Firefly: An Original Track from the World of Punch The Line
Before Punch The Line launches, hear from creator Paul Roland and experience another piece of the original music bringing its world to life. This special bonus release features “Firefly,” an original composition by Andrew Halpin. Varied, expressive, and constantly evolving, the track showcases Halpin’s ability to tell a story through music. Roland reveals that Halpin developed most of the piece independently, making “Firefly” a powerful testament to his creativity and musical instincts. Punch The Line is an upcoming eight-episode fictional teen dramedy created, written, directed, and produced by Paul Roland. Set in South Orange County, California, the series follows a high school competitive improv team fighting to win a major competition, overcome their personal struggles, and save their drama department. Inspired by the coming-of-age films of John Hughes and the emotional depth of Cameron Crowe, Punch The Line blends heart, humor, friendship, rivalry, romance, and the unpredictable energy of live improv. Roland previously wrote and directed the independent feature film EXEMPLUM, shot during the COVID-19 pandemic for just $10,000. The film earned Roland Best Director at the Pasadena International Film Festival, secured distribution through IndieRights, and built an audience on Tubi, Vimeo, and Google Play. “Firefly” offers another glimpse into the sound and spirit of Punch The Line as the series moves closer to its official premiere.
