Susan Winter - The Courage to Love Differently

What happens when your own life becomes the research for the book that changes everything? In this episode of Stories Behind Strength, I sit down with Susan Winter bestselling author, relationship expert, and one of the most sought-after voices on love, identity, and self-discovery. Susan's career took a defining turn with her breakout book on older women and younger men relationships, a project that began not as a marketing strategy, but as an honest excavation of her own lived experience. Every insight, every hard-won lesson, came directly from her own relationships, which is exactly what makes her work resonate so deeply with readers around the world. This conversation goes far beyond relationship advice. It's a story about the courage it takes to examine your own life honestly, to turn personal experience into wisdom, and to build a body of work rooted in truth rather than convention. Susan opens up about what it really means to know yourself — not the polished, curated version, but the version that emerges only after you've sat with your own choices, your own heartbreak, and your own growth. We talk about: How Susan's personal relationships became the foundation for her bestselling book The difference between conventional relationship "rules" and lived truth What self-discovery actually looks like when it's uncomfortable How vulnerability, not certainty became her greatest source of authority Why understanding yourself is the real prerequisite for understanding love The confidence it takes to publish your own story for the world to judge Whether you're navigating your own relationships, rebuilding your sense of self, or simply curious what it takes to turn personal truth into public impact, this episode is a reminder that our deepest challenges often become our most powerful contributions. This is a conversation about resilience in its quietest form the kind that shows up in self-honesty, not just in triumph.

Making Baseball possible globally - Jay Quinn

"He had the business. He had New York. He gave it up for a system that doesn't exist yet." Jay Quinn played Division I baseball, coached at Columbia, and worked inside Major League Baseball. He had built a life, a working business, a home in New York City. Then he looked at what actually happens to Dominican baseball talent, and he couldn't unsee it. Most kids chasing the MLB dream in the Dominican Republic never make it past their team's academy. They're released around 19 or 20, no degree, no fallback, no plan B. The system takes everything and gives almost nothing back if the dream doesn't land. Jay walked away from his life in New York to fix that. Today, through the Baseball Island Foundation in Las Terrenas, he gives kids free, professional-level training, on one condition: they stay in school. In year one alone, that trade produced college scholarships and an MLB contract. This episode is about what it costs to build the thing you wish had existed for you — and why that cost is worth it. 🎬 See the story: instagram.com/baseball_island_foundation 🤝 Support the mission: baseballisland.org #StoriesBehindStrength #BaseballIslandFoundation #DominicanRepublic #Resilience

4x Olympia: Andreas Toba on Family, Values & gymnastics

Millionaire by 20, Joshua Kim about Family, Opinions

Joshua Kim is widely known as one of the youngest entrepreneurs to build wealth through acquisitions, buying his first businesses before he turned 21 and becoming a millionaire by 20. Now 27, he has nearly a decade of firsthand experience in the world of leveraged business buying — long before “acquisitions Twitter” or buy-a-business content became mainstream. A former teenage millionaire in Dan Peña’s QLA ecosystem, Josh emerged as a case study not because of hype, but because he repeatedly executed: from credit consulting and business funding to acquiring companies in transportation, finance, and service-based industries. His work has been featured on entrepreneurial podcasts, YouTube channels, and in conversations around small-business M&A for young founders. Beyond the headline, Josh is driven by something deeper than early success. His story is one of identity, impact, resilience, and self-discovery — navigating expectations, mentorship dynamics, and later, the impact of a personal diagnosis that reshaped the way he thinks about ambition, performance, and mental health. Today, Josh is known not just for his business acumen, but for the honesty with which he speaks about the psychological cost of high performance, the discipline behind growth, and the process of learning to separate self-worth from achievement. He brings rare transparency to the realities of entrepreneurship, the isolation, the intensity, the inner rewiring, and the strength it takes to evolve beyond the identity that made you successful. Whether discussing acquisitions, mindset, pressure, or purpose, Josh brings a grounded perspective shaped by inner work as much as strategy. His journey continues to inspire young entrepreneurs who want not only to build companies, but to build a self they can live with.

[English episode] Olympic Gold medallist Bethanie Mattek-Sands: Relationships, Competition & Mental Growth

This conversation isn’t just about trophies or titles—it’s about the individual Bethanie,, the relationships, and the love that make an athlete’s journey truly meaningful. And that’s where Bethanie Mattek-Sands shines. She’s not only a Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist—she’s someone who has built her life with connection. Whether it’s the chemistry of doubles, the support of her husband Justin, or the way she brings fans into her world with authenticity and fun, Bethanie reminds us that the game is bigger than the scoreline. This conversation is about what it really means to compete—not just for yourself, but with and for the people you love. It’s about resilience, joy, and finding a reason to be out there that’s bigger than tennis itself.
