The Civilization Archive Dialogues is part of The Archive Network by Jonkai Ventures, a collection of podcasts dedicated to the stories that shaped our world.

Every episode is a conversation. Aurelius and Malik, curators of The Civilization Archive, take a single civilization — the Abbasids, the Aztecs, Joseon Korea, the Songhai Empire — and follow it from first settlement to whatever came after. One traces what it built: the irrigation that fed a city, the bureaucracy that held a continent together, the ideas it kept exporting long after its armies stopped marching. The other presses on what that cost — who farmed the surplus, who was conquered to supply it, and why the collapse was often already visible during the golden age.

These are not summaries. Each episode is one complete civilization, examined from both sides in a single sitting.
