Is Mallorca a luxury destination? This was discussed at the World Travel Market in London and has the Balearics upped its game in general? Can you make a silk purse from a sow's ear? A 70's teenage pop star mixing with THE JAM & MADNESS, when his band split & his brother went on to find international fame with PAUL WELLER & the STYLE COUNCIL he somehow found himself running the iconic CLUB 18-30 youth holidays in an ever-changing IBIZA during the madness of the mid to late 80’s as a booze & live music culture was giving way to Balearic house & ecstasy pills. Danny went on to become a big cheese in the holiday industry pioneering the very first clubbing holidays to the White isle with MINISTRY OF SOUND & then overseeing THOMAS COOK SPORT just as the English PREMIER LEAGUE exploded. 26 year old BALI POPE came to my attention when she appeared in BBC3's controversial docu-series 'SECRETS OF THE PARTY ISLAND' with Zara McDermott & when I wrote a disparaging article about it & her portrayal she wasn't impressed and wasn't shy in telling me so. In episode 7 of my podcast series we have a frank & forthright chat about that BBC3 series, Bali’s thoughts on how she came across and the fallout afterwards. She also explains how her path could have been very different, what it's like to be a millenial from a single parent family & discovering Ibiza as an 18 year old.
