    The Doors

Val Kilmer put everything into his portrayal of Jim Morrison in the 1991 movie called The Doors. Directed by Oliver Stone, the film contained many inaccuracies that are still debated among fans today. Join co-hosts Jon and Mark as they go on a far out psychedelic ride in the desert to see how the Lizard King helped make The Doors leaders of counterculture in the late 1960s and early 1970s rock landscape. What's a rock and roll band for man, if you can't party all night and do bad things? Airheads

An all-star cast led by Brendan Fraser took the fictional KPPX radio station hostage in the 1994 comedy called Airheads. With very few actual music scenes in the film, we depend heavily on references and vibes but get a little help with a cameo by Lemmy from Motorhead. Join co-hosts Jon and Mark as they are held at water gun-point as Chazz and the boys try to get their demo out to the masses. How can you pluralize "Lone Ranger"? School of Rock

Can an illegitimate substitute teacher transform a class of fifth grade students into a rock n' roll band ready to compete at Battle of The Bands? That's a question nobody asked, but in 2003, audiences were treated to School of Rock and Jack Black took on this very mission. From teaching the kids about Motorhead to sound-proofing the classroom, nothing was going to stop Dewey Finn from leading this group to the big stage. Join co-hosts Jon and Mark as they attend Horace Green Preparatory School and see just how this all went down under the watchful eye of Principal Mullins. Judgment Night

Four friends on the run from a street gang in downtown Chicago is the story line for the movie Judgment Night from 1993. This story line has nothing to do with music. However, the soundtrack that accompanied this film featured a unique formula of hard rock bands teaming up with hip-hop artists to compose original songs. Join co-hosts Jon and Mark as they revisit this wrong turn off the expressway and how this soundtrack became an icon for the beginnings of rap-rock in the years that followed. Join co-hosts Jon and Mark as they skate their way to the L.A. Massacre to see if nice guy Corey can take out the evil Hook like he promised. Breakin' is a memory! Join co-hosts Jon and Mark for a trip to the Bourbon Room to see Stacee Jaxx take the stage along with Arsenal, Wolfgang Von Colt, and even The Zee Guyeezz. That Thing You Do!

That Thing You Do! was Tom Hanks' debut as a writer and director that chronicled the rise and fall of a fictional garage rock band called The Wonders in 1964. Some Kind of Monster

Metallica entered the early 2000s at a crossroads. Without a bass player and without a sense of direction, the remaining members forged on with a therapy coach and a documentary film crew in their quest to complete the 2003 album "St. Anger." The result was the overly long, reality TV-vibe induced, Some Kind of Monster. Co-hosts Jon and Mark make their way through this journey from the military barracks at Presidio to the stage at MTV Icon. This monster lives... but he's in therapy!
