America fears Black history because it exposes how racial power was created, protected, and passed down. We also explore why racist politics remain emotionally fixated on Black people—our families, neighborhoods, hair, culture, voting habits, protests, success, and even our desire to leave America. If Black people are supposedly insignificant, why are so many laws, political campaigns, media narratives, and social movements built around controlling us?
