The Twenties Detox

Bianca Venchiarutti

Your 20s weren't supposed to feel this disorienting, but half the beliefs driving your decisions aren't even yours.

The Twenties Detox is a podcast and blog for women in their 20s ready to stop absorbing and start questioning. We unpack the mindsets and myths keeping you stuck and replace them with a life built around your own rhythms, not someone else's timeline.

Growth isn't constant. Some seasons are for building, some for rest, some for starting over. If you're between who you were told to be and who you're becoming, you're in the right place.

Let Me De-Influence You: Why I Stopped Trusting Wellness Gurus

Health is one of the most profitable industries in the world, and that comes with a cost. Most people are aware of the villainization of western medicine and its ties to Big Pharma. But smart entrepreneurs noticed that shift before the rest of us did, and eastern medicine is now facing the same disproportionate focus on profit over people. At the end of the day, no guru, doctor, or wellness specialist knows you better than you know yourself. Now more than ever, we need to become better advocates for our own autonomy when it comes to our health. Disclaimer: this isn't anti-doctor or anti-wellness. It's a reminder that no single product, protocol, or person has the entire answer, because your body, your mind, and your life are too unique for a one-size-fits-all fix. Buckle up, grab a beverage, and let's chat some de-influencing on my couch!! ======================== In this video… 0:00 introduction 3:24 trifecta of success 4:14 miracle marketing 8:57 the consumerism behind modern wellness 10:45 we're over-doing the supplements + medications 14:42 the corruption in both eastern & western medicine 17:07 you NEED to advocate for yourself 19:48 reducing stress should be #1 20:25 final thoughts ======================== how to support me (so I can keep posting!)… 1. Maybe you don't hate your job. Your day is just missing your values. For the longest time I thought I couldn't get excited about my days because I didn't enjoy my work enough. What I actually realized was I wasn't building anything into my week that was connected to my top values. So in this episode, I'm sharing the top 5 things I do after a work day that don't involve my phone (or a TV). Fair warning… please don't copy my routines! How to *Finally* Stop Caring What Other People Think of You

You are not one person. You are your parents' version, your best friend's version, your coworker's version, and none of them fully capture who you are. So why are you spending your entire twenties trying to control something that was never actually controllable? In this episode, I am getting into why we take things so personally, from evolutionary wiring to childhood conditioning to the stories different cultures teach us about our own worth. We are talking about the difference between defending your identity and defending your ego, the blue hair theory, and the LET THEM mindset that changed how I move through the world. This is the detox of finally letting people misunderstand you. This one is for you if you replay conversations for days, if you have ever assumed someone disliked you over one look, or if you are ready to stop managing everyone else's perception of you. in this video… 00:30 introduction 03:33 greece story + we're caring for unlikely reasons 07:37 how this is damaging relationships 09:29 we care because we're trying to protect our identity 10:08 cultural, psychological + environmental factors 12:07 evolutionary factors 13:33 the danger of seeking approval in your 20s 14:43 high school experience + blue hair theory16:60 recap! 18:57 people in your close circle 20:55 life is too precious to live it for others 22:20 next steps! how to support me (so I can keep posting!)… 1. What I’d Beg Every Person in Their 20s to Know About Social Media

For my 100th episode I think it's time that I share the ultimate detox message for our generation. Although it might be painful to admit… maybe our parents were right? Maybe it is our phones. Specifically, social media. If you’ve been listening for a while, you know my complicated relationship with social media. I’ve always felt like a bit of a hypocrite: promoting the podcast and making a living as a social media manager on the very apps that drains me. While there are amazing creators out there, these apps were ultimately built using psychological manipulation. They are no longer just tools for connection; they are engines built to influence and sell to us. In this episode I share my honest thoughts about social media, the psychology of how it’s perpetuating common pain points of feeling “lost” or “behind” in our twenties. I also share some strategies to find a balance with this app (if you’re not convinced to write it off, lol) Lastly, I encourage you to lean into what your gut is telling you while listening to this video. Only *you* will know what your form of balance is. Okay, let's get into it. in this video… 00:00 introduction 02:45 the evolution of instagram 05:35 social media is modern marketing 09:50 the delicacy of our twenties 10:47 yes, it affects our attention span 11:05 mental noise: scrolling is messing up our values & opinions 12:35 it's perpetuating feelings of being "behind" and "lost" 13:45 reflection. how do you consistently feel? 15:10 quick recap 15:38 we can't be bored anymore 16:13 so, why do we keep using it? 20:52 strategies & mindsets to find a balance with social media 26:05 final thoughts how to support me (so I can keep posting!)… 1. I meditated everyday for 1500 days: my 10 biggest lessons

For the last five years, I’ve meditated almost every single day. Although highly requested... I was so intimidated to make this video. It is incredibly hard to put five years of deep, soul-shifting lessons into words without sounding cliché. But so many of you have been asking about my practice, so I wanted to finally sit down and try to extract my biggest lessons. Grab a cup of tea, get comfy, and let’s chat. This is a longer one!! I’m sharing how this daily practice completely saved my mental health, my biggest struggles, and the 10 lessons that changed how I view the world. Whether you’re a total beginner looking for simple mindfulness tips, or you’ve been on a self-improvement journey for years, I hope this helps you let go of the pressure, stop watching the clock, and just reconnect with who you really are. I hope you enjoy!! In this video: 0:00 introduction 2:00 how i learned about meditation 3:30 meditation anchors you in the present 5:40 time is the hindrance 8:30 There is no “success" with meditation 10:48 what to do when your thoughts are racing 13:15 the importance of breathwork 14:13 *why* we have racing thoughts (science) 18:40 meditation puts a pause on the threat system 23:58 how to separate yourself from your thoughts 25:39 You need time to realize you don't need time 26:27 Start with meditation apps. The Summer I Started Aligning with the Sun and Trees | Seasonal Living Series

There was a specific summer where I stopped fighting the season and started actually listening to it. And honestly, everything shifted after that. 🌞 In this episode, I am getting into what it really means to live seasonally, and specifically what summer is asking of you right now. We are talking about Q2 reflections, why summer is actually one of the best times to pivot instead of push harder, how social media can quietly pull you away from your own values if you are not paying attention, and the gardening analogy that completely changed how I think about goals. This episode is part of the Seasonal Living Series, and it might be the most grounding one yet!! This one is for you if you have been feeling a shift in your energy lately and you are not quite sure what to do with it. Listen to this if you get angry easily (there’s a reason)

For the people who get angry easily. See red. Little things might trigger them. You might even feel ashamed afterwards. You’re not alone, this won’t be forever, but there is a REASON behind it. I couldn’t fit a video episode in this week, but didn’t want to leave you hanging!! I have been podcasting for about 3 years now, and although I’ve improved…there’s a few golden episodes in there that didn’t get their spotlight. This episode is one of them. I hope you enjoy! What I'd Beg Every Woman in Her 20s to Know About Morning Routines

Morning routines are still one of the most talked about topics on the internet. And somehow, so many of us are still waking up feeling behind before the day has even started. In this episode, I am sharing everything I wish someone had told myself earlier about building a routine that's *actually* tailored to yourself. We are getting into why copying what you see on social media is quietly working against you, how your routines can start regulating your nervous system instead of adding to your stress, the two morning rituals I keep returning to no matter what season I am in, and why flexibility might actually be what makes a routine hold long term. We are also going into evening rituals, seasonal workouts, and the one values-based question that ties all of it together. This one is for you if you have tried to build a routine a hundred times and it never sticks. If you scroll through "that girl" content and feel more behind than inspired. If you are ready to stop performing your mornings and actually feel them. In this video: 0:00 Introduction 1:30 Influencers and their routines 2:40 The "perfect" routine 5:55 The purpose of routine 7:40 Stop following other people's routines 8:50 Routines for regaining control 10:58 Routines for nervous system regulation 13:03 Morning ritual #1: mindfulness 16:44 Morning ritual #2: joy 21:30 Why your routines don't stick 23:30 Evening rituals: grounding + quality time 25:55 Quarterly workout routines 30:59 Occasional rituals: travelling, social media detoxes, family time 33:16 Knowing your values is the key 34:01 Summary + outro extra goodies: Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetwentiesdetox/ Join The Twenties Detox Newsletter for weekly advice, blog updates, and an exclusive action of the week: https://www.thetwentiesdetox.com/newsletter Grab the Seasonal Workbook, a 40+ page seasonal roadmap to grow without the burnout: https://www.thetwentiesdetox.com/align-with-the-seasons-guide

The Art of Unlearning: How to Rewire Your Beliefs and Unlock Your Inner Power

Unlearning is the work nobody warns you about. You can read every self-help book, do all the right things, and still feel stuck, because sometimes the problem is not what you have not yet learned. It is what you need to let go of first. In this episode, I am walking you through the art of unlearning, what it actually means, why it is one of the most powerful things you can do for your personal growth, and the real practical steps I have used to start rewiring the limiting beliefs that were quietly running my life. We are getting into the role of neuroplasticity, how tools like meditation, affirmations, and journaling can genuinely shift your inner world, and the personal stories that made me realize I had to unlearn before I could truly grow. This is the episode I needed years ago. This one is for you if you have done the inner work and still feel like something is holding you back, if you know something needs to change but cannot quite name what it is, or if you are ready to stop letting old beliefs make decisions for you. 5 Things I'll Never Buy In My 20s To Attract More Abundance (My Anti-Haul)

Hi everyone!! This week we got a bit more... controversial. This week I’m talking about 5 things I would never buy in my twenties to support healthier cashflow, and attract more abundance. Spending/receiving money is very spiritual to me. As a result, I try to spend it carefully, and use it to support my morals and values. A lot of these *things* I would never buy, either give off low spiritual energy to me, or are over-priced for luxury > actual value. disclaimer: this is not to replace financial advice. I recommend listening to this video from start to finish and write down was resonates (what feels like truth to you) what doesn’t, and who to talk to later about it. Okay…let’s dive in! 2 Sobering Truths About Your Soul's Purpose (It Will Finally Let You Breathe)

There's a particular kind of pressure that follows you into your 20s, quiet, heavy, and relentless. It whispers that you should already know what you're here for. That everyone else has figured it out. That time is running out. Most of us spend what should be the most electric years of our lives paralyzed by one question: What is my purpose? Not curious. Not excited. Paralyzed. I've spent years dedicated to understanding the systems, beliefs, and patterns that keep us stuck, exploring spiritual practices, sitting with teachers like Eckhart Tolle in A New Earth and Michael Singer in The Untethered Soul, and what I've come to understand about purpose has quietly changed everything for me. By the end of this episode, my hope is that you'll set down the weight you didn't even know you'd been carrying, and finally, genuinely, breathe again. This one is for everyone searching. But especially for you, if you're in your 20s and terrified you're already running out of time. RECOMMENDED BOOKS (these are affiliate links to also support my ability to keep making videos! I graduated and everything fell apart. Here's what I learned 5 years later.

If you clicked on this, you already know why. 🩵 Five years ago, I graduated with a degree in Forensic Science and knew almost immediately that it wasn't the path for me. So I moved back home, and spent the next 2-3 years rediscovering myself. My passions. What actually made me feel alive. It was messy. It was uncomfortable. And nobody really talks about that part too much. The Twenties Detox started as a simple blog post during that season, and slowly became something so much more. This video is my attempt to make you feel a little less alone. To be the big sister who sits across from you and says: you are not behind. You are not failing. Everything IS and WILL be okay.
