We Have Godlike Tech, But Our Brains Are Still in the Stone Age with Steven Kotler

Now, if you’ve been following this channel for a while, you know I’ve been screaming into the digital ether about the exponential technology curve since 2015. Back then, I was basically a proud, card-carrying disciple of Dr. Peter Diamandis, looking at the early days of AI, blockchain, and tech-convergence and telling everyone who would listen: ‘The future is coming faster than you think.’ Well, guess what? It’s here. We are officially living in it. But as we race toward a world of absolute, unadulterated abundance, we’ve bumped into a massive, slightly awkward paradox. Technology has quietly handed ordinary human beings godlike powers. We are rewriting DNA, building synthetic minds, and reshaping reality at a scale our ancestors would have called a biblical miracle. But while our external tech tools are expanding exponentially, our internal software—our Stone Age brains—are still trying to avoid getting eaten by saber-toothed tigers. So the question isn't whether we can play god. It’s whether we can do it without accidentally tripping over the cord and unplugging humanity. Joining me today is a man who needs no introduction if you care about the bleeding edge of human capability. He is a New York Times bestselling author, and a peak performance expert. He has teamed up once again with Peter Diamandis to drop the ultimate psychological and tactical playbook for our current era: We Are as Gods: A Survival Guide for the Age of Abundance. Ethereum’s Corporate Drama & The Institutional Supercycle with Kevin Lepsoe

Today, we are diving straight into the heart of a blockchain undergoing what can only be described as a corporate mid-life crisis and an institutional glow-up all at the same time: This is none-other than Ethereum. Lately, Ethereum feels less like a quiet open-source project and more like a high-stakes corporate drama. The Ethereum Foundation just pulled off a massive 'subtraction' play, slicing its budget by 40% and its headcount by 20%, parting ways with its co-executive directors and closing their major labs. But just as the Foundation shrank its footprint, a powerhouse spin-off called EthLabs burst onto the scene, armed with heavy-hitting VC backing, Wall Street treasury companies, and a mission to turn Ethereum into the ultimate global settlement layer. To help us make sense of how these pieces fit together—and how we transition from decentralized hobbyists to institutional titans—Kevin is here to help us understand how EthGAS, is literally rebuilding how we trade and commit to Ethereum blockspace. Wallets for Humans (and AI Agents): The New Era of Embedded Crypto Infrastructure with Itai Turbahn

Welcome back to Tech Snippets Today, coming to you live from ETHConf in New York City! We are living through a massive paradigm shift in the digital asset space. The dust is settling on years of regulatory uncertainty in the US, and what’s emerging is a clear, institutional-grade highway for Web3. But as the macro environment opens up, a massive micro problem remains: UX and infrastructure. How do we onboard the next billion users and enterprises without forcing them to write down 12-word seed phrases or decipher complex gas fees? The answer lies in making the blockchain invisible. It lies in embedded wallets and autonomous financial rails. To break this down, I am joined today by Itai Turbahn, the VP of Embedded Wallets at Fireblocks—the enterprise giant securing trillions in digital asset volume. Itai, welcome to the show... The AI Illusion: Why Your LLM Doesn't Actually Talk Like a Human with Prof. Yosef Grodzinsky

Is language a uniquely biological superpower, or is it just a massive math problem we’ve finally solved? Welcome back to the show. Today, we’re tearing down the curtain on the AI revolution with renowned neurolinguist Prof. Grodzinsky, author of How Deeply Human Is Language?. As generative AI takes over our workflows, a fierce philosophical and scientific war is raging. On one side, the Chom-sky-an school views language as an innate, modular miracle of the human brain. On the other, tech titans claim neural networks have bypassed linguistic theory entirely. But who is actually right? Prof. Grodzinsky joins us to bridge the gap between engineering and cognitive science, exposing the flaws of modern LLMs through the lens of the human brain, and offering a provocative blueprint for how marrying linguistic science with AI architecture is the only true path to building synthetic networks that don't just mimic human speech, but actually understand it. Engineering to the Power of AI: Inside Ascendion’s Global Disruption with KK

The rapid evolution of corporate technology has brought us to a critical inflection point: the shift from passive tools to truly autonomous, Agentic AI. While the early wave of artificial intelligence focused on simple prompts and generating text; the real frontier lies in systems that can independently orchestrate complex workflows from start to finish. In this episode, we explore how this paradigm shift is delivering concrete, bottom-line results for over 30% of the Fortune 500. The way I like to view this, is that we will be citing and discussing tangible examples in the Agentic AI era, i.e. where we are going. So instead of just throwing linear headcount at complex coding challenges, Ascendion’s proprietary engineering platform, AAVA™, deploys a massive constellation of specialized digital agents to manage the entire software development lifecycle. Our conversation will dive into how these autonomous networks are cleaning up legacy technical debt, automating repetitive engineering labor, and scaling operations in heavily regulated industries like banking and healthcare. Superjustice or Algorithm Tyranny? How AI is Rewriting the Rule of Law with Professor Benjamin Alarie

We’ve spent years obsessing over AI benchmarks, workplace automation, and chatbot hallucinations. But while we were looking at the future of work, artificial intelligence quietly invaded the foundations of democratic society: the legal system. Today, we’re unpacking a tectonic shift with the Professor. AI isn’t just summarizing case law anymore; it's entering the realm of judicial reasoning, predictive outcomes, and institutional governance. Is this the beginning of algorithmic tyranny, or could it be the ultimate cure for an inaccessible, backlogged, and deeply unequal legal system? Drawing striking parallels to the Vatican's landmark papal encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, we will map out the next phase of the AI revolution. We’re moving past model capabilities and stepping into institutional adaptation. Get ready to rethink everything you know about accountability, equity, and the very definition of justice in the age of code. Send us Fan Mail Many more amazing technology episodes to come! Cybersecurity Update: Vibe Coding vs. Verified Code - Can AI Fix the Mess it Created... with Eran Kinsbruner

In the history of software development, we have never seen a gap widen as quickly as the one between the speed of creation and the speed of assurance. We have entered the era of 'Machine-Speed Development,' where AI isn’t just assisting coders—it’s becoming the coder. But as large language models churn out millions of lines of code, they are also inheriting and scaling human errors at an atmospheric level. The traditional 'scan and fix' model of cybersecurity is buckling under this weight. Today, we are exploring a fundamental shift in the defensive landscape: the move from static security tools to autonomous, agentic security systems. We’re diving into how AI is being harnessed to defend against the very risks it creates, the rise of 'Shadow AI' in the enterprise, and whether we are approaching a future where security is entirely self-healing—or if the 'human in the loop' is the only thing keeping the digital world from a total trust collapse. Today, we’ll start with level setting about the cybersecurity landscape, get into the agentic space, and finally a Philosophical & Future Outlook. Architecting Life: Authoring the Future of Species with Dr. Adrian Woolfson

Many moons ago, in 2015 I began my talks/presentations and writings about exponential technology and how this could lead to a world of abundance. Examples I once referenced included devices with which you could communicate with dogs and whales, saving data to DNA, namely tree DNA; living to 125 and using lab grown organs like new hearts and livers. Today’s guest takes us there and beyond… Imagine a future where we grow houses rather than build them. Where smartphones are living, clothing has opinions, and all human knowledge fits into a speck of DNA. A world where disease is a thing of the past, and the human lifespan is dramatically extended. To achieve this, says Dr. Woolfson, we must transform biology into a predictive, programmable engineering material. That means decoding the generative grammar of DNA: the language of life itself. We will then be able to author genomes, and, if we choose, even rewrite our own. While offering extraordinary opportunities, this power also carries great risk, and it is vital for everyone to understand what the future might hold. In this groundbreaking work, he provides a guide to this bold new world, offering a moral compass to help us do so safely, wisely, and ethically. The End of the App Era: How Agentic AI is Rebuilding the Smartphone with Div Garg

For over a decade, our digital lives have been lived in silos, opening one app to check a flight, another to pay a friend, and a third to send a message. But we are entering a new era where the 'app' as we know it is becoming invisible. Today, I am joined by a true pioneer of this shift. Div is a Stanford AI researcher and the founder of AGI, Inc., a neolab that is teaching our devices not just to talk to us, but to act for us. After founding MultiOn, one of the first companies to build web-based agents, Div is now working at the hardware level with giants like Qualcomm and Lenovo to build on-device intelligence that understands your screen as well as you do. In this episode, we’re going deep into the Agentic Smartphone. We’ll discuss: Why the 'App Store' economy might be facing its biggest disruption yet. The critical balance between total AI agency and your personal privacy. And how new chipsets are turning your phone from a passive tool into a proactive coworker. If you’ve ever wondered what happens when AI graduates from a chatbot to a 'do-bot,' this is the conversation for you. Send us Fan Mail Many more amazing technology episodes to come! The Agentic Evolution: Autonomous Finance is Here with Anant Kale

In my time as a technologist and futurist, I’ve seen plenty of disruptions. In the past that’s code for a slightly faster spreadsheet. But today, we are talking about a shift that feels less like a software update and more like a biological evolution of the enterprise. We’ve moved past the era where AI was just a digital highlighter, flagging a double-booked flight or a suspicious 'spa' charge on an expense report. We are entering the age of Agentic Finance—where the AI doesn't just tap you on the shoulder; it grabs the steering wheel. It reasons, it audits, and frankly, it probably has a better grasp of global tax compliance than any human currently sipping a latte. Joining me today to help navigate this transition from 'Assisted' to 'Autonomous' is someone who is effectively building the nervous system for the modern corporation. He is the Founder and CEO of AppZen, a leader in AI-driven finance transformation, and someone who understands that in the world of the future, 'close enough' is no longer an option for the ledger. Agentic AI in Action: How Simplifai is Disrupting the Insurance Industry with Artem Gonchakov

I’ve been discussing Agentic AI for some time now. It started off more in theory then it got very practical with a recent podcast about Agent platforms. Today we have a real example of Agentic AI in practice in the insurance industry. Artem leads a company that is proving the value of autonomous agents in one of the most complex, document-heavy, and highly regulated industries on earth: Insurance. Acorn Group, one of the UKs largest non-standard insurance providers, has implemented Simplifai, for its 400-person claims operation. We aren't just talking about chatbots here. We’re talking about AI agents that act as "conductors," orchestrating entire claims lifecycles, reducing manual triage by 90%, and saving thousands of operational hours every month. But as these agents gain more autonomy, how do we trust them? How do we ensure they follow the rules? Today, we’re going deep on the "Trust Layer" of insurance, the move toward KYA (Know Your Agent), and what it really looks like to put AI to work in the real world. KYA: Why Your AI Agent Needs a Digital ID to Spend Your Money with Chandler Fang

Since late 2024, I have been yammering on to whomever will listen, at parties, dog parks, grocery store lines, about one of the most important areas of our future, Agentic AI. We are rapidly entering a new era where the 'assistant' doesn’t just suggest the flight; it books it, pays for it, and could also manage the treasury of the company that owns the plane. We are clearly moving from chatbots to autonomous economic actors. Here’s the issue: our global financial systems were built for humans with Social Security numbers and wet-ink signatures, not for autonomous agents running on L1s (Layer 1s – blockchains). Right now, there’s a massive trust gap. While 42% of consumers are ready to let AI hunt for the best prices, most are not ready for it to autonomously execute on that fabulous deal. 90% of cybersecurity pros are losing sleep because these agents lack a verified digital identity. If an agent goes rogue or a transaction fails, who is accountable? That’s exactly the infrastructure gap Chandler is closing with his company t54. Today, we’re going to dive into how we move from, AI as a tool, to AI as a trusted financial participant; the role of the x402 protocol, KYA (Know Your Agent), and whether the future of agent payments belongs to the blockchain or the legacy giants like Visa and Mastercard. The Backbone of DeFi: How RedStone Scales Data Across 110+ Blockchains with Marcin Kazmierczak

Blockchains are incredible for security and transparency, but by design, they are isolated. They cannot inherently communicate with the outside world or with each other. Without a reliable bridge, smart contracts are essentially flying blind. Oracles – one of my favorite topics going back to 2017 – because of my background in data repositories in FinTech/LegalTech and real-estate. Oracles solve this isolation problem by acting as the ultimate, cryptographically secure source of truth. They feed real-world data on-chain and serve as the critical infrastructure that allows different blockchains to communicate, forming the backbone for everything from tokenization to complex DeFi protocols. To help us unpack this vital space, I am thrilled to welcome Marcin Kazmierczak, Co-Founder of RedStone, the fastest-growing blockchain oracle delivering 400+ price updates per second across 110+ blockchains. Agentic AI: The Tokenized Future: Inside Nansen with Alex Svanevik

The world of finance is undergoing a metamorphosis so bizarre that not even Franz Kafka could have dreamt it up. We are watching the convergence of retail and institutional trading become entirely automated, driven by Agentic AI, and increasingly tokenized. Having just returned from speaking at Davos on this very intersection of blockchain and AI, I can tell you the old guard is finally waking up to the reality we've been pushing for. Since 2017, I've been evangelizing the tokenization of all assets. It’s taken a long time, but it’s really starting to happen. Imagine fractional ownership of Big Ben in London – perish the thought, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, or a Picasso. Or, more realistically, your own house. The technical foundation is already here. I continue to believe every security, bond, and financial asset will live on-chain. To help us navigate this brave new world, we have Alex here to share his unfiltered thoughts on these massive shifts and give us a look under the hood at Nansen. Steering the Algorithm: Leadership in the Age of Motion with Louisa Loran

In a world where algorithms can predict market shifts in milliseconds and supply chains are becoming autonomous, the role of human leadership is paradoxically becoming more critical, not less. Today, we aren't just discussing 'digital transformation' as a buzzword; we are looking at the anatomy of how legacy giants pivot into the future. We will explore what it actually looks like to steer a massive organization—whether it’s moving physical containers at Maersk or moving data at Google—through the fog of technological disruption. We will discuss why 'busyness' is often a mask for a lack of strategic direction, how to identify unconventional predictors of change before they hit the mainstream, and why the most advanced technology still requires a leader (for now) who can master the art of 'motion'—acting with intention before the path is fully clear. Is Vibe Coding Dead? The 2026 Shift to Inference-Driven Development with Nicolas Genest

Could 2026 mark the end of "vibe coding" as we know it? Welcome back to Tech Snippets Today. In this episode, we sit down with Nicolas Genest, Founder and CEO of CodeBoxx, to explore the rapidly shifting landscape of AI software development. Over the past year, generating applications with natural language prompts has exploded in popularity. Tools like Lovable.ai, Replit, and Cursor have empowered developers and non-technical users alike to go from prompt to deployment in under 5 minutes. But there’s a catch: teams are discovering that prompt-generated code often lacks architectural coherence and creates hidden technical debt once products move beyond the demo phase. Nicolas breaks down why we are reaching a critical inflection point and how the industry is moving from prompt-driven experimentation to inference-driven development. We discuss the future of systems where AI doesn't just generate code, but actively reasons about context, tests assumptions, and continuously refactors logic as conditions change.
