Passengers board a plane for many reasons. A single plane can hold honeymooners, stag and hen dos, families, dream vacationers, people moving to a different country, pilgrims, and business travellers. People also fly for sad reasons, visiting a sick loved one, a death in the family or leaving a broken relationship. It's one of the reasons I used to ask my cabin crew to chat a little with their passengers during service - to see if anyone needed a little extra attention, help celebrate or provide comfort.
The person who donated this story told us that this passenger that boarded their flight was a firm favourite with all the crew. He was kind, full of fun and flying back to visit the island he was born on 94 years ago. He touched the lives of all the crew that day for many reasons.
