Seemingly, what is the lesson for everyone – how can it be expected of every individual (even one for whom the majority of his years have already passed, and with some of them spent doing undesirable things), that all his years should be equally good? The answer is that everyone can correct the past through teshuvah. This also explains the statement in Tanya that “The level of the beinoni is the level attainable by every person, and every person should strive after it”: Seemingly, a beinoni is one who “has never committed a sin in his life”? The answer is that teshuvah (out of love) can transform even intentional sins into actual merits. This is the eternal lesson from “the years of Sarah’s life”: through teshuvah every Jew has the power to attain a state in which “all his days are equally good.” And as with every mitzvah, this must be done with joy – particularly the joy of knowing that Hashem has given him the ability to correct the past. Synopsis

On the verse (in rishon of parashas Chayei Sarah), “…the years of Sarah’s life,” Rashi states: “All were equally good”?
