jeep taken by Friend Of The Show and photographer Sula Griggs: (Victoria's Note: Thank you all for your support, this Jeep is pretty much possible because of this Patreon. I will be relentlessly talking about what I'm going to do with and to it in the near future on the show and I promise I will use having a vehicle to do as much good as I can!) As always, our opening theme is off Horse Tranquilizer Simulator by Stella Spazzatura and our editor is the fantastic Alex/Harmful Park, who you should hire to edit your show, too!

Episode 28: 9/11 Comes Earlier Every Year [with Guest Rob Zacny]

Hello! This week the girls are joined by Rob Zacny, cofounder of Remap Radio, host of Star Wars podcast A More Civilized Age, and panelist on F1 podcast Shift+F1! The girls had a bunch of notes written out but immediately got distracted for almost three hours. Sorry about that. We discuss Mazda, the catfish Chevrolet Camaro, living at a race track, generational trauma of The Sports Car You Missed Out On, revving for 9/11, the narrative complexity of Codemasters' F1 series, getting your wife to sim-race, Dire Straits, Our opening theme as always is off the album Horse Tranquilizer Simulator by Stella Spazzatura and thank you as always to our wonderful editor Alex (@nohopeoverkill.com on Bsky)! Referenced Stories: Pedestrian Safety by Victoria @Motor1.com Car Bloat by Victoria @The Drive The girls actually didn't really have any sources for this episode because it's like three hours of riffs.

Episode 27: Penske Purgatory AKA The Freedom 250

Howdy everyone! We did it, we recorded our final thoughts on the Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington D.C. This episode is fully focused on the race, our experiences at it, and how we sorted through our feelings in the days afterwards. We want to welcome all of our new listeners who found us through Youtube or our threads on Bluesky about our time on the ground, and we once again want to thank all of our Patrons as we literally couldn't have done this without y'all. I also want to thank everyone who came out to our meetup Saturday night, as it was maybe the one redeeming part of the whole weekend! As always, our opening theme is off Stella Spazzatura's Horse Tranquilizer Simulator, and our editor (who you should hire!!!!) is Alex aka Harmful Park!

[PREVIEW] 2 Tran 2 Girlismo: A Movie Commentary Bonus Episode

Howdy howdy! The other thing we recorded together in D.C. during our trip to the Freedom 250 was our second movie commentary for the Fast and Furious franchise! The girls crowded around Jordan's laptop in their hotel room, cracked some modelos, and buckled into John Singleton's 2 Fast 2 Furious, a movie we both liked a whole lot actually! This one is really silly goofy fun, so I think you'll have fun. We watched on Netflix, so sync us up to 0.00 on Netflix, or just understand that we might be a few seconds fast or slow for you. I think next month the aim is to do another listener questions bonus, but who knows, maybe we watch Tokyo Drift together instead. Thanks again for all the support patrons, without it we literally couldn't have done this trip. Look forward to the full report on our thoughts on the next mainline episode, and remember that our merch store is open for preorders until the end of the month!

Tran Girlismo: Live From D.C. Emergency Minisode

Hi folks! We survived! Just after the Freedom 250, Victoria, Jordan, and their wives all gathered and recorded their thoughts on the race in the immediate aftermath of the race. While we filmed this for the YouTube channel Youtube.com/@trangirlismo we wanted to put this up on the audio only feed as well, just to make sure no one misses it. Audio quality is gonna be a bit weird since it was recorded off a shotgun microphone, but it was worth it to get this out ASAP Spoilers? It sucked! For mostly completely avoidable reasons! Further thoughts, a full rundown of our weekend, and more on this week's full episode.

    Episode 26: Now With 100% More D&B

Hello! In this episode, Jordan discusses driving her new Corvette (spoilers: it's good)! Then she explains that she watched some Throttle House, and dissects where her tepid optimism for the newest reboot of Top Gear with those guys running it. Then it's time for a rare Jordan Angry Episode, as the girls dive into the failures of the W Series and F1 Academy to produce literally any meaningful advancement for women in racing at all, on the heels of Maya Weug's public posts about her career's dead-end. Finally, Victoria tried Wreckfest 2 Early Access because her wife refurbished her computer. Unfortunately, it's not what she was hoping for, and she's not sure it's going to get fixed. Victoria would like to apologize for her audio being a bit off; she has no clue why the gain got changed on her mic after her computer was refurbished, and she tried repeatedly to fix it but could not. She will fix it next week! As always, our opening theme is off Stella Spazzatura's Horse Tranquilizer Simulator, and our editor (who you should hire!!!!) is Alex aka Harmful Park! BIG ENORMOUS NOTE: IF YOU ARE IN WASHINGTON D.C. AND WOULD LIKE TO HANG OUT THIS WEEKEND, THE GIRLS WILL BE AT AS YOU ARE (THE GAY BAR) AT 8 PM EASTERN TIME ON SATURDAY, 8/22/26. Episode 25: We Gotta Give The Government Acronym Guys A Raise

Hello! In this episode of Tran Girlismo, Victoria goes Wonk Mode, as it is her natural response to environmental stressors such as wildfire smoke and extreme heat that was gripping the state of Washington last week. First: What's The Deal With The Strategic Petroleum Reserve, amirite folks? No but seriously we're running out of oil to pull from it, it turns out, and the impact on the oil market will be... almost certainly not good. Next, Victoria explains that if you do nothing but deplete war materiel for four straight years, you eventually run out of war materiel. Then you gotta buy more. It turns out that every American car company (but especially GM), fresh out of ideas about how to make cars, wants to get in on that sweet, sweet gravy train, probably at the expense of any of us ever being able to afford a car again. (Victoria apologizes for making this episode a little TrashFuture-y but she just guested and she had a lot of fun so it felt like a good way to take it.) Finally, and by far the most fun, JORDAN. ANNOUNCES. HER. NEW. FUN. CAR. It is not exactly congruent with the material conditions of America but hey a girl's gotta have a little hope, right? The Girls Watch Fast and Furious, a Patreon Preview

Hi folks! No new episode this week so the girls (and Alex!) could have a week off and take care of some stuff. But, I figured what better time to bring maybe my favorite of our bonus episodes in front of the paywall as a little showcase of what we do for those folks who don't subscribe! This is a movie commentary track, so you will need to source your own copy of The Fast and Furious, and I think it's a goofy good time! So, if you're a free subscriber, enjoy, and I hope you take a chance on supporting us. Love y'all, thanks for a crazy six months!

    Episode 24: Transsexual C-Span

Hi folks! Jordan here giving you your weekly dose of Gay Girl John Oliver, so the notes are gonna be a bit light this week! I had a slightly updated audio setup this week, so I am hoping any audio issues are in the past now! Thanks for being patient with us! This week we talk about: The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, and it's many wonders and pleasures. Long story short, you all should go to Pittsburgh, it's great. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/us-senate-panel-approves-bill-crack-down-chinese-vehicles-2026-07-22/ We also talk about the US senate trying to explode the auto industry (again) and we delve into the identity politics of your average used car salesman. And then we finish stuff off with a dose of racing news, that is also somehow still America's fault! Thanks to The War™ the WEC is altering its schedule for the second time this year! https://www.dailysportscar.com/2026/07/13/wec-season-set-to-finish-in-europe-as-middle-east-conflict-continues.html As always, our opening theme is off Stella Spazzatura's Horse Tranquilizer Simulator. Episode 23: H.M.S. Chudnought

Hello! In this episode of Tran Girlismo, the girls dig into the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 promotional tie-in Aston Martin Dreadnought and how much the two of them cannot stand it. Then Jordan put herself through listening to Donald Trump ramble on about the Freedom 250 so we could get an idea of what we're in for come... oh God next month. When the race is held. And we have to go to it. Next up, Victoria dissects the Volkswagen Century of Humiliation, and the girls discuss the Nissan Altima's possible demise. Also, Vicki finished her book, and she has to describe the crashout that only finishing a project that has been a sole obsession for months on end can bring. Episode 22: Empire Bin State Of Mind [With Guest Josh Boerman]

Hello! On this episode of Tran Girlismo, the girls are joined by Josh Boerman of Worst of All Possible Worlds and Ill-Conceived as we support his quest to guest-star on 52 podcasts in a single year. First, the girls and Josh discuss the new-to-America Fiat Topolino, and then we turn to the Special Interest Josh brought along: NEW YAWK, LOVE DA METS, BABEY That's right it's time to talk about DA TRASH, as New York wants to convert street parking into dumpsters instead of letting raw bags of waste bake on the sidewalk, which has rational automobile drivers furious, somehow, Finally, Jordan gives us a rundown on the Freedom Fuel Gas Stations that cropped up all across the United States. Episode 21: Finally, A Pickup Truck For Protestants

Hello! In this episode of Tran Girlismo, we finally dig into the Slate Truck. We both do not like it. Next up, President Deals decides to destroy his own trade deal because we live under textual fascism! Weirdly, we both have complicated feelings about this, because it turns out that global trade and American imperialism are not clear-cut issues. Finally, Jordan explains that Ferrari has invented a Real Fake Manual and Victoria can't decide if it's good or not but it sure is some shit Baudrillard would have soy-pointed at. Episode 20: Fordian — I Mean Freudian — Slip

Hello! In this somehow-we've-recorded-20-episodes twentieth episode, the girls discuss Jordan's immediate EV Struggles on her first road trip in her new-to-her Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV and we immediately digress into the economy of Sandusky, Ohio. First off, Porsche isn't selling us their prettiest car anymore. Then, Lucid loses thousands more workers after losing a billion dollars. Seems bad! Then Ford introduces their new ST Sinister package (bad. very bad) and shows off their new EV truck (good?) and the girls continue to digress. Very digression-heavy episode. Vicki admits she doesn't like Subarus, also, so she is prepared for her lesbian audience to throw stale vegetables at her. Episode 19: It's Not WWII Anymore But Mitsubishi Is Still A Zero

Hello and welcome to episode 19 of Tran Girlismo! On this episode, the girls briefly recap Jordan's trip to New York (DA KNICKS BABEEEEEY, congrats to the NY dolls in the audience). Then we get into the meat of the American Century of Humiliation: Cox Automotive has new data on the used EV market, and Experian has new data on the new EV market, and we're fucked, baby. Then we discuss Mitsubishi, which has humiliated itself anew with the Nissan Leaf II, aka another miserable chapter in the continued degradation of the Eclipse name. Then we discuss the miserable state of the racing game market as Victoria tries to find her own BDS-compliant Forza Horizon replacement. Finally, Jordan regales her Amtrak experiences. Hello! On this episode of Tran Girlismo, Jordan calls in from DA BIG APPLE BABY, which means our audio isn't quite as good as normal. Apologies in advance! We discuss the success of Jordan's art show and Victoria's photowalk; thank you to the incredible people of Pittsburgh and Seattle, the Transgender Paris and New York City of America, respectively (not to be confused with New York City, the Transgender Istanbul of America). We then discuss one of the greatest Seattle Moments in recent memory, where someone drove their Mazda CX-5 so far down the Link light rail in Seattle they got stuck inside a station. If you're listening and that was you: Please stop driving! Forever! Next, we discuss Robby Starbuck's attempt to get Harley Davidson considered "woke" for the second time, and Victoria explains her disillusionment with pinkwashing after experiencing it up close. Episode 17: Stellantis Constructs A Footgun To Surpass Metal Gear

Hello! On this OVER TWO HOUR episode of Tran Girlismo, we catch up on some weeks where decades happened. First, we give an earnest rest in peace to Kyle Busch, one of the greatest drivers of all time, who died suddenly at the age of 41 a few weeks back. (Victoria references a eulogy you should really read, and it's here on Road & Track, from Alanis King. It's genuinely beautiful.) After that, we have good news finally: Jordan gets a new car!!! And it's electric!!! Hormuz who??? Then we discuss the most bitter contentious topic we've tackled yet: The Ferrari Luce. Is it a horrendous abomination against man and God, or is it fine actually? Finally, we discussed the Ram Rumble Bee, the 777 HP pickup truck launched when The Banks Are Out Of Oil, thickening our shoot-on-sight file at Stellantis HQ. Thank you for listening! Shirts and stickers should be arriving in peoples' hands throughout the week, and we will be opening another round of orders in the very near future if you missed out! [PREVIEW] BONUS Ep 4: Ford v. Ferrari (2019)

Hello! On this bonus episode, Victoria and Jordan have watched Ford v. Ferrari (2019) and here to break it down for y'all on what we thought of it. This is not a commentary track; ideally, you can listen to this without ever having seen the movie and still sort of get an idea of what the movie is and what we think of it (imagine our friends over at Be Gay Solve Crime or Kill James Bond!) As an aside, for our own workload and sanity, we are switching the format to four total episodes per month - i.e., this bonus episode takes the place of this week's main episode. Having burnt out before with other creative projects, we're both trying to avoid doing that with this one, and one episode a week is much more sustainable for us for both recording and editing. We will be back next week with a free episode about Everything That Has Happened!

Episode 16: Oh My God The Banks Are Out Of Oil

Hello and a heads up for the start of this episode: We discuss the recent murder of Seattle resident, UW student, and trans woman Juniper Blessing. We recorded this episode the day after her name was announced, and we were both extremely distraught. We discuss the ridiculous cruelty of her death and the general sadness of living as a trans person in the modern American world. If you find this triggering and upsetting and would like to skip it (which trust me, I get it if you do), the mainline episode begins at 7:58. Today, in the actual episode, Jordan and Vicki go to the bank and take all their oil out, because the banks are out of Group III Base Oils!!! (Victoria does indeed go John Oliver mode again about base oils btw, hope y'all enjoy that.) Then, Jordan describes a perfect car which is totally illegal to buy (thanks to one weird trick Hyundai DOESN'T want you to KNOW). Then we discuss the fact that we all live in the Fast and Furious Cinematic Universe, forever, as NBC is making like four shows. Maybe. Who knows anymore tbh.
