Every Thriller Thursday all October long belongs to VINCENT PRICE because it is HALLOWEEN HUMPFEST ONCE AGAIN! For this Vincent piece we hit up a showcase in classic horror tension that has somewhat the same plot as “House on Haunted Hill” except it’s further in the past & a generation removed from the antics of the Spanish Inquisition. Yeah, dawg. It’s “THE PIT & THE PENDULUM” from 1961. You don’t want to get rid of the blood stained and well worn torture equipment. Those things could be collector’s items! This is one of Price’s prolific Poe adaptations and it’s been way too long since we’ve read this one, if ever, but this is two Vincent Price conversations in a row where a cucking doctor plots with a pretend dead wife of another man.
