Monday Motivation #64 | Revealing the Father's Heart: What Biblical Celebrations Teach Us about God

Send me a text about this episode! Today I want to share one final preview article from our first issue of Homemaker’s Journal. So often we think of celebration as our idea—something we plan when life goes well. But in Scripture, celebration begins with God. In today’s episode, Amber Davis will show us that the Father’s heart isn’t distant or disinterested—He’s a welcoming God who sets the table of celebration, calls His children in close, and says, "Come and partake." This article was originally published in Homemaker’s Journal, Issue no 1, spring/summer 2026. EPISODE NOTES Get Homemaker's Journal homemakersjournal.com Connect with Amber website | confidentweakness.com Reflection Questions Our God is the ultimate host of celebrations because He initiates and delights in them. How does this change the way you see your life and the way you gather with others? As His image-bearers, we have the opportunity to use the joy-filled seams woven into our calendar to remember His goodness and share his heart with others. Who might you need to make room for at the table and how will you extend a personal invitation to your celebration? Homemaking Deep Dive | Sentimental Decor with Brittany Shepard

Send me a text about this episode! Today we’re talking decor, but we are going beyond style and trends to look at sentimental decorating—choosing meaning over what’s trending and letting our homes hold the real stories of our lives. My guest is Brittany Shepard who is known as the Sentimental Decorator online. Today we are diving deeper into Brittany’s passion, helping others become storykeepers in their homes. A storykeeper is someone who doesn’t save special things “for someday,” but lives with them—uses them, displays them, and allows the memories they carry bring comfort, joy, and even a place for grief to land. In This Episode: How to curate keepsakes without clutter How to decide what to hold onto (and what to let go) Practical ways to create a meaningful home—without buying anything new. How our belongings can help us honor the stories that formed us in the past while also shaping the story we’re living right now. Homemaker Portrait | Hannah Stewart

Send me a text about this episode! I am chatting with In-the-Trenches homemaker and fellow podcaster, Hannah Stewart, of the Sugar and Spice Mom Life Podcast. Growing up, Hannah said she never wanted to get married or have kids, but God used the hospitable families of the church she attended in college to birth in her heart a desire for marriage, motherhood and homemaking. She left home with plenty of skills, but without the correct mindset regarding the emotional and relational work of the homemaker; nor was she prepared for the lack of cultural respect for her chosen occupation. She’s had to let go of many expectations and her tendency towards perfectionism, but in the letting go, God is teaching her the powerful impact of the tone she sets through her homemaking. We cover all the usual ground, so get ready for an hour full of trials and triumphs, tips, recipes and hard-won homemaking wisdom from this delightful and very insightful guest.
