Special episode: Compliance vs. business opportunities with DPPs
This is the second of two new special episodes produced in collaboration with the Data to Business project after this year's project activities, in which several company representatives reflect on their journeys to develop prototype Digital Product Passports (DPPs). In Episode 2, companies discuss the balance between using Digital Product Passports (DPPs) for regulatory compliance and leveraging them as tools for value creation. While implementation challenges remain, participants largely view the DPP as an opportunity rather than a burden. They highlight its potential to support repair, resale, refurbishment, transparency, storytelling, and stronger engagement with customers and other value-chain actors. Many see compliance requirements as a catalyst for developing new services and circular business models that extend product lifetimes and strengthen customer relationships. Across both groups, the discussion concludes with a common message: companies should begin preparing now, as early development and experimentation will be critical to realizing both the compliance and business benefits of the DPP. Company representatives include: Anna Bilen (Shyness), Tonje Urrang Øverlie (Kattnakken), Maria Andersson (NilsonGroup), Therese Kaisner (Ferm Living), Natalia Makovetskaya (Ekornes) and Linda Pimmeshofer (J. Lindeberg). The host is Sara Harper, Senior Lecturer at the Swedish School of Textiles. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
