1386: Sean Wiswesser | Inside Putin's Russian Intelligence Machine

Russia's spy services are a bungling clown show that can still kill you anywhere. Here, ex-CIA officer Sean Wiswesser takes us inside Putin's secret war. Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1386 What We Discuss with Sean Wiswesser: Russian intelligence is a paradox. It's comprised largely of bungling fools who siphon gas from their own surveillance cars and binge-watch The Sopranos, yet they remain formidable adversaries. What makes them dangerous isn't competence but real capability paired with no moral limits and no accountability. Corruption isn't a bug — it's the system. Officers invent sources and pad reports with rewritten news to flatter the boss. That yes-man culture is how Putin was assured Ukraine would be a one-week war, now in its fifth year. A criminalized service takes reckless risks. The most insidious threat isn't assassinations — it's information warfare. What Russia did in 2016 is now amplified thousands-fold by AI, and it targets American youth to erode their faith in democracy itself. The one thing democracy asks of us is an informed public. The West is fighting a hybrid war it won't name, with severed undersea cables, a targeted German CEO, teenagers hired on Telegram for sabotage, and drones over Poland. Deterrence without consequences invites more, and Sean warns the Baltics are likely next after any Ukraine ceasefire. Democracy runs on an informed public, so you are the defense. Slow down, resist reacting to clickbait on emotion, and check sources before you share. And if anyone ever tries to compromise or coerce you, report it — silence is the only leverage they hold. 1385: Food Deserts | Skeptical Sunday

The map says oasis; the aisles say Doritos. This Skeptical Sunday, Jessica Wynn explains why grocery stores failed to fix how low-income neighborhoods eat. Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we’re joined by writer and researcher Jessica Wynn! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1385 On This Week's Skeptical Sunday: A 'food desert' is the USDA's label for a low-income neighborhood where hundreds of people live over a mile from a large grocery store — too far, the theory goes, so they eat worse. Build a store and diets improve. Yet billions of dollars later, most residents were already driving past one to shop elsewhere. Distance was never the driver — equalizing access and prices closes just nine to ten percent of the diet gap. The rest is preference, and preference isn't fixed taste; it's learned from culture, marketing, price, and stress. West Harlem got a great supermarket 15 years ago, yet obesity stayed high. The same government building stores to fix diets spends roughly $9 billion a year subsidizing crops like corn and soy — the raw material for syrup, seed oils, and cheap meat. Fresh produce gets under ten percent. No wonder a pint of blueberries costs more than a family-size bag of Blue Takis. The sharper problem isn't the desert but the swamp — neighborhoods saturated with fast food, dollar stores, and junk promotions. Counties with the worst swamp scores saw 77% higher obesity-related cancer deaths. A store can even be a mirage: it's there, but the shelves are mostly Doritos. You can't buy health by proximity, but you can build it through knowledge. Don't abandon the food you love; adjust it. Swap corn oil for olive, tweak a method, make one familiar dish a little healthier. Preference is learned, which means it can be relearned, starting now. 1384: Have You Lost Chance at Transatlantic Romance? | Feedback Friday

You found a profound love late and fast, then lost it to distance and duty. Did you try everything, or let fear end it? It's Feedback Friday! And in case you didn't already know it, Jordan Harbinger (@JordanHarbinger) and Gabriel Mizrahi (@GabeMizrahi) banter and take your comments and questions for Feedback Friday right here every week! If you want us to answer your question, register your feedback, or tell your story on one of our upcoming weekly Feedback Friday episodes, drop us a line at friday@jordanharbinger.com. Now let's dive in! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1384 On This Week's Feedback Friday: At 42, a British dad with a young daughter, you fell hard and fast for an incredible American woman — hours of video calls, a magical weekend in London, whole futures sketched out. Then her dream job landed and her aging parents' pull won out, and she ended it. You cut off all contact. Did fear decide too soon? Your daughter arrived a couple months ago, and so did a familiar problem: your overbearing mother, who kisses the baby after you begged her not to, drops by unannounced, and insists "there are no boundaries." A book finally named the childhood wound behind it. Now how do you set limits that actually stick? You became a committed Christian and joined a tiny, tight-knit church — half of them one family — but the sexual double entendres, lap-sitting, and playful kissing leave you uneasy in a house of worship. Leadership just says show grace. Is this a culture clash, or a sign your values no longer fit? Recommendation of the Week: No Country for Old Men — Jordan rewatched the Coen brothers' Cormac McCarthy adaptation and was floored all over again by their restraint, ambiguity, and mastery. His broader rec is basically the whole Coen catalog, from Fargo to Inside Llewyn Davis. These dudes rarely miss. At 35, single, an embryologist with a shrimp tank and a stable career, you took a trip to Costa Rica and cried on the plane home, never feeling more at home anywhere. Now you're eyeing visas, a possible PhD, a whole new life. Is it too late, or are you just trading comfort for something braver? Have any questions, comments, or stories you'd like to share with us? 1383: Christopher Ryan | The Dark Side of Civilization and Progress

We're apes stuck in a zoo of our own design. Christopher Ryan, author of Civilized to Death, reveals what modern life is really doing to us. Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1383 What We Discuss with Chris Ryan: Civilization loves writing its own Yelp reviews — the story that it saved us from lives that were nasty, brutish, and short is propaganda. We never doubled the human lifespan either; a wave of child deaths dragged the average down, while hunter-gatherer adults routinely reached their seventies. Many of the problems civilization brags about solving, it created. Contaminated water, crushed teeth, and the plagues bred by crowding and livestock all arrived with us. It's like lighting your house on fire, then showing up with a bucket and expecting thanks. Pick the yardstick and you win the argument — so we count GDP, tennis rackets, and mango slicers instead of loneliness, chronic pain, and despair. By honest measures, record anxiety and suicide among the young point to a culture built for commercial interests, not human ones. Agriculture wasn't a triumphant invention — it was an emergency irrigation fix during drought that ratcheted into a trap. Surplus grain needed storing, storing needed guarding, guards needed bosses, and the cascade rolled on to taxation, hierarchy, patriarchy, and slavery. The good thing is that none of this is destiny, and, for the first time in human history, we can choose how we live. This week, shrink your world to human scale: learn your neighbors' names, get into nature, share the caregiving, and find work that feels more like play. Helping others is the oldest cure. 1382: Emad Mostaque | Surviving the Coming AI Jobs Apocalypse

Digital feudalism or Star Trek at warp factor 9? The Last Economy author Emad Mostaque lays out the two futures toward which AI is racing us. Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1382 What We Discuss with Emad Mostaque: How AI's real disruption arrives long before it achieves sci-fi superintelligence. Emad's test is whether a digital twin can do a standard white-collar job remotely, at the same level, with no one able to tell it from the human. At the time of this interview, his 1,000-day clock now reads 684. Why cost is the tipping point: a humanoid robot renting near $1.50 an hour, digital workers replacing costly graduates, and AI that thinks roughly a thousand times faster, never sleeps, and won't repeat a mistake, out-competing any all-human firm. What happens when capital makes more capital without workers. Wealth concentrates around whoever owns the GPUs and robots, abundance registers as catastrophe, and the likely responses — debt jubilees, UBI, or civil insurrection — reshape income and ownership. Why ownership may matter more than intelligence itself. If the AI teaching kids, advising doctors, and interpreting law belongs to a government or a few unelected firms, digital feudalism looms, sharpened by super-persuader models that detect lies and steer choices. How to stay ahead: become AI-enabled now. Learn how these systems work, be the person bringing them into your organization, or use them to launch something of your own, while pushing for a future where people own intelligence aligned to human flourishing. 1381: The Housing Crisis | Skeptical Sunday

The housing crisis is real, but the villain isn't the one you think. Nick Pell nails down the real culprits here on Skeptical Sunday! Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we’re joined by writer and researcher Nick Pell! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1381 On This Week's Skeptical Sunday: The villain behind the housing affordability crisis isn't BlackRock. The scare stat that private equity owns 20% of single-family homes? The Urban Institute — a left-leaning shop — clocks it under 4%. Even grandpa renting out a condo counts as an "investor." Aim your outrage at the right enemy. Before a single plank of wood gets nailed, regulations bake about 24% into a new home's price — roughly $94,000 nationally, north of $150K in California. It's effectively illegal to build a genuinely cheap house, and almost nobody is protesting that. Golden handcuffs froze the market: why trade a 3% mortgage for a 6% one? Owners now sit tight a record 11 years, the listings that exist cluster between $750K and $1 million, and the starter home you could actually afford never reaches the market. The other culprit is your neighbor Greg, who treats vinyl siding as a war crime. Mandated gables, brick on all four sides, half-acre lots, mature trees — pure aesthetics, zero safety — heap tens of thousands onto every build and quietly outlaw the starter home. The empowering truth is that scarcity is a policy choice, so it's reversible — and the decisive fights are local. Show up to the city-council meetings you've been skipping. And credit is more fixable than you'd guess — Nick raised his 120 points in a year just paying down debt. Connect with Jordan on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. 1380: Is Victim at Fault for Scopolamine Assault? | Feedback Friday

A drink with a stranger in Colombia cost you your savings, your safety, and your peace. As the victim, are you entirely blameless? It's Feedback Friday! And in case you didn't already know it, Jordan Harbinger (@JordanHarbinger) and Gabriel Mizrahi (@GabeMizrahi) banter and take your comments and questions for Feedback Friday right here every week! You'd clawed your way back — 115 pounds gone, the Pacific Crest Trail behind you — when a Colombia trip meant to start a new chapter became a scopolamine nightmare: drugged, assaulted, and drained of tens of thousands while the banks shrugged that biometrics don't lie. Where do you even begin to rebuild? The affair that blew up your marriage never ended — you've quietly kept seeing her through the ugly divorce. Now she's done hiding and wants to meet your kids and family, who only know her as the scandal, and your ex is poised to weaponize it. How do you drag the secret into daylight without torching everything? Recommendation of the Week: Slice Mini Ceramic Box Cutter — a purse-sized blade with a ceramic edge that feels dull to the touch yet slices clean through cardboard and plastic. It's kid-safe, TSA-friendly, and, per Jen, weirdly indispensable for life's most random little jobs. You've watched a colleague you care about come apart at the seams — a hidden drinking problem you never saw coming, now impossible to unsee. You feel responsible for keeping her afloat, dreading the day something breaks. But is rescuing her really your job, or just the thing that quiets your own fear? 1379: Joseph Moore | Why Getting Ahead Has Never Been Easier

Convinced you missed your shot at getting rich? Historian and former broke professor Joseph Moore is here to explain why it's never been easier. Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1379 What We Discuss with Joseph Moore: The "American Dream is dead" cry is 300 years old. Colonists burned their own capital over it in 1676, long before the phrase existed. A despair industrial complex profits by telling you the game is rigged, because doom earns the clicks, votes, and tenure that good news won't. Getting ahead has never been easier — not easy, not fair, just easier. Six in 10 born in the bottom fifth climb out, one in 10 reach the top, and both wages and purchasing power beat what they were at your birth. Your ancestors would have prayed for these odds. Real wealth is built in slow time. Movies and headlines sell the dramatic version, so we chase crypto and sports betting for a fast-time win. That's not how fortunes are made. Budgeting, index funds, and skipping avocado toast protect wealth but rarely build it — that's just solving your own problems. You get wealthy solving other people's, taking risks others avoid, and moving toward opportunity. And no "timeless" money advice is timeless; it keeps changing. The best slow-time move you can make this week is to invest in yourself. A course, certificate, or skill that lifts your earning power can double or triple your income, outpacing any index fund. Believe you can, then take the risk. It's always been possible. And much more... And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps! 1378: Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) | Skeptical Sunday

Female genital mutilation (FGM) is happening right now to girls worldwide. Jessica Wynn explains why — and what stops it — on Skeptical Sunday. Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we’re joined by writer and researcher Jessica Wynn! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1378 On This Week's Skeptical Sunday: Female Genital Mutilation isn't a fringe practice — an estimated 230 million women and girls alive today have undergone FGM, and the number is climbing, up 15 percent in eight years. More than two million girls are cut each year, most before their fifth birthday, some within days of being born. FGM isn't Islamic — it predates Islam and appears among Christian and non-religious communities alike; the common thread is culture, not theology. "God requires this" is used as control, which is also why trusted religious leaders are among the strongest voices for ending it. The decision is overwhelmingly made by women — mothers, grandmothers, aunts — not fathers. But they act inside a system where marriage, status, and inheritance hinge on being cut, so it isn't simply men oppressing women. FGM and child marriage are two gears in one machine. The fastest-growing myth is that cutting is safer in a clinic — about one in four recent cases were done by healthcare workers, up to 75 percent in Egypt. There is no safe version. Medicalizing FGM doesn't reduce harm; it lends the practice a veil of legitimacy that helps it survive. Here's what actually works: change from the inside out. When communities talk their own way to abandoning FGM, as in Somaliland and Tostan's villages, it sticks. You can help: fund survivor-led groups, check whether your state bans FGM, back healthcare training, and keep the conversation alive. Connect with Jordan on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. 1377: Is Help Unseekable for Attraction Unspeakable? | Feedback Friday

You carry an attraction you never chose and never acted on, but therapy could trigger a report that ruins you. Get help, or hide? It's Feedback Friday! And in case you didn't already know it, Jordan Harbinger (@JordanHarbinger) and Gabriel Mizrahi (@GabeMizrahi) banter and take your comments and questions for Feedback Friday right here every week! If you want us to answer your question, register your feedback, or tell your story on one of our upcoming weekly Feedback Friday episodes, drop us a line at friday@jordanharbinger.com. You're a pedophile who's never acted on it and swears you never will — but the secret is crushing you. You want a therapist to help you rewire your brain, yet you're terrified that opening up triggers mandatory reporting and torches the life you've built. Where does someone in your position even find real help? Remember the lonely wife from episode 1365 — the one whose husband grinds 80-90 hours a week and never plans the date night or trip she keeps asking for? A sharp listener writes in to reframe the whole thing: maybe it was never about a vacation, but about who quietly carries everything else. So who's really right? You're a vegan wellness pro who buried your father, brother, and mother from heart disease — and now you're watching your partner of 20 years surrender to four medications, a widening waistline, and financial shame. You have the knowledge to help him; what you lack is the key to reaching him. How do you break through? Recommendation of the Week: My Dad Wrote a Porno — the podcast where a man discovers his mild-mannered retired dad secretly wrote a gloriously terrible erotic novel, then reads it aloud with two friends, chapter by chapter. Some of the finest comedy around! You've quietly become the person your kid self dreamed of — great job, a dog you adore, hobbies, real friends. Now an inheritance could bankroll the wild dream: a plot in northern England, your own planted forest, a hand-built cabin, food you grow yourself. 1376: Sean Hemeon | The Good Little Drug Lord

How does shame curdle into addiction? Ex-dealer and federal informant Sean Hemeon retraces his descent and the long climb back to sober. Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1376 What We Discuss with Sean Hemeon: Sean Hemeon was primed for addiction before he ever tried meth. Abandoned at four, taught by his church that being gay made him diseased, meth gave him the confidence and belonging shame had denied him. It didn't create the void, but filled one that was already there. Moral collapse is gradual, not sudden. A year without a sober breath is how a smart person ends up stuffing meth into a dying stranger's nose, hoping to restart his heart. Boundaries don't break all at once — they give way one rationalization at a time. The system meant to stop the harm made it worse. Agents saved in Sean's phone as 'yes' and 'no' pushed him back into dealing to gather intel. A judge charmed by his school's basketball team let him walk. The outcome had less to do with the crime than with luck. A grieving mother found Sean's number on her dead son's last phone bill and called, begging him not to hang up. He hung up. That choice broke his image of himself as a good person and left a debt he's still trying to pay. 1375: Alphas | Skeptical Sunday

Think you need to be an "alpha" to win? Nick Pell debunks the wolf-pack myth and reveals what actually earns respect here on Skeptical Sunday! Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we’re joined by writer and researcher Nick Pell! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1375 On This Week's Skeptical Sunday: An "alpha" is supposedly the dominant top dog — the leader who takes 90% of life's spoils while the lesser "betas" scrap for crumbs. But the whole pecking order traces back to a 1940s study of captive wolves crammed into a pen — the "wolf prison yard," not real pack life. The biologist who made "alpha" famous, L. David Mech, spent decades disavowing his own bestseller. The so-called alpha wolves aren't the toughest fighters who clawed their way up — they're just the parents. The pack defers to them because they bring the food. Humans didn't conquer the planet by bullying — we did it by cooperating. We're "obligate cooperators," self-domesticated apes who arguably bred aggression out of ourselves. Nobody builds a pencil, let alone a moon rocket, alone. Dominance is a liability, not a cheat code. Real influence runs on prestige, not dominance (a distinction from anthropologist Joseph Henrich). Fear makes people hide problems — think D-Day, when nobody dared wake Hitler, or Vietnam-era "fragging." Domineering bosses get avoided; competent ones get followed. Want to actually lead? Drop the dominance act and build competence instead. Lead by example, stay approachable so small problems reach you while they're still small, and treat people as collaborators rather than rivals. Prestige is freely given — and it's what makes people want to follow you. Connect with Jordan on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. 1374: Safety Compromised by Husband, Traumatized | Feedback Friday

War and police work broke your husband, then he ditched his meds. Do you stand by a spiraling man, or shield your sons from him? It's Feedback Friday! And in case you didn't already know it, Jordan Harbinger (@JordanHarbinger) and Gabriel Mizrahi (@GabeMizrahi) banter and take your comments and questions for Feedback Friday right here every week! If you want us to answer your question, register your feedback, or tell your story on one of our upcoming weekly Feedback Friday episodes, drop us a line at friday@jordanharbinger.com. Now let's dive in! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1374 On This Week's Feedback Friday: Don't want to hear about Gabe's Spanish hippie countryside misadventures? Fast forward to 16 minutes and 20 seconds! 19 years married, two young sons, and a husband whose army malaria-drug trial and years as a cop left him traumatized — now off his meds, raging at every institution on Earth, and dropping $60K on domain names in a manic spree. Your compassion is bottomless, but so is the toll on the kids. When does devotion quietly curdle into self-sacrifice? Nine years in, blended families and shared pets, and you don't doubt his love for a second — but your name isn't on the deed, the mortgage, or anything a hospital or a court would ever recognize. Raise it, and he changes the subject. You want protection, not necessarily a ring. How do you get a straight answer without lobbing an ultimatum? Your mother-in-law raised four thriving kids in a spotless home, and now you can barely cross her rooms for the Dollar Tree hauls of stuff she already owns and can't find. She's hypersensitive, a past with the bottle lurks nearby, and you're the closest of her kids — so the job of stepping in falls to you. How do you broach the hoarding without shattering her? Recommendation of the Week: visualping.io — a tireless little watchdog that monitors any web page for changes and emails you the moment something moves, whether it's a piece of software that won't auto-update, a Wikipedia edit, your own site going down, or the kids' Little League schedule. Jordan's quietly made it a staple of his workflow. Weeks ago you were sharing custody of Frankie with an ex who demanded 50-50 but turned up maybe 10 percent of the year and never chipped in a dime for vet bills. Jordan and Gabe told you to keep her full-time — so you finally sent the message you'd been dreading for weeks. Did it detonate the way you braced for, or something stranger? 1373: Sonja Lyubomirsky | Five Mindsets to Get You More of What Matters

Money, fame, and abs buy admiration, not intimacy. How to Feel Loved author Sonja Lyubomirsky reveals the five mindsets that make you feel loved. Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1373 What We Discuss with Sonja Lyubomirsky: Being loved and feeling loved are two different things. Surveys found 70 percent of people can name a close relationship where the love just isn't landing. Someone can adore you completely, but if it never clears your firewall, you can feel utterly alone in a room full of people who care. The fix isn't becoming more lovable or overhauling your partner — it's changing the next conversation. A relationship is really just a series of conversations, which means feeling more loved is far more under your control than the entire self-help aisle wants you to believe. Money, status, and six-pack abs buy admiration, not intimacy — and admiration never makes anyone feel known. Optimizing your dating life like you're shopping for a used Porsche, chasing the mythical 'four sixes,' only builds a more elaborate CAPTCHA for loneliness. The five love languages are closer to pop theology than science. Researchers debunked the idea that partners must 'match' or the relationship is doomed. There are far more than five ways to connect, and the two everyone actually craves are simply quality time and words of affirmation. If you don't feel loved, go first. Get curious, listen to learn instead of to reply, share, and lead with warmth. Text that old friend, ask your parents real questions, break out the conversation cards. Connection is a skill, and every small drop counts. And much more... And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps! 1372: Milk | Skeptical Sunday

Oat, almond, soy, dairy—the milk aisle is a culture war in your coffee. But what's best? Jessica Wynn brings all the truth to the yard on Skeptical Sunday! Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we’re joined by writer and researcher Jessica Wynn! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1372 On This Week's Skeptical Sunday: On nutrition, dairy still wins — about eight grams of high-quality protein per cup versus one to two for most oat milks, plus it's the cheapest protein you can pour. Switching to plant milk to feel healthier can quietly cost you the very nutrition you assumed tagged along. The viral "gallons per almond" stat is engineered outrage — framed per nut, never per glass, and never beside dairy. Full life-cycle studies show dairy actually uses more total water and carries the biggest footprint of all. When a scary stat trends as an industry loses share, ask who funded it. Branding, not merit, decides what's in your cup — soy and pea rival dairy on protein, and hemp and pea are the cleanest options environmentally, yet all three barely sell. Pea milk's real handicap is its name. The market rewards the familiar and coffee-friendly, not the nutritionally best. The war over the word "milk" is mostly theater — the DAIRY PRIDE Act has stalled since 2017 because the FDA's own focus groups found nobody confuses oat milk with cow's milk. It was never about deception. It's about protecting the billions in market share dairy lost fair and square. There's no single "right" milk, only the one that fits your priority. Want nutrition? Soy or pea. Environment? Oat, pea, or hemp. Best latte? Oat or macadamia. Digest dairy fine? Enjoy it. For kids under five, ask a pediatrician, not a barista. Consistency beats purity. 1371: Showed Intent to Roam, so In-Laws Stole Home | Feedback Friday

Your in-laws lowballed you for your own home, took the deed, and kept the cash. Do you fight family in court, or eat the loss? It's Feedback Friday! And in case you didn't already know it, Jordan Harbinger (@JordanHarbinger) and Gabriel Mizrahi (@GabeMizrahi) banter and take your comments and questions for Feedback Friday right here every week! If you want us to answer your question, register your feedback, or tell your story on one of our upcoming weekly Feedback Friday episodes, drop us a line at friday@jordanharbinger.com. Now let's dive in! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1371 On This Week's Feedback Friday: Your wife's parents paid off her mortgage, then "gifted" the renovations they now insist were a $225,000 investment. When you two planned to move states away, they demanded the house, lowballed you to $100,000, took the deed with no written contract — and never paid up. Can you claw it back? Everyone swears you'd make a great mom — you teach Sunday school, you "mother" a neighbor's two boys — but you have never wanted kids of your own. Your husband knew that before you married him at 18, yet he keeps pushing, promising he'll magically change once there's a baby. Do you hold the line? Your wife swapped a structured corporate career for an under-resourced nonprofit that promised training and delivered "figure it out." Now she's on a performance plan built to push her out, her confidence is shredded, and you're bracing for a fight over unemployment. Can she protect herself before the axe drops? Recommendation of the Week: Unsubscribe from every email you don't need — Jordan finally purged every newsletter, promo blast, and dormant Facebook group from his inbox, and calls the relief life-changing: less daily noise, and a quiet defection from the "push" world of stuff shoved at you back into the "pull" world you seek out yourself. You're a 48-year-old in Texas and the past two years erased your marriage, your career, your finances, even your dog. Your ex came out as trans, leaned on you through all of it, then discarded you the moment someone new appeared. You barely recognize yourself in the wreckage. Where do you even begin to rebuild? 1370: Peter Zeihan | North American Solutions to a Breaking World Order

War is getting cheaper, supply lines are in danger, and the old order is cracking. Peter Zeihan explains why it's breaking and what North America can do. Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1370 What We Discuss with Peter Zeihan: War just got cheaper, not less lethal. A drone costing double-digit dollars can now pick its own target, fly hundreds of miles, and destroy gear guarded by $4 million interceptors. Ukraine fires hundreds a day, and the edge that made piloted systems king is shrinking by the week. America blew through half its Patriot interceptors in the Iran war and can build only about 70 a year — refilling the stockpile is a 15-year math problem. The result: a broad drawdown of US power across the Eastern Hemisphere, because we can no longer afford to defend it. The real crisis isn't losing cheap gadgets — it's losing the building blocks. Roughly 80% of the world's steel, copper, lithium, and cobalt is processed in China. Break that system before a replacement exists, and we lose the materials that make the things that make everything else. AI isn't floating safely above the mess. Its best chips lean on about 9,000 companies and 100,000 production steps, so one broken link stalls the whole thing. Stack that on China's demographic freefall — a white-collar generation apparently never born — and 'fragile' undersells it. The way through: deepen North American integration — lock in NAFTA with Mexico and Canada and rebuild industrial capacity at home. Mexico's plants are largely built and Turkey is rising fast. The path exists; it just takes the discipline to stop dismantling the fix first. And much more... And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps! 1369: Trepanation & Castration | Skeptical Sunday

Trepanation, voluntary eunuchs, and other things to never try at home. Nick Pell cuts through the crackpot science here on Skeptical Sunday. Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we’re joined by writer and researcher Nick Pell! Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1369 On This Week's Skeptical Sunday: The oldest surgery on Earth: How humans spent 7,000 to 10,000 years drilling holes in skulls — and why survival rates reached 40 percent, climbing as high as 78 percent in some pre-modern European populations, rivaling the best of early modern Europe. When the ancients got it right: Why trepanation was sometimes sound medicine — relieving deadly pressure from a brain bleed — even as it was also used to release evil spirits, treat epilepsy and migraines, or mark warriors and shamans in rites of passage. The modern movement's quack roots: What drives voluntary trepanation today traces to Dutch pseudo-doctor Bart Huges, who drilled his own skull chasing a "higher consciousness" — a theory with zero evidence and a mortality rate north of 25 percent. DIY castration and the men behind it: How thousands of voluntary eunuchs and unlicensed "cutters" operate outside medicine, and why researchers tie the drive to body integrity dysphoria, sexual fetish, and the elusive pursuit of total "eunuch calm." How separating crackpot theory from real science comes down to asking what the evidence actually shows, respecting bodily autonomy without romanticizing harm, and consulting a mental health professional before anything irreversible.
