President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing

In response to the growing divide between local police forces and the communities they serve, President Barack Obama established the Task Force on 21st Century Policing through an executive order on December 18, 2014. This task force was tasked with identifying effective practices and proposing recommendations to enhance policing strategies that not only reduce crime but also foster public trust. The report outlines actionable recommendations structured around six key pillars Building Trust and Legitimacy, Policy and Oversight, Technology and Social Media, Community Policing and Crime Reduction, Officer Training and Education, and Officer Safety and Wellness.
