Bria Lane Papia | The Bitcoin Nova #109

What happens when a female medical device leader and a Bitcoin convert meet at exactly the right moment? You get a conversation about chronic pain, spinal cord stimulation, and the unexpected way a finance class led to Bitcoin ownership, deeper conviction, and a new sense of freedom. Staci sits down with Bria Lane Papia, a veteran in medical device sales at Saluda Medical, who explains how modern spinal cord stimulation is changing the way doctors treat patients with chronic pain. Bria breaks down how the technology works, why precision dosing matters, and how minimally invasive treatment can help some patients reduce opioids, regain mobility, and reclaim quality of life. You'll discover: How spinal cord stimulation evolved from a 1967-era concept into a highly refined, patient-specific therapy Why Saluda Medical focuses on precise electrical dosing, trial periods, and long-term outcomes What patients actually experience during implantation, charging, and recovery Why insurance approval and physician selection can shape access to care How yoga, mobility, and small daily movement habits connect to long-term spine health Then the conversation shifts into something bigger. Bria shares how COVID, job uncertainty, and fear of financial instability pushed her back to school, where an executive master's program introduced her to Bitcoin and the blockchain. That moment changed everything - not just her view of money, but her sense of what freedom, planning, and generational wealth could look like. If you care about health innovation, women speaking up in male-dominated spaces, or the real-world reasons people start questioning the traditional system, this episode delivers. It's part medical education, part personal transformation, and part Bitcoin awakening - with a story that connects the body, the balance sheet, and the future. Perfect for listeners who want practical insight, a powerful origin story, and a reminder that the right information can show up exactly when you need it most. 00:04 Empowering Women in Podcasting 01:54 Bria's Journey in Medical Device Sales 05:20 Innovations in Pain Management 08:59 The Role of Physical and Mental Health 12:20 Understanding Spinal Cord Stimulation 16:27 The Future of Pain Management Technology 19:48 Navigating Insurance and Treatment Options 22:34 The Implantation Process Explained 25:44 The Importance of Patient Empowerment 29:56 Yoga and Overall Health 34:16 Cultural Practices and Mobility 35:37 The Importance of Movement and Long-Term Thinking 38:50 Navigating Life's Challenges: A Personal Journey 44:27 The Awakening: Discovering Bitcoin During Crisis 49:29 Bitcoin Education: Insights from an Advanced Finance Class 56:24 Finding Freedom Through Bitcoin: A New Perspective Follow Bria: https://x.com/BriaLanePapia

Anthony & Danielle Luna | The Bitcoin Nova #108

How can Bitcoin strengthen a marriage, shape intentional parenting, and help families teach kids about money? Staci sits down with Anthony and Danielle Luna, hosts of the Bitcoin podcast To the Moon with the Lunas, to explore Bitcoin family values, financial literacy for kids, and building a meaningful life together. Anthony first fell down the Bitcoin rabbit hole while Danielle was focused on raising their three young children. Instead of keeping Bitcoin as his thing, they started a podcast so she could learn from other Bitcoiners at her own pace. The result was a shared mission that helped them connect, create, and grow together. They discuss marriage communication and staying on the same team, chores versus allowances, saving sats for children, gratitude, work ethic, homeschooling, entrepreneurship, college versus real world experience, digital distractions, and raising critical thinkers. Anthony also shares how he began working at sixteen and gave his paychecks to his mother so their family could leave a difficult living situation. At its heart, this episode is about more than money. It is about Bitcoin, marriage, parenting, purpose, and creating a family culture rooted in responsibility, curiosity, and time together. Eric FJ | CEO of Conduit Market | The Bitcoin Nova #106

Btc and Nostr are colliding with e-commerce, and Eric FJ says the real opportunity is not another closed platform - it is an open marketplace where users can actually own their identity, move freely, and get paid in Bitcoin. Staci sits down with Eric FJ, the builder behind Conduit, to unpack why open-source systems, interoperable marketplaces, and Nostr-native commerce may be the missing piece for making Bitcoin useful at everyday scale. If you have ever felt trapped by social platforms, payment processors, or app ecosystems that control your reach, this conversation will hit home. This conversation is especially meaningful to me because I recorded it shortly after accepting a role with Conduit, and we officially announced that I’m joining the team as Head of Community just before this episode was released. I’m incredibly honored and excited to work alongside a company building freedom tech on open networks, powered by freedom money. Conduit represents so much of what drew me to Bitcoin in the first place: open systems, individual choice, resilience, and creating real tools that people can actually use. You’ll discover: Why Eric came to Nostr after reading Lynn Alden’s Broken Money and why the protocol immediately felt different from traditional social media How open source changes the incentive structure for apps, merchants, and users Why “switching costs” are the hidden weapon of closed platforms - and how Nostr flips that dynamic What Conduit is building as an interoperable marketplace layer for NIP-99 commerce How AI now lets non-coders inspect open-source code and verify what an app is really doing Why Bitcoin needs real settlement demand, not just paper narratives and treasury-company hype How merchants can start stacking sats by selling real goods through Bitcoin-native rails Eric also breaks down the long-term Bitcoin thesis in plain language, from base-layer settlement and mining incentives to why open systems may be the only way to build something resilient enough to survive attacks, deplatforming, or centralized failure. Staci brings the perspective of a Bitcoin creator, merchant, and community builder, connecting the dots between social control, attention economy addiction, and the freedom that decentralized tools can restore. Eric FJ is a builder in the Nostr ecosystem and the creator behind Conduit, a Bitcoin and Nostr marketplace project focused on open, interoperable commerce. He also hosts The Open Markets Podcast, where he explores the future of Bitcoin-native marketplaces and open standards. Perfect for Bitcoiners, Nostr users, merchants, builders, and anyone who wants to understand where decentralized commerce is actually heading. If you care about sovereignty, open protocols, and turning Bitcoin from a holding asset into a living economy, this episode is for you. Steve Keider | Engineer at Swan | Coldcard Incident Insights | The Bitcoin Nova #105

Coldcard incident explained with Swan engineer Steve Keider Staci is joined by Steve Keider, an engineer at Swan, to break down the ongoing Coldcard incident, what appears to have gone wrong, and why the recommended response is broader than just affected devices. They also dig into how AI-assisted red teaming is changing both Bitcoiners just got a brutal reminder that self-custody is only as safe as the code behind it. Swan engineer Steve Keider breaks down the Coldcard incident, how a seed-generation flaw opened the door to compromise, and why this is pushing the entire Bitcoin security stack into a new era of AI-assisted red teaming. Staci and Steve trace what happened in the first hours after the issue surfaced, why the recommendation is still to move funds off affected Coldcard-generated seeds, and how a vulnerability in wallet firmware can create risk long after a device is updated. They also dig into the scale of the blast radius, the likely timeline of the attack, and why the on-chain behavior suggests a small, highly motivated actor rather than a nation-state operation. You'll hear how open-weight AI models are changing defensive security work, why frontier models with safety guardrails can be a bad fit for legitimate audits, and how engineers now need to think like attackers to protect Bitcoin infrastructure. Steve explains the concept of adversarial reviews, why bug bounties matter more than ever, and what this incident reveals about the tension between privacy, usability, and extreme self-custody rituals. The conversation also widens into the bigger picture: what open source and source-available code mean for security, why multi-sig and multi-manufacturer setups are becoming more attractive, and how collective Bitcoiners using AI may become the best line of defense against future exploits. If you care about Bitcoin security, hardware wallets, AI safety, or the real-world consequences of one hidden bug, this episode is essential listening. Steve Keider is an engineer at Swan, where he works on Bitcoin security and technical analysis. He helped investigate the Coldcard vulnerability and has been actively involved in the community response and red-teaming effort. BIP 110, Bitcoin Core, and Knots: What Happens Next?

Who decides the rules of Bitcoin? In this episode, Staci speaks with Brian, known online as Fundamentals, about BIP 110, Bitcoin Core, Bitcoin Knots, mining power, node power, and the growing debate over Bitcoin governance. Can ordinary Bitcoin nodes determine the rules of the network, or do they primarily give users the power to resist rules they reject? What happens if BIP 110 activates without broad miner support? Could the disagreement create a chain split or even lead to a proof of work change? Staci and Brian explore both sides of this complicated debate, including concerns about spam and permanent data on the Bitcoin blockchain, censorship resistance, Bitcoin Core development, miner signaling, decentralized governance, and the difference between having a vote and having a veto. They also discuss why Bitcoin conversations become so hostile online, the importance of communicating across disagreements, and why technical knowledge gives Bitcoin users greater sovereignty. Later in the episode, Brian introduces Magic Internet Math, his educational project designed to help Bitcoiners understand the mathematics and cryptography behind Bitcoin. The conversation explores elliptic curve cryptography, the secp256k1 library, verifying Bitcoin for yourself, and why protecting your mind matters just as much as protecting your private keys. Brian hosts several podcasts, including Rock Paper Bitcoin, Magic Internet Math, Back on the Chain, Sound Coffee, and Fundamentals of Fundamentals. Understanding Bitcoin Core’s Controversial Policy Change

One of my biggest takeaways was admitting that I got something wrong. I believe Bitcoin Core’s decision to quickly reject Luke Dashjr’s proposal while simultaneously changing the default policy limit primarily benefited the largest miners and squeezed out smaller ones. Michael explained that the intent was actually the opposite. The concern was that Bitcoin’s relay policy had drifted away from Bitcoin’s consensus rules, creating situations where larger miners could gain an advantage. The policy change was intended to bring those back into alignment. Whether you agree with that reasoning or not, I think it’s important to understand why the change was made before forming an opinion. We also discuss why this became so controversial. The timing of the funding announcement involving Brink/Epstein, combined with the policy change, led many people to question incentives. Add in poor communication, a perceived “trust us” attitude from Core , snowballed into the polarization that we see today. If nothing else, I hope this episode helps people better understand the arguments from both sides so we can have a more informed conversation. Bitcoin Solves The Cannabis Industry's Biggest Problem

Most entrepreneurs are flying blind in industries penalized by legacy financial systems until now. Andrew Tillman shares how he built a cannabis startup from scratch during a time when banking was nearly impossible, revealing the hidden power of Bitcoin to transform regulation, payments, and access in one of the most cash intensive markets. In this episode, discover how Andrew's engineering background allowed him to create a fully operational cannabis processing plant in a legal landscape riddled with obstacles, including high fees, regulatory barriers, and cash risks. You'll learn why traditional banking relentlessly hinders cannabis businesses and how Bitcoin offers a revolutionary solution that can unlock freedom and financial sovereignty for millions. Andrew breaks down the core challenges facing the industry: the race to the bottom on margins, violent cash smuggling, and the inability to access traditional funding. He explains how Bitcoin can eliminate these barriers, empowering cannabis entrepreneurs with borderless, permissionless money that aligns with their values of freedom and independence. But this revolution isn't limited to cannabis. Andrew reveals his vision for the Midwest Bitcoin Summit, an event rooted in community, accessibility, and real world impact, especially for underserved regions affected by economic decline. With plans to fund education through the Bitcoin Scholarship Foundation, Andrew's mission is clear: revitalize communities and build wealth from the ground up using the world's best monetary network. Whether you're a Bitcoin maximalist, an entrepreneur, or simply curious about where Bitcoin is headed, this episode offers a blueprint for how cannabis and Bitcoin are converging to reshape the future of finance, sovereignty, and opportunity. Unlock the mysteries of Bitcoin mining in this episode packed with insights from Michael “Schnitzel” Schmidt, a seasoned software engineer turned Bitcoin advocate. Discover how the very heat from your home appliances could be your next income source — heating your house with Bitcoin mining heat is just the beginning. This episode is essential if you want to understand the future of decentralized money, how proof of work works like a giant global lottery, and why Bitcoin’s security relies on physics, cryptography, and game theory. You’ll learn: Why heating your home or pool with Bitcoin miners isn’t just smart — it’s revolutionizing energy use. How Bitcoin’s blockchain technology guarantees immutable, transparent transactions without centralized control. The intricate process behind mining, from the cryptographic hashes to the “lottery” of finding the correct hash, and why it’s akin to rolling trillion-sided dice. What makes Bitcoin nearly invulnerable: the proof-of-work system, difficulty adjustments, and the halving schedule that ensures scarcity. Why KYC-free mining and peer-to-peer transactions guard your privacy better than traditional exchanges. The historical context of Bitcoin’s creation, its relation to the Byzantine General’s Problem, and how it became the “digital gold” of the future. Michael Schmidt shares his journey from Switzerland to the forefront of Bitcoin hardware, emphasizing how decentralized systems self-regulate and could operate even if humanity disappears. This is perfect for anyone curious about the technical beauty, economic potential, or philosophical foundations of Bitcoin mining. Whether you're a seasoned miner, a crypto newcomer, or someone dreaming of a world powered by energy-efficient, censorship-resistant money — this episode unlocks the core principles behind Bitcoin’s groundbreaking technology. This Former Lawyer Saw the Missing Piece in Bitcoin Inheritance | Dale Warburton

Most Bitcoin is lost because of user error, not theft. In this episode, Dale Warburton joins me to talk about one of the most overlooked parts of self-custody: Bitcoin inheritance planning. Many Bitcoiners focus heavily on wrench attacks, physical security, and protecting their stack from the outside world. But the biggest risk to your Bitcoin may actually be your own lack of planning. If you do not have a specific plan for your digital assets, the state may determine how your assets are distributed when you are gone. And when it comes to Bitcoin, your intentions may not matter if the right legal documentation and access plan are not in place. Dale Warburton built My Bitcoin Will, the first DIY will starter kit designed for Bitcoin self-custody. In this conversation, we break down the three problems almost every Bitcoiner ignores: ⚖️ The legal problem 🔐 The technical problem 🧠 The educational problem Your family may not know how to access your keys. Your heirs may not understand what they are inheriting. And without the right plan, your Bitcoin could be lost forever or sold in a panic. Dale also shares a real story of recovering Bitcoin from a man who left behind hundreds of pages of handwritten seed phrases — and why only 40% of it was ever found. We talk about treasure maps versus seed phrases, why you should never name Bitcoin directly in your will, air-gapped security, Bitkey, multisig, and the line that stuck with me most: **Everyone fears the wrench attack, but the person most likely to lose your Bitcoin is you.** If you hold your own keys, this is the conversation that helps you protect your family before it is too late. **Do not do nothing. Do something.** 🎙️ Guest: Dale Warburton Founder of My Bitcoin Will and host of The Sovereign Life podcast, formerly The Why Bitcoin Show. 👇 Connect with Dale My Bitcoin Will: [https://mybitcoinwill.com/\](https://mybitcoinwill.com/) X: [https://x.com/Dale21M\](https://x.com/Dale21M) The Sovereign Life podcast: [https://www.youtube.com/@thesovereignlifepod\](https://www.youtube.com/@thesovereignlifepod) 🟠 The Bitcoin Nova Podcast is proudly sponsored by Club Orange — the Bitcoin Social Layer. You're More Asleep Than You Think | Bitcoin Changes That

In this episode of The Bitcoin Nova, I sit down with Host of The Unyppnotized Podcast, Heather Keys to explore what it really means to become “unhypnotized” in a world built on distraction, manipulation, fear, and blind trust in authority. We connect dots between consciousness, awakening, sovereignty, relationships, spirituality, community, and the profound transformation that happens when people begin questioning the systems they once accepted without thought. Heather shares her perspective on how Bitcoin acts as both a practical tool and a spiritual catalyst, helping people reconnect with truth, personal responsibility, intuition, and low time preference living. We talk about the role of trust in modern society, why so many people feel disconnected from themselves, and how Bitcoin often becomes the first domino in a much larger awakening process. Pain Became His Superpower | Mindset Coach Joe Hehn

In this episode, I sit down with Joe Hehn, a mindset coach, speaker, and someone whose perspective was shaped through one of the hardest experiences a person can go through. Joe shares the story of losing his wife to cancer… a moment that didn’t just break his world, but stripped away his identity, his future, and everything he thought life was supposed to be. What followed wasn’t a quick recovery — it was years of grief, searching, traveling, and trying to understand reality itself. That pain became the turning point. Through that journey, Joe became deeply focused on consciousness, mindset, and the idea that the way we interpret life is actually what creates our experience of it. He breaks down concepts like observing your thoughts instead of reacting to them, living in the present moment, and how shifting your perspective can completely change your life. And what made this conversation so interesting… is how that lens connects to Bitcoin. Joe wasn’t trying to “figure out Bitcoin” from a technical standpoint, he was looking at it through human behavior, belief systems, and collective consciousness. We explore how Bitcoin can be seen as a reflection of people choosing sovereignty, truth, and empowerment… and how shared belief can actually shape reality at scale. This conversation goes deep into: • How pain can become the catalyst for transformation • The difference between reacting and observing your thoughts • Why most people live outside the present moment • How mindset shapes your entire experience of life • And how Bitcoin connects to all of this in a way most people don’t think about This one is emotional, philosophical, and honestly… eye-opening. We Are Happy Enough. Lawns are a Psyop. Grass fed Beef, Longevity and Normalizing Baskets.

In this episode, George and Staci talk about their experience at BitBlockBoom, attending for the first time and stepping on stage to share the story of The Bitcoin Army. We get into the energy of the conference and what it felt like being in the Fort Worth Stockyards at the longest-running Bitcoin conference. From there… things take a turn 👀 Then we get suspicious about microplastics, why we even use straws and plastic bags, and why it might be time to normalize baskets for groceries instead. Then we go deeper… Are lawns a psyop? Why are we trained to kill weeds like dandelions when they grow wild and are actually edible? And if cows are “grass-fed”… what kind of grass are they really eating? What are we actually consuming on a daily basis—and who benefits from it? This episode is full of curiosity, questioning, and not blindly accepting what we’ve been told, all with a signature Hive twist of humor. 🎥 And of course, we wrap it all up with a Sarantos video breakdown dissecting the lyrics and visuals, reacting in real time, We react, we roast, and we get through it together… because the best way to process it all is to laugh. 00:00 Welcome Back 05:57 Experiences at the Museum and Casino Night 11:21 The Future of Bitcoin and Its Acceptance 17:15 Health, Longevity, and the Future of Humanity 23:07 The Role of Convenience in Modern Life 31:58 Impact of Hormones and Microplastics on Women's Health 37:47 Cultural Perspectives on Reproduction and Fertility 46:43 The Role of Nature and Weeds in Our Lives 51:52 Exploring Longevity Diets Across Cultures 58:39 Grass-Fed vs. Grain-Fed: Understanding Meat Quality 01:00:25 The Future of Food: Sustainable Farming and Butchery 01:08:12 The Impact of Social Media on Personal Choices 01:11:52 The Evolution of Adult Content and Its Cultural Implications 01:13:30 Microplastics and Cyborgs: A Humorous Take 01:15:02 The Instagram Culture: Seeking Validation 01:16:44 Attention-Seeking Behavior in Modern Society 01:17:58 The Disconnect from Reality: Living Through Screens 01:19:09 The Shift in Social Interactions 01:21:21 The Cost of Socializing: A New Era 01:22:46 Building Community in the Bitcoin Space 01:30:28 The Gray Area of Grooming 01:31:16 Pop Culture References and Humor 01:32:59 Interpersonal Dynamics and Relationships 01:36:16 Eyebrow Commentary and Symbolism 01:38:51 Thematic Analysis of Music and Lyrics 01:41:25 Detective Work and Local Investigations 01:42:04 Cultural References and Nostalgia 01:42:56 Exploring Relationships and Emotional Themes 01:44:18 The Complexity of Happiness 01:45:31 Visual Storytelling and Symbolism 01:47:05 Manipulation and Psychological Insights 01:49:18 Critique of Modern Music and Performance 01:52:31 Musical Moments and Nostalgia 01:55:20 Vegas Plans and Anticipations 01:58:58 Sneaking into Events: The Art of Covert Ops 02:01:09 Surprises and Future Adventures
