The Paranoid Squirrel ep 1096
The Paranoid Squirrel Rock Show — Episode 1096: Halloween Special Acweorna! Step inside the Squirrel Dray for a monstrous helping of Punk, Power Pop, Garage, Glam and Hard Rock. Mind the cobwebs—and don’t assume everything lying on the floor is a coat. The Damned and Misfits get suitably sinister, while Groovie Ghoulies, Zombina and the Skeletones, The Screaming Tribesmen and Redd Kross reveal the hazards of looking for love after dark. Roky Erickson & The Aliens provide some questionable walking companions, and The Cramps bring the laboratory fuzz and sleaze. Ramones and The Sonics disturb a few resting places, The Hellflowers investigate something lurking in the lagoon, and New York Dolls supply the platform-booted monster rock. Alice Cooper handles feeding time, The Lillingtons take us beyond Earth’s atmosphere, and Bobby “Boris” Pickett rounds things off with a proper Halloween knees-up. Along the way, expect film connections, band background, dreadful jokes and tunes far too catchy to leave buried. This episode was pre-recorded while I headed to the 100 Club to see The Twenty Flight Rockers. Thankfully, the creatures left behind knew which buttons to press. Lock the doors, turn it up—and if you hear scratching, check which side of the headphones it’s coming from. Loud, proud & Squirrel approved.
