Today’s reading from Psalm 74–76 and Romans 9:16–33 invites us to consider what happens inside us when God’s justice seems delayed. Both passages confront the limits of human perspective and remind us that spiritual formation includes learning to trust God’s character even when His timing, decisions, and purposes remain difficult for us to understand.
In Psalm 75, God’s people are reminded that arrogance, power, and apparent success never place anyone beyond God’s authority. The psalm establishes a steady rhythm of gratitude and trust because God Himself determines when judgment comes, who rises, and who falls. That truth forms an identity rooted not in immediate circumstances, but in confidence that God continues to govern justly.
In Romans 9, Paul confronts the human tendency to evaluate God’s choices according to our own expectations of fairness and control. His words call us toward humility, awareness, and a willingness to recognize that God’s purposes extend beyond what we can presently understand, while still inviting a genuine response of faith.
Together, these passages invite us to reflect on what happens within us when justice does not arrive quickly. They encourage us to notice our impatience, our assumptions, and our desire for immediate resolution, while slowly learning to trust that God sees completely, judges fairly, and remains faithful even when we are still waiting.
