There are some good performances, but there’s also some bad dialogue delivered poorly. It’s fun to go back to that farmhouse and see it in a different light, even if some parts work better than others. After watching this movie, I spent about a month convinced there might be triffids lurking among the trees! Today, I revisit this classic tale of killer plants and a world plunged into chaos—and remember how it turned an ordinary after-school walk into a daily horror adventure. We look at what we actually know about the Mary Celeste, the theories surrounding the disappearance, and how a real maritime mystery grew into the legend of one of history’s most famous “ghost ships.” It’s history, mystery, a little maritime folklore, and the perfect way to leave summer behind and sail into the darker days of fall. The ship was found. The people were gone. Spooky season begins.
