    She Told Us in 2009 Dani Johnson, marketing expert, told us about how to beat pornography for children back in 2009. Porn for kids? Yuk! We listened, but we didn't understand how serious it was. She said marketers were in board rooms at that time figuring out how to addict children to pornography, because the male market was already maxed out. This was a beginning of the sad state we are in now. It will help show how to proceed. Today, we are in the Situation of Extended Battle Today, we have come through a tsunami of sex trafficking, conducted by or at least obviously abetted by, our government. Hundreds of thousands of children are being rescued, with many times that more to go. The population is rising up against a government education system that is demanding children read porn. Then those systems resist both law and community standards, and tell us "trust the experts." So pornography (what would be defined as pornography and a felony to offer minors, not just sex education, is in the curricula and school libraries across the country. Why? How could that be? The horrible thought is that human sex trafficking is the most remunerative trade on the planet. May it not be. May the forces of Light, Love, and Truth, of the True God and of his Christ/Messiah rise up and defeat the forces of darkness, evil, and violence.     Advice on Debate Over Porn in Public Schools

    Last episode I was giving your my observation of the discussion, the hearing at the school board about porn, yes actual pornography, in school libraries, yes, even in the elementary schools. So, I related the arguments on one side and on the other. Today, I finish up with this part of the discussion. Then, today, I will add some advice and/or suggestions for my friends who are against porn about how to best argue. I discovered that many people, whom you would think were well informed really question whether there is actual porn in the classroom. You see, even fair minded leftists have a hard time imagining what is going on. They think back to many decades ago, and remember when they were young and how they went to the library to find factual material about maturation. That is NOT what we are talking about. We are talking about normalizing sexual depredation. Talk about violence. Talk about abuse of women. Talk about grooming for sex trafficing, because, folks this is what we have. Talk about developmentally appropriate and educationally beneficial. Talk about lowest academic standards and academic achievement. Talk about lack of safety for our children. Then, realize too, that this normalization of deviant sex has already gone on for so long that mere reading of obvious porn, what is obviously morally repugnant to you very likely may not be to someone else. And finally, realize that the most profitable business in the world is human trafficking, and the most profitable part of that is child sex traffic, and the most profitable part of that is deviant or unusual children. Wow! That explains a lot. That we never wanted to understand. Remember that truth will out and God will win. We want to be on that winning side, the side of the angels who protect children.     Porn Hearing at Local School Board

    I give you my observation of hearing at a local school board, in a mid-sized, conservative city about the inclusion of porn, yes pornography not educational material, in the libraries of the school, including even the elementary schools. One side argued against banning books, for trusting the experts, and mocked references to the Bible, which are common in the community. The other mostly read the material (this time without the mic being cut off) and pointed out the that school policy was still in violation of SB13, and occasionally made reference to the Bible. Facts are that there are many books with pornographic material (meaning illegal to give to minors in this state were they not in schools) in school libraries, including elementary schools. The state legislation and governor argue that porn has been banned through passage of SB 13 which allows parents to investigate, appeal for removal, and mark certain books not permitted for check out for their particular child. Apparently, the procedure for committee oversight and appeal for removal have been changed. Apparently books are removed when parents visit and then replaced. Only a handful of the claimed 1300 books have been removed. This town well over 20% of its children homeschooled, and several large private Christian and charter schools. I was told that most of the student in the government schools have only one parent in the home. I agree with the opinion that I heard aired in the 1990s that there is a division between town and gown in the community. I have known this school system to violate the law. The meeting/hearing was very well attended. I sat in the overflow room, and thus viewed what proceedings I saw via screen. Therefore, I could not see the behavior of the school board. It was reported to me that everyone was within the bounds of politeness, and some appeared to agree with the community. The speakers on the left seemed to me to all be employees or retirees of the school system. I came away upset at the violence, grooming and depredation obviously in the material. I came away thinking that neither side "heard" or understood the other side. I continue to be surprised that "I love books...." was never followed by "but..." The sides clearly were hardened, neither were skilled, and some (professionals on the left) acted beneath decorum. But after all, we are having a debate on very serious violation of community standards. While this is a particular situation, with only a slice of one person's observations, I do hope my observation help both sides to understand the other -- and in the end improve the situation.     God Heals, Saves, and Delivers

    Many people who have been in Spirit Filled type churches will recognize the slogan "God heals, saves, and delivers." What does that mean? Healing should be obvious. Not jus tin the way creation was set up do things heal and regenerate sometimes, but also, we see miraculous healings. As far as I know God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, is the only one who heals. No one claims that competitor gods heals. Being saved seems to be a term used in the more evangelical, Bible oriented church. Any church, however, with any sort of tie to the history of Christianity witnessed to in the Bible, understands conversion, regeneration, and thus "being saved" -- even if that is not what they focus on. The terms mean the same thing. When one surrenders one life to Christ Jesus, comes under his Lordship, one receives His salvation from sin, receives forgiveness but also a new life. This is what regeneration means. One might say that the human spirit, once dead, become alive as it is not connected with God's Spirit. (That last sentence is my own thinking and not necessarily wide spread consensus theology -- but the rest is.) Salvation is from sin, from dead, and into eternal life. This change should show in the here and now, and not in the afterlife only. All Christians agree; any who do not are outside of the tradition and disconnected from the Bible. Delivers -- okay. Again, going back to the Bible, we see both Jesus and the Apostles delivering or rescuing people from demons/unclean spirits/devil(s). This idea of deliverance and rescue certainly may be applied to any negative life circumstances. Jesus helps drunks get sober, the poor find provision, the solitary find community. This should be uncontroversial. So, this is what we mean. God can heal your heart. God can heal your child. We see God doing so in various ways, in the Old Testament, in the New Testament, and in the testimonies regularly today. God can deliver you from terrible circumstances. We read miracle stories from the history of the Israel and Judah. We hear testimonies today. God tends to do this, in our understanding, mostly these days when someone surrenders their life, meaning they receive help in the way God wants to give it. Lordship and Saviorship/salvation/rescuing come together. The testimonies are almost all in this context of having a bad life, coming into a church, agreeing with the preached word, joining the community, and having a changed life. Mostly. So, this applies to you and your family. To your children. The way of the Lord is health and life. It is learning, too. Search for God. God is reaching out to you. Yes, there may be blockages. Some person or another may be used to knock you off your goal. Ignore that and grab the gold ring: salvation, healing, and rescue in all ways. Isaiah 53 is our best chapter on the Messiah, Jesus bring healing and salvation. Romans 10 is our best passage on how to get it: believe, confess, and receive. Then, you will have "walked out" (or experienced the process and now demonstrate) "God heals, saves, and delivers."

    God’s Healing Promise Are Still Good

    We have been thinking a lot about Fauci and the plandemic and the harm of vaccines lately. Fauci's non-cooperation with the Senate is on the news. Some wildly arrogant reporter argues with the Secretary of Health and Human services -- much to her and her employer's shame. One of our last episodes was a round up of reflections on vaccines/immunizations and the decisions faced if sending a child to a school. It is painful. Most people are not mentally strong enough to be willing to connect all the dots; the picture is grim. But no matter how widespread and evil Evil is, God is greater. God's healing promise, secured in the atonement, won on the cross of Calvary... has not somehow lost its power. Yes, a lot of repentance is in order for those who pushed sickness, death, destruction, and infertility onto others. But many of us were ... deceived. Maybe still that is sin; we should have inquired of God. It is chilling how many ministries urged their people to get the vaccines -- or not to worry about it (which is just about as bad especially if that minister makes a living off of end time preaching). Nevertheless, there is forgiveness for sin when repented. I John 1:8 God is faithful to forgive of our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Beyond that, God wants healing for us all. God did not create the world broken. And He sent help in Jesus Christ, to redeem us. Not just eternally, but with help for the here and now. Check out Isaiah 53 with me, that talks about God's redemption from sin and from sickness -- on the cross. BTW Johnny Enlow shared that "Fauci" is a Sicilian name, meaning "sickle (a large curved knife used to harvest plants)." God's healing promise stands. Let's study it, cling to it, and think about it.

Mostly, it was forced upon them and they simply chose to do the right thing, following the morals of their faith and the ethics of their profession. The question is why so many failed.     Manners and Civics? Lessons from The American Revolution

    Here is our special for our 250 year anniversary of the American Revolution. Here are some related things to think about in terms of your children's learning. How are manners and civics related? Character and government? These are things that we seldom think about today, but are vital. They were the root of the success of our culture and our nation's founding. Yet, almost unknown today. BTW, why did our American Revolution "work" and the French Revolution did not? Was it not character, principles, and structure rooted in the Reformed reading of the Bible? Yes! Manners (how one behaves) and civics (how one orders political life) came from the Bible in the American Revolution, already tested in Protestant communities. Consider these videos and articles.     Parents Teaching Civics?

    Is it a good idea that parents teach civics? Shouldn't that be done by professionals? How is that working out for you? Deuteronomy 6 tasks parents with education. Even if you hire a private school or send your child to governments schools, still, in the end a parent is responsible. So, do we teach civics? Meaning ... the knowledge and training how to contribute to the common good by properly interfacing with the government. Let's consider that. What would civics consist in? The small child might have to share responsibility to clean up shared space. The moppet may learn to enforce non-bullying on his playground. The "junior higher" may learn about governmental affairs by participating in an ordered voluntary association, as perhaps a club with officers. The "high schooler" may be trying out her speaking ability, promoting some measure at city council to restrain government. We all had best be continuing to learn about history and governmental philosophy. Today, we take one episode from our Manner product to consider civics: that we must teach it, that parents should be involved in being sure it is taught and properly, and consider what might best be taught.     Celebrate the 250th by Studying the Founders’ Principles

    Let's review the principles of the founders. Here is an introduction, a primer. (Not to be confused with the New England primer that taught reading.) Returning to and understanding of the basic principle's of the founders is of great need. 1. Rights are given by God, not government. 2. Governments are given the power to protect the citizens. 3. Citizen should be freemen who hold government accountable to the original principles. 4. For this reason, all citizens must be able to read, so they can read the Bible, so they can be sure that the laws are following the Bible. Think how very different that is from our philosophy today. I had a pastor actually argue with me that governments, not God, give rights! And surely, to suggest that laws should be founded on Biblical principles is hardly under consideration. But let's us consider it. Let's read actual history and actual political philosophy. And the very words of the founders, which we indeed have. BTW, then, one highly educated like I am will see that not only was most of this left out of our education, we were actually taught lies. Washington being a deist is ridiculous; he was a very devout Church of England man. There is a reason why so many pictures of him are in the kneeling position. Why would a general kneel down and pray to a Deist type God? Ben Franklin's suggestion of seeking the help of Providence was not some perfunctory break, as my students would like to think. And Thomas Jefferson's "cutting up the Bible" was in order to make a non-reptitive gospel with which to evangelize the natives. Please see the movie about George Whitfield and Benjamin Franklin.     Teaching Your Children Civics

    As a run-up to our 350th Independence Day, I thought it would be good to revisit some of our episodes related to that. Today: teaching your child civics. This vital education is entirely missing from our government schools -- intentionally so. Something else has been substituted: being a world citizen. Oh, that sounds great, but when you investigate, what has happened is an entire switch from Christian, American, community values. Even character training has been entirely erased. Instead of character, a training in tirggered feelings. Instead of moral and civic engagement, a weaponization of activism, whole based on feelings generated by someone else. Critical thinking is not analytic and synthetic, but critical meaning Marxist deconstructionist. (If you question this, check out the little booklets that come yearly to every professor's mailbox that supposedly encourage critical thinking and discover that the conclusions are all Marxist. Never could logic come out conventional or Christian -- apparently -- based on those booklets. By contrast, I think you know that there are many apologetic references that do use logic and come out with conventional morals.) In short, for 2 or 3 generations, our government schools (and many private schools) have taught a substitute value system, contrary to the Christian view of the founders of The United States. In previous decades any apparent morals or civics may have not been taught. Then we had "values clarification" which many thought was only "morals deconstruction." Then we had obvious Marxism/socialism/Climate Change, etc. Now we have a pitched battle for hetero-normativity in sexual behavior. But maybe, just maybe, you want to be sure that your child understands American values, the need to both restrain oneself for the community, and the need to contribute toward that community. For no student is this more important than for "the learning disabled" because the system focuses so much on "accomodation" and falsely so called "remediation" that normally these students do not get the normal kind of student engagement that other students get. Further, any reading problems mean that these shtudents do not get "the between the lines" comprehension of classic civics texts -- even if they were presented with such. Manners, getting along with others, and civics is exactly the kind of socialization that SHOULD go on in education. It just seldom does -- unless the parent or rare school focuses in on it.
