SERIAL KILLER: Carl Panzram Pt. 2
In the 1920s, Carl Panzram murdered at least twenty-one people across the United States and Africa... and then wrote it all down. Captured in Washington, DC in 1928, he gave police his real name, confessed unprompted, and at his sentencing told the court the death penalty suited him fine. A single dollar from a young jail guard named Henry Lesser prompted Panzram to produce a 20,000-word confession that became one of the most chilling first-person accounts in American criminal history.
