Cloverfield (2008) - HHF4M4

We’re in our final stretch for HALLOWEEN HUMPFEST 4 and our final Monster Movie Monday selection and, sure, this isn’t the only day for monsters. There’s monsters all month long but Mondays are for the big boys and this one is very inspired by the legend we talked about on our first Monday. Godzilla may come back in the future but this big monster we’re discussing is trashing Manhattan seven years after 9/11. Why? Nobody knows actually. The only question is, can Rob get across town to save a girl he hooked up with once without getting all of his friends killed? Of course not. Well…one got saved, actually. We’re talking CLOVERFIELD from 2008 by Matt Reeves who is doing the new Batman movies. It’s a found footage flick so imagine every trope within that sub-genre and a lot of shaky cam. Makes sense if a bridge is collapsing the cam would be shaky. How big is the Statue of Liberty’s head exactly? Thanks to Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper for the generous sponsorships.
