Poems & Whiskey

Michael Chilcutt

Poems & Whiskey is the project of Michael C. It's a weird and rambly talk show that's usually pretty funny. Enough that the Spotify powers that be labeled this show 'comedy'. Now whether that means I'm funny or that I'm a joke, well...

In this thing, I talk to all sorts of creative types across all levels of skill and exposure. We sit and chat about what the hell we think we're doing and have drink (or two).

Pull up a chair and join us, friend.

Cheers y'all!

Well, babies, I did not mean to miss all of August and most of September... Here's the important bits: Mother Night here to own and here for free Season finale Halloween Party IV is recording 10pm cst on October 16th. FIND ME HERE IF WANNA PARTY NO Hiatus Project this year, but actually writing! Shocking, I know! Hogswatch Special will be as planned. Season 5 open call in January! I love you guys! Good people doing good things ---> Random Acts' Lantern Fund, How to Perform an Act of Kindness Locally Food Not Bombs, INARA, MAP, Islamic Relief for Palestine, The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund Legacy of War Foundation UNHCR, *I own and profit off nothing in this bizarre hubristic venture. It is a vehicle for expression, education, and artistic play (probably a little bit of a humiliation kink too if we're being honest here lol). **Hey hey, btw, all those do gooders I link to? They have no idea who I am and have nothing to do with me (and I like it that way). I just think they're neat. ***My intro is Backyard Folklore by Northside , middle is Back to Black by Rockin for Decades, and the outro is Draw Lines in the Sand by Blood Red Sun Hosted on Acast. Smile in the Dark

the pleasures of the damned by charles bukowski the pleasures of the damned are limited to brief moments of happiness: like the eyes in the look of a dog, like a square of wax, like a fire taking the city hall, the county, the continent, like fire taking the hair of maidens and monsters; and hawks buzzing in peach trees, the sea running between their claws, Time drunk and damp, everything burning, everything wet, everything fine. Hogswatch Special 2025

It's the P & W Holiday Special! There's a small foreword where I jabber some personal lore and propose to the 10 listeners of Hiatus Peaks, y'all know how to find me ;) Then, I read from Bagombo Snuff Box, another collection of Uncle Kurt's short stories, a little gem called, "A Present for Big Saint Nick". In which an obnoxious, manipulative, petty blowhard throws his annual hostage situation- er- Christmas party and it's one no one will ever forget. I close it out with one of my poems for the end of the year. We made it, babies! We're here. May we all receive what we deserve in this season of reckoning. Thank you for allowing me into your life, for spending your time with me, for letting me play. I love you. Merry Happy Winter Observations to all. Cheers! Remember the turnips!
