We are here to talk about how we may come together for the betterment of our country and our own well-being. Mike Stevens -- CEO, Navy League / Author, No Excuses
Mike Stevens serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Navy League of the United States, a role he took on in January 2019 after a 33-year career in the U.S. Navy that culminated in his service as the 13th Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy from 2012 to 2016, the senior enlisted advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations. His naval career began in 1983 at the Aviation Structural Mechanic Apprentice School in Millington, Tennessee, and spanned a wide range of technical and leadership roles, including Helicopter Crew Chief, Navy Recruiter, Officer Candidate School Instructor, and Command Master Chief assignments at Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Atlantic, U.S. 2nd Fleet, and U.S. Fleet Forces Command. David Randall -- National Association of Scholars
David Randall is Director of Research at the National Association of Scholars (NAS), where he has written extensively on higher education policy and academic integrity. He earned a Ph.D. in history from Rutgers University, an M.F.A. in fiction writing from Columbia University, a master's degree in library science from the Palmer School at Long Island University, and a B.A. from Swarthmore College. Matthew Gibson -- Virginia Humanities
Matthew Gibson is the Executive Director of Virginia Humanities, a role he was appointed to in 2017, where he has led the organization's branding, visioning, and strategic planning efforts. He got his start in the digital and public humanities while pursuing his MA and PhD in English and American Studies at the University of Virginia, and in 1998 became assistant, and later associate, director of the University's Electronic Text Center. In 2005, he joined Virginia Humanities (then known as the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities) to create and build Encyclopedia Virginia, and between 2008 and 2013 helped build a $2.5 million endowment to secure the editor's position and the project's future. As director of digital initiatives beginning in 2008, he served as principal investigator and director for three NEH grants and helped secure an organization-wide award from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for a two-year project engaging local communities on racism and bias in Virginia's historical narratives. In 2021, he led a fundraising and planning effort to relocate Virginia Humanities' offices and build the state's first public humanities center. Captain Kevin Miller, USN (Ret.) -- Author: "The Silver Waterfall"
Captain Kevin Miller, USN (Ret.), is a 24-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and a former tactical naval aviator who operationally flew the F/A-18C Hornet and A-7E Corsair II. He is the author of the Raven One trilogy of contemporary carrier aviation fiction, and in June 2020 he published his long-awaited historical novel, The Silver Waterfall, which went on to win five writing awards, including the 2023 CIBA Hemingway Award for excellence in 20th Century Wartime Fiction. The book tells the story of the men who fought the Battle of Midway over three momentous days in June 1942, capturing their uncertainty, determination, fear, and courage under crushing pressure. Drawing on his years as a naval aviator flying combat aircraft from carriers, in command, and on command staffs, along with his association with the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation, which gave him access to rare documents and knowledgeable sources, Miller brought an authentic sense of cockpit and command reality to the novel's characters. Roswell Encina is the President and CEO of the United States Capitol Historical Society and a longtime leader in the library and cultural heritage community, bringing more than 18 years of experience in libraries, including nine years on the executive leadership team of the Library of Congress as Chief Communications Officer. Born in the Philippines, he grew up dreaming of becoming a broadcast journalist and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Salisbury State University after first studying marketing management in Manila. He has more than twenty-five years of experience in media and communications, beginning with over a decade in broadcast journalism as an Emmy-nominated, Associated Press award-winning reporter across markets including Salisbury, Huntsville, Birmingham, Memphis, and Baltimore. He then served as Director of Communications at Baltimore's Enoch Pratt Free Library starting in 2007, working closely with Carla Hayden. When Hayden became Librarian of Congress, Encina was appointed the Library of Congress's Chief Communications Officer in November 2016, where he oversaw a portfolio of more than 130 staff across Communications, Multimedia, Visitor Engagement, and Learning and Outreach, managing an annual budget of roughly 100 million dollars, and helped lead high-visibility programs such as the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song and the National Book Festival. Taylor Kiland -- Author
Taylor Baldwin Kiland is a writer who specializes in military nonfiction, having written, co-authored, ghost-written, or edited eighteen books, including three about the nation's Vietnam POWs: Unwavering: The Wives Who Fought to Ensure No Man is Left Behind, Lessons from the Hanoi Hilton: Six Characteristics of High-Performance Teams, and Open Doors: Vietnam POWs Thirty Years Later. Anita B. McBride is an American academic and former government official who served in the White House under three presidential administrations, most notably as Chief of Staff to the First Lady of the United States under Laura Bush from 2005 to 2009. Jim Roberts -- American Veterans Center

Dr. Doug Bradburn -- George Washington’s Mount Vernon
