Today's reading from Psalm 57-59 and Romans 4 reminds us that God is both our refuge in times of trouble and the One who graciously declares us righteous through faith. In Psalm 57-59, David repeatedly turns to God while surrounded by enemies and uncertainty. In Romans 4, Paul points to Abraham as the example of faith, showing that righteousness has always come through trusting God's promise rather than earning His approval through works. Through Jesus' death and resurrection, God freely justifies those who believe, giving them a right standing with Him as a gift of grace.
Together, these passages invite us to rest in God's faithfulness rather than striving to secure His acceptance. As we continue returning to His Word each day, He forms in us a deeper confidence that our hope has always rested in Him and never in ourselves.
