#3| Why Strong Independent Women Burn Out: The Masculine & Feminine Energy Trap

You're the woman everyone counts on. But what happens when being capable turns into being responsible for absolutely everything? You solve problems, lead teams, manage deadlines, and somehow keep your household moving. You're fiercely independent—and damn good at what you do. But the same skills that made you successful might be the reason you're struggling with burnout, work-life balance, and letting other people support you. What if becoming a more powerful woman doesn't mean doing more—but learning what you no longer need to carry? In this episode of The Wild Woman Within, Rachel Fitzpatrick challenges three beliefs that keep successful women exhausted and explores how masculine and feminine energy can work together to help you lead boldly without controlling every outcome. Listen to discover: Why resilience doesn't mean handling everything alone. How being everyone's problem solver can quietly become your biggest leadership limitation. Why masculine energy isn't the enemy—and how feminine energy creates space for intuition, collaboration, and adaptability. How your corporate leadership habits may be affecting your relationships and ability to receive support at home. Why letting go of control doesn't make you less powerful—it creates opportunities for others to grow. The Audacity: Be the North Star, Not the Traveler. Identify one situation where you've taken responsibility for something that might not actually belong to you. Before stepping in, ask yourself: Is this actually my problem to solve? What would happen if I allowed someone else to lead? Can I provide direction without controlling the outcome? Because sometimes your greatest contribution isn't doing the work. It's creating the conditions for someone else to succeed. Press play to discover how to stop carrying everything, receive more support, and become a stronger leader without sacrificing your ambition. #2| The “I'll Be Happy When” Trap: How to Find Contentment Without Giving Up Your Ambition

You've built the career, reached the milestones, and created a life you once dreamed about. So why does happiness always seem to be waiting on your next accomplishment? When the project is finished. When the house is perfect. When you finally have more time. Sound familiar? For fiercely independent women, achievement can become more than something we do. It becomes proof of who we are. And somewhere along the way, we start believing we have to earn the right to enjoy our own lives. In this first integration episode of The Wild Woman Within, Rachel Fitzpatrick introduces Santosha, the ancient yogic practice of contentment, and explores how to stop making happiness conditional on your next achievement. In this episode, you'll discover: Why slowing down can feel threatening when your identity is built around achievement. How the ancient wisdom of Santosha challenges the “I'll be happy when” mindset. Why contentment doesn't mean complacency or giving up your ambition. How to recognize the moments you're so busy managing that you've forgotten to experience. A simple guided practice to reconnect with what you actually want from life. The Audacity: Five Minutes of Enough In the manifesto, we challenged you to stop asking what you need to do and start asking what you want to experience. Now it's time to practice. Give yourself five minutes today to enjoy something you've already worked hard to create. No improving it. No turning it into another task. Just experiencing it. Because you don't have to hate where you are to give yourself permission to grow. And the life you're working toward? Some of it's already here. Press play and discover how to enjoy your life while you're still building it. #1| You Built a Beautiful Life. When Do You Actually Get to Live It?

You've built the career, earned the money, and become the woman everyone depends on. So why doesn't your successful life feel as good as you thought it would? You're fiercely independent. You handle the deadlines, the family, the responsibilities, and everything in between. But somewhere along the way, the life you worked so hard to build became the life you're simply trying to survive. And maybe the hardest part isn't the exhaustion. It's realizing you don't quite recognize yourself anymore. In this first episode of The Wild Woman Within, Rachel Fitzpatrick challenges the invisible expectations keeping successful women trapped in burnout, disconnection, and a life that looks better than it feels. In this episode, you'll discover: Why being a strong, independent woman can leave you disconnected from your own identity. How to approach your changing body, energy, and emotions with more compassion instead of treating them like another problem to fix. Why achieving success doesn't automatically create fulfillment, presence, or joy. How reconnecting with your feminine energy can open the door to experiencing life differently. One powerful question to help you reconnect with what you actually want. The Audacity: Stop asking what you need to do. Start asking what you want to experience. You don't have to abandon your ambition, burn your life down, or become somebody else to feel fulfilled. Maybe the wild woman within you is simply asking you to come home to yourself. Press play. Your next chapter starts here. 88| You Weren't Meant to Do It All: Welcome to The Wild Woman Within

What if the very thing that made you successful is the same thing keeping you stuck, exhausted, and burned out? You've built a life around being the strong, independent woman who gets it all done. You lead the meetings, manage the deadlines, take care of everyone else, and somehow keep everything moving. But underneath all that success, you're exhausted. And no amount of time management, productivity hacks, or perfectly organized spreadsheets seems to fix it. What if recovering from burnout isn't about learning to manage more, but finally realizing you were never meant to carry it all? In this special episode, Rachel Fitzpatrick announces the evolution of The Fitzen Project into The Wild Woman Within, a podcast dedicated to helping high-achieving women recover from burnout, embrace feminine energy, and create true work-life balance without sacrificing their success. Rachel shares why she's moving beyond conversations about mindfulness and alignment to explore the deeper beliefs, patterns, and expectations that keep ambitious women trapped in cycles of overworking, overgiving, and overcontrolling. In this episode, you'll discover: Why fierce independence, the very quality that helped you become successful, might also be keeping you trapped in burnout and preventing you from receiving the support you deserve. How inherited beliefs about control, responsibility, and asking for help influence the way you lead, love, and navigate your everyday life. What to expect from The Wild Woman Within, including a fresh approach to burnout recovery that blends corporate project management, ancient yoga wisdom, feminine energy, and practical spiritual tools to help you set boundaries, trust yourself, and find more freedom. Press play to discover why you don't need to work harder or manage more to overcome burnout, and how The Wild Woman Within will help you redefine success, release control, and create a life you actually have time to enjoy. 87| 6 Lessons I Learned From Closing an 18-Month Project Before Burnout Made the Decision for Me

Have you ever known something was complete—but kept trying to make it work because you’d already invested too much to walk away? Sometimes changing direction doesn’t mean you failed. Sometimes the changes are the work. If you’re used to approaching your career, relationships, goals, and even yourself like a project that can be optimized, it can be difficult to recognize when something has simply run its course. You keep strategizing, analyzing, fixing, and pushing—until burnout makes the decision for you. In this episode, Rachel shares six lessons she learned after closing The FitZen Project and preparing to step into The Wild Woman Within. She explores what happens when you stop treating every change as evidence that something went wrong and start seeing your curiosity, intuition, and even your body as valuable sources of information. You’ll discover: How to recognize when changing direction is giving you valuable information instead of proving you made the wrong choice. Why your body can reveal what’s aligned long before your metrics, plans, or rational mind catch up. How to stop using optimization and productivity as substitutes for trust—and integrate your strategic, ambitious side with your intuitive, feminine side. Before you rush into your next relationship, job, project, identity, or chapter, play this episode to learn how to integrate what the last chapter taught you so you can move forward without rebuilding the same life under a different name. 86| Why “Finish What You Started” Isn’t Always the Courageous Choice

What if the thing you keep trying to fix isn’t broken—what if it’s simply complete? We’re taught to have the courage to begin, keep going, pivot, optimize, and refuse to quit. But when you’re a high-achieving woman who knows how to push through discomfort, it can be much harder to recognize when something has already accomplished exactly what it came into your life to do. In this episode, Rachel takes the FitZen Project through one final project lifecycle—from initiation and planning to execution, endless change requests, and ultimately closure. After 18 months of experimenting, questioning, creating, healing, and becoming, she shares why closing this chapter isn’t failure. It’s the decision that makes space for what comes next. In this episode, you’ll discover: How to recognize the difference between something that needs another adjustment and something that has genuinely completed its purpose. Why changing your mind, message, direction, or identity doesn’t necessarily mean you failed to figure it out—and how those changes can become the work itself. How to release the sunk cost of who you’ve been, honor what a chapter gave you, and create space for the woman you’re becoming. Play the episode to discover how closing what’s complete can give you the clarity, courage, and space to step fully into your next era. What If You Don’t Need the Whole Plan? How to Trust Your Next Step

What If You Don’t Need the Whole Plan? How to Trust Your Next Step What if you’re not stuck because you don’t know what to do? What if you’re overthinking because you’re trying to figure out ten steps ahead when life is only asking you to take one? For fiercely independent women who are used to being in control, uncertainty can feel unbearable. So we plan harder. Push harder. Optimize everything. And somewhere along the way, the constant pressure to figure it all out becomes another road straight to overwhelm and burnout. After weeks of doing exactly that, I realized I was ignoring this week’s Microdose of Courage: Take the next logical step. In this short embodiment episode, we’re taking that Microdose out of our heads and into our bodies using ancient wisdom, feminine energy, and nervous system regulation to explore what it looks like to move forward without forcing clarity. Through the Taoist concept of wu wei, a perfectly timed Justice tarot card, and an Emu spirit animal pull that made me laugh out loud, we’ll explore the difference between aligned action and trying to control an outcome because you’re uncomfortable with uncertainty. We’ll talk about: How overthinking and control can keep you stuck instead of creating clarity Why pushing harder can contribute to burnout and overwhelm How wu wei teaches us to take aligned action without forcing Why reconnecting with your feminine energy requires learning to receive before you respond How slowing your nervous system can help you hear what you already know A simple embodiment practice for finding alignment and discerning your next step Why creating true work-life balance may require less optimization—and more trust You don’t need an aerial view of your entire life. You don't need to have your career, relationships, healing, purpose, and future perfectly mapped out before you're allowed to move. Sometimes the most aligned thing you can do is put your feet underneath you, stop demanding certainty, and listen. Microdose of Courage Take the next logical step. But before you take it, get quiet enough to know which step is actually yours. Receive before you respond. Discern before you execute. Then move. Because recovering from burnout isn't always about doing less. Sometimes it's about recognizing where you're using force instead of alignment—and allowing your feminine energy to remind you that you don't have to control every step to trust yourself with the next one. As Scott Lackey reminded us in this week’s conversation: Walk the way, and the way will appear. Want to keep this work going? When Did You Stop Being You? How to Find Your Way Back | Scott Lackey

When did you stop being you? Not all at once. Maybe it happened every time you said yes when you wanted to say no. Every time you chose what was expected over what you actually wanted. Every time you handed another tiny piece of yourself to a job, a relationship, a role, or the version of you everyone else needed you to be. Until one day, you look around at a life you helped build and wonder: Where the hell did I go? This episode is a little different. It’s the finale of my very first FitZen Book Club, where Lisa and I sat down with Scott Lackey, author of Wake Up to Die Again, after spending weeks reading, discussing, and questioning the hell out of his story. And what started as a conversation about the book became something much bigger. 🍋 THE SQUEEZE Scott describes what happens when we slowly give pieces of ourselves away—and why we often don’t realize how far we’ve wandered until we wake up feeling empty. But finding your way back doesn’t require having your entire life figured out. Sometimes, you just need to know which direction is yours. 🧃 THE JUICE In this conversation, we get into: What Scott understands about his own story now that he couldn't have known while writing it The fear of creating something when you're convinced nobody will care How we slowly give pieces of ourselves away without realizing it Why hitting a low point can force you to finally pay attention The difference between measuring your life by distance versus direction What our scars reveal—and what happens when we stop hiding them The terrifying freedom of letting people see who you actually are Why you don't need to know the entire path before taking your next step What Scott's readers have taught him about the book he wrote The question Scott is asking himself now: What am I being called to wake up to next? And somewhere in the middle of all of it, we come back to one simple truth: Walk the way, and the way will appear. 💊 MICRODOSE OF COURAGE This week, don't figure out your entire life. Ask yourself: What direction do I know I want to move in? Then take the next logical step. One email. One conversation. One decision. One honest admission to yourself. You don't need proof that you're going to end up exactly where you think you're going. You just need enough courage to take the next step toward yourself. 📩 KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING If you want to keep doing this work with me, join The Weekly Change Request—my free weekly email where we take the conversations happening on the podcast and turn them into something you can actually use in your life. Girl, What’s My Weakness? MEN!

Girl, What’s My Weakness? MEN! You can lead meetings, manage crises, and handle almost everything on your own—but one man changes his tone, and suddenly you’re asking three friends what to do. Girl…what’s your weakness? In this episode, Rachel gets honest about the years she gave her power away in romantic relationships—outsourcing decisions, managing other people’s emotions, softening her boundaries, and confusing control with safety. This isn’t an episode about blaming men. It’s about recognizing the moment you stop trusting yourself in love—and learning how to let the cards fall where they fall. Inside this episode: Why you can feel powerful everywhere except in your relationships How managing someone else’s emotions becomes self-abandonment What the victimhood triangle has to do with outsourced decisions Why your partner’s reaction is not yours to manage How yoga and project management can teach you to stay in your own lane The difference between responding and reacting How to begin trusting your own judgment again Your Microdose of Courage Ask yourself: “If I trusted my own judgment, what would I do?” Then take one small action that honors your answer—before asking someone else what they think. If you’re ready to lower your emotional armor, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and learn to receive support without losing your freedom, you’re in the right place. How to Speak Your Truth Without Attacking Your Partner or Backing Down

You finally say what hurts—but are you communicating your truth or emotionally discharging it onto your partner? Using the right therapy words doesn’t automatically make a conversation kind, productive, or emotionally safe. But keeping quiet to avoid conflict isn’t the answer either. You shouldn’t have to choose between weaponizing your pain and abandoning yourself to keep the peace. In this Yoga mini, we explore how two yogic principles can help you recognize the moment your body prepares for war—and create enough space to tell the truth without attacking your partner or backing down from what you genuinely need. Because yoga isn’t only what happens on your mat. It’s the moment you notice your impulse to strike, defend, appease, or disappear—and remember that you still have a choice. Stay until the end for a guided practice and your Microdose of Courage to use before your next difficult conversation. Your feelings deserve a voice. The person you love deserves their humanity. And you deserve relationships where truth and kindness can exist in the same room. Doing Everything—and Resenting Your Partner? Make This Change Request

“Why do I have to do everything?” If that sentence keeps running through your mind, your relationship may have a scope problem. High-achieving women are excellent at noticing gaps and closing them. You handle the laundry, schedule the appointments, plan the vacation, manage the calendar—and eventually, the responsibilities you silently accepted become the receipts you present during an argument. What began as helpfulness quietly becomes hostility. In this Project Management mini, you’ll discover how to recognize relationship scope creep and turn one responsibility you resent into a clear change request to your partner—before your resentment becomes contempt. Because an unspoken expectation is not an agreement, and waiting for your partner to notice what everything is costing you is not a sustainable relationship-management system. Your Microdose of Courage Submit one relationship change request. Name the responsibility. Tell the truth about its impact. Request the change. If you can lead confidently at work but begin questioning yourself when your partner is unhappy, join the free Weekly Change Request for one email and one courageous action each week to help you practice staying on your own side. How to Say What Hurts Without Destroying What You Love—even When You’re Right

How to Say What Hurts Without Destroying What You Love Your pain can be completely valid—and you can still be wrong in the way you treat someone you love. What began as date night for the couple sitting beside us became a public unraveling of thirteen years of resentment. She felt like she had to do everything. He kept apologizing. And then one sentence—and one visible exhale—changed who I thought needed The FitZen Project. In this episode, you’ll discover: The line between communicating your pain and punishing your partner with it. How the fixer’s helpfulness can quietly harden into hostility. What one exhausted husband revealed about managing someone else’s emotions. If you’ve ever thought, “Why do I have to do everything?”—or apologized simply to end the argument—this conversation may show you a side of the pattern you haven’t considered. Stay until the end for your Microdose of Courage: one small action to address resentment before it becomes contempt. Because your pain deserves to be acknowledged—but your hurt does not give you permission to hurt someone else. You are your most important project. If you can make decisions at work but one unhappy look from your partner makes you question yourself, you don’t need more advice—you need practice staying on your own side. Your Partner Is Upset—Does That Mean Your Decision Was Wrong?

You made the decision. You set the boundary. You said no. Then your partner got upset—and suddenly you're explaining, backpedaling, apologizing, or wondering if you were wrong in the first place. This week, we're taking our Microdose of Courage onto the yoga mat. THE SQUEEZE What if the hardest part of keeping a promise to yourself isn't making the decision? It's staying with yourself when someone you love doesn't like it. THE JUICE Today, I'm showing you what your yoga practice can teach you about staying with a decision when someone else's discomfort makes you want to abandon it. Because your relationship has Warrior II moments. Your body gets uncomfortable. Your brain wants out. And your instinct is to do whatever will make that discomfort disappear. But yoga gives us a safe place to practice something different: noticing the discomfort, breathing, creating space, and deciding whether something is actually wrong—or simply uncomfortable. And that's the practice we're taking off the mat. Your partner's disappointment doesn't automatically mean your decision was wrong. YOUR MICRODOSE OF COURAGE Keep one small promise to yourself—even if someone you love doesn't like it. When the discomfort comes: Take a breath. Feel your feet. Unclench your jaw. Notice where you're gripping. Then ask yourself: Do I actually want to change my decision—or am I just trying to make this discomfort go away? And then choose. The goal isn't to never change your mind. It's to stop automatically abandoning yourself just because someone else is unhappy. KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING If this gave you something to work on this week, join my newsletter through the link in the show notes. That's where we take these conversations a little deeper—relationships, boundaries, self-trust, and what it actually looks like to choose yourself when someone you love isn't happy about it. Why You Trust Yourself at Work—but Second-Guess Everything in Your Relationship

You keep your commitments at work. You make decisions. You deliver. People trust you. So why does all that confidence seem to disappear when your partner is unhappy with a decision you've made? THE SQUEEZE How many promises have you made to yourself in your relationship that you've broken the second your partner didn't like them? THE JUICE Today, I'm showing you how project managers use commitments to build trust—and what that can teach you about rebuilding trust with yourself. Because when a project repeatedly misses its commitments, eventually it doesn't just lose a deadline. It loses credibility. Your relationship with yourself works the same way. In this Project Management mini, we're taking Jack McFen's insight from this week's long-form conversation—when you stop breaking promises to yourself, you start trusting yourself more—and putting it into practice. We'll look at what happens when you say no and then change it to yes, promise yourself you won't engage in another disrespectful conversation and then engage anyway, or give away the time you said you'd take for yourself because your partner is upset. Your brain is keeping track. It's looking for evidence that your word can be trusted. YOUR MICRODOSE OF COURAGE Make one commitment to yourself small enough that you can actually keep it. Maybe it's: I'm not explaining my no twice. I'm taking the 30 minutes I said I'd take. If this conversation becomes disrespectful, I'm stepping away. Then follow through. Because every time you do, you're giving yourself another piece of evidence that your word can be trusted. And remember: your partner's reaction doesn't automatically cancel your commitment. KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING If this gave you something to work on this week, join my newsletter through the link in the show notes. That's where we take these conversations deeper—relationships, boundaries, self-trust, and what it actually looks like to choose yourself when someone you love isn't happy about it. Successful at Everything—So Why Are You Losing Yourself in Your Relationship?

What happens when keeping the peace becomes how you measure your worth—and you realize the life you're working so hard to hold together might not even be the life you want? THE JUICE In this episode, you'll discover: How to tell if the success you're chasing is actually yours—or just something you've been taught to want. The cost you pay every time you people-please and make keeping everyone else happy your responsibility. What happens to your relationship with yourself when you stop trusting your own decisions. I sat down with Jack McFen, host of Average Jacks, for a conversation that started with one big question: What the hell does success even mean? We talk about external validation, comparison, failure, people-pleasing, boundaries, non-negotiables, and what happens when you've become so good at showing up for everyone else that you stop showing up for yourself. Because you can be successful as hell and still measure your worth by how happy everyone around you is—especially in your relationships. And maybe success isn't keeping everybody happy. Maybe it's trusting yourself even when they're unhappy. YOUR MICRODOSE OF COURAGE Keep one promise to yourself—even if someone you love doesn't like it. Maybe it's a no you've been afraid to say. A boundary you keep negotiating. Or a decision you already know is right for you. One promise. Keep it. You don't rebuild self-trust by getting everyone else to agree with you. You rebuild it by showing yourself: I can trust me, even when they're unhappy. ABOUT JACK Jack McFen is the host of Average Jacks, a podcast built around real people, real growth, and redefining what success actually looks like for the everyday person. Jack and I get into the messy middle of ambition, fulfillment, comparison, relationships, and learning to recognize the small wins that actually build a life. Can You Let Them Be Mad? The Yoga of Letting Go For Your Relationship

What if the thing exhausting you in your relationship isn't just the conflict? What if it's your grip on how the conflict needs to end? I need them to understand me. I need them to stop being mad. I need them to agree. I need this tension to go away. I need us to be okay again so I can finally be okay. That grip is where yoga enters the conversation. In this FitZen yoga mini, we're taking the yogic principle of aparigraha—or non-grasping—and applying it to our relationships. Because sometimes you're not grasping onto the person. You're grasping onto the outcome. And yoga isn't just what happens when your body is in a pose. Sometimes yoga happens in the moment your entire body screams: Fix it. Explain. Text again. Apologize. Make them understand. Make this feeling go away. And instead—you stay. THE 3 JUICE SQUEEZES 🍊 1. You may be grasping for an outcome, not a person. Their approval. Their reassurance. Their agreement. For the conversation to end well. For them to stop being disappointed. For everything to feel okay again so you can finally feel okay. Recognizing the grasp is the first part of the practice. 2. Non-grasping doesn't mean you stop caring. Aparigraha isn't about becoming cold, detached, or indifferent. It's learning to loosen your grip on controlling another person's response so you can remain connected to yourself. Their reaction belongs to them. Your integrity belongs to you. 3. The moment you want to fix it IS the yoga. Can you say what's true for you without trying to control what happens after you say it? Can you notice the urge to explain, apologize, text again, or make everything okay—and stay? Take a breath. Feel your feet. Notice what's happening in your body. And remind yourself: I can feel this and still stay with myself. YOUR MICRODOSE OF COURAGE 🍊 The next time you feel the urge to fix someone's reaction to you, don't immediately act. Give yourself one breath. Feel your feet on the ground. Inhale. Exhale. Then ask: What am I grasping for right now? Their approval? Reassurance? Agreement? An apology? For the tension to disappear? Then remind yourself: I can want that without making my peace dependent on getting it. That's the practice. Not perfect detachment. Not never people-pleasing again. One tiny moment where you notice the grasp and loosen your grip. Because coming home to yourself doesn't always require some massive courageous decision. Sometimes it's one tiny Microdose of Courage where you choose not to abandon yourself just because somebody else is uncomfortable. Alignment is the new hustle because you are your most important project. Doing All the Work in Your Relationship? RACI That Shit.

Are you doing all the emotional work in your relationship—and calling it partnership? You remember everything. Initiate the hard conversations. Repair the fights. Manage the tension. Keep track of what needs to happen. Anticipate problems before they become problems. And somehow, when someone else drops the ball, you’re the one figuring out how to pick it back up. No wonder you're exhausted. In the last episode, we asked the uncomfortable question: What would happen to your relationship if you stopped holding it together? Now we're taking that question one step further—and we're bringing in project management. Because when ownership is unclear on a project, work gets missed, duplicated, or quietly picked up by the most competent person in the room. Sound familiar? In this FitZen Project mini, I'm taking one of my favorite project management tools—the RACI matrix—and using it to help you figure out what you're actually responsible for in your relationship…and what was never yours to carry in the first place. THE 3 JUICE SQUEEZES 🍊 1. Caring about someone doesn't make you responsible for their work. Their emotions. Their responsibilities. Their relationship with the kids. Their consequences. You can deeply care about someone without automatically assigning yourself ownership of whatever they're struggling with. 2. Somebody else's “R” may have quietly ended up on your project plan. RACI separates who is Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed. If you're somehow all four for damn near everything in your relationship, that's not shared ownership. That's a really shitty resource allocation plan. 3. Before you set another boundary, get clear on ownership. Ask: What's mine? What's theirs? What actually belongs to both of us? Then ask the harder question: What have I assigned myself ownership of simply because I'm afraid of what will happen if I don't? YOUR MICRODOSE OF COURAGE Pick one thing you've been carrying in your relationship and RACI that shit. Write it down: Who is Responsible? Who is Accountable? Where should you only be Consulted? Where do you simply need to be Informed? Then notice where you've quietly promoted yourself to project manager of somebody else's shit. Don't blow anything up. Don't dramatically announce your resignation. Just notice. And this week, practice handing one piece of ownership back to the person it actually belongs to. Because you are your most important project. But you were never meant to be the project manager of someone else's life. Alignment is the new hustle. What Happens to Your Relationship When You Stop Holding It Together?

What if the only reason your relationship is “okay” is because you’re working overtime to keep it that way? You bring up the hard conversations. You choose your words carefully. You apologize first. You smooth over the tension. You explain yourself 47 different ways. You anticipate their moods, lower your expectations, and fix problems before they ever have to experience the consequences. And you’re fucking exhausted. But stopping feels terrifying—because what happens to the relationship if you’re no longer the one holding it together? In this episode of The FitZen Project, we’re getting into why high-functioning women can become so damn good at managing their relationships that they don’t realize how much of the relationship they’re actually carrying. THE 3 JUICE SQUEEZES 🍊 1. Keeping the peace may have started as protection. Being able to read the room, anticipate someone’s mood, and adjust accordingly can become a powerful skill. But when your ability to feel okay depends on everyone else being okay with you, peace starts looking a whole lot more like survival. 2. Protection eventually becomes management. You may not be trying to control your partner—you may be trying to control how much discomfort you have to experience. If you can get them to stop being angry, understand your point, forgive you, or make the tension disappear, then finally… you can relax. The problem? Now your peace depends on someone else’s emotional state. 3. The real work is learning you can handle what happens when you stop. Holding the boundary isn’t always the hardest part. Sitting in the silence, disappointment, anger, tension, or uncertainty afterward might be. This is where self-trust gets built: I can feel this and still stay with myself. And when you stop doing the work of two people, you finally get honest information about the relationship you’re actually in. YOUR MICRODOSE OF COURAGE Ask yourself: What am I doing to keep the peace in my relationship that I’m absolutely exhausted from doing? And then: What am I afraid might happen if I stopped? You don’t have to fix it today. You don’t have to make a massive decision. Just stop protecting yourself from the information. Because you can’t get clear on the relationship you truly desire while using all your energy trying to keep the relationship you currently have from falling apart. Alignment is the new hustle. And you are your most important project. Lotus and Luna Link provides 20% off (sale items not included) Liforme Yoga Mats Use code RACHELF10 at checkout for a discount! How to Break Old Patterns and Actually Change Your Life

You know which pattern needs to change. You know the people-pleasing is making you resentful. You know perfectionism is keeping you stuck. You know being the strong one has made it nearly impossible to ask for help. So why do you keep repeating it? Awareness is powerful—but recognizing an old survival pattern does not automatically change the way you live. In this FitZen Mini, Rachel takes Christopher Wesley’s work on survival scripts and applies integrated change control from project management to help you break old patterns without burning your entire life down. Because not everything about your current identity needs to be demolished. Some qualities still serve you. Some need a healthier expression. And some have completed their assignment and are ready to be released. Through this identity change request, you’ll learn how to: Identify the real cost of leaving an old pattern unchanged Anticipate how changing it may affect your relationships, routines, and responsibilities Decide what parts of your current identity you want to keep, modify, and release Choose one visible action that proves the change has begun Create a specific owner and deadline for the change—because insight without action is just paperwork You don’t need to wait until everyone understands. You don’t need to feel completely confident. And you definitely don’t need to launch a hostile takeover of your entire identity. You only need to choose one pattern and take one courageous action within the next seven days. Listen now to move beyond understanding your survival patterns and begin changing the way they operate in your life. This is the final installment of the Christopher Wesley series: Christopher helped us understand why the old identity formed. Svadhyaya helped us hear the script without automatically obeying it. This identity change request helps us move from awareness into action. Because you can appreciate how a pattern once protected you without giving it a lifetime contract. Alignment is the new hustle—and you are your most important project. Lotus and Luna Link provides 20% off (sale items not included) Liforme Yoga Mats Use code RACHELF10 at checkout for a discount! How to Stop People-Pleasing, Perfecting, and Overfunctioning| A Guided Self-Study Practice

You keep calling it your personality: “I’m just a perfectionist.” “I’ve always been the responsible one.” “I’m not good at asking for help.” But what if people-pleasing, perfecting, and overfunctioning aren’t simply who you are? What if they’re survival patterns you learned when you needed to feel safe, accepted, or in control? In this guided FitZen Mini, Rachel uses svadhyaya—the yogic practice of self-study—to help you recognize the protective voice influencing your decisions and create space to choose differently. Through this practice, you’ll learn how to: Recognize when an old survival script is making decisions for you Understand what your people-pleasing, perfectionism, or overfunctioning is trying to protect you from Pause before automatically obeying the pattern and choose what you actually need now You don’t have to silence the voice, shame the pattern, or reinvent your entire life today. You only need to notice when the script starts talking—and remember that hearing it doesn’t mean you have to obey it. Listen now and discover the difference between who you are and who you learned to be. This mini supports Rachel’s full conversation with Christopher J. Wesley about identity, imagination, and rewriting the survival scripts that quietly shape our lives. Because the voice that protected you once doesn’t automatically get the final vote now.
