374: She Wanted $40 to Host My Open House... Here’s the Problem
A brand-new real estate agent asked to host open houses in our local brokerage group. I had an $800K listing coming up, loved her initiative, and offered her the opportunity. Then she told me her fee was $40. And listen... I know some of y'all are going to disagree with me on this one. 😂 But this episode isn't really about $40. It's about the difference between thinking like an employee and thinking like the CEO of your real estate business. There is a cost to doing business. Sometimes that cost is money. Sometimes it's time, energy, training, or simply being willing to put yourself in the right rooms before you know exactly how the opportunity will pay off. We're talking about open houses, investing in your real estate business, recognizing the bigger opportunity, and why constantly nickel-and-diming your way through this career could be costing you a whole lot more than you're saving. If you want to build a successful real estate business, you've got to start thinking like a business owner.
