Press Man Coverage | Week 1 Was Ugly. Here’s What’s Fair — and What Isn’t
Send us Fan Mail Week 1 in Nashville was ugly. The Jets left Nissan Stadium with a 23-10 win, and four years of Titans frustration walked right into the conversation. In this episode of Press Man Coverage, we break down Titans vs Jets and talk about the difference between fair criticism and pure venom. Some of what we saw is real. Some of it is just the last four seasons boiling over. The tape was rough. Tennessee was outgained 367-195 and managed just 11 first downs. Cam Ward finished 19-of-32 for 140 yards and a touchdown, under pressure all afternoon. The run game never got going. Special teams gifted New York a short field. Breece Hall punched in a score while the Titans had 13 men on the field. The crowd booed the offense off the turf. There were slivers: Joey Slye’s first field goal of the year, Carnell Tate’s first NFL catch, and Ward’s touchdown dart to Elic Ayomanor. That was not enough to hide the rest of it. Fair shots are allowed. Blind rage is a different thing. We try to separate the two. What was fair after Week 1? Drop it in the comments.
