    The Black Sox Curse

The Black Sox Curse refers to the belief that the Chicago White Sox were cursed after the 1919 Black Sox Scandal, when eight players were accused of intentionally losing the 1919 World Series in exchange for money from gamblers. Although some of the players were found not guilty in court, they were permanently banned from professional baseball by Kenesaw Mountain Landis. The "curse" became a popular explanation among fans for the White Sox's decades of disappointing performances after winning the 1917 championship. The team eventually ended much of the superstition by winning the 2005 World Series, their first World Series title in 88 years. Wikipedia, YouTube "The Baseball Explainer"

    Fresno Nightcrawler

The Fresno Nightcrawler is a modern cryptid (a creature whose existence has not been scientifically verified) that originated from Fresno. It became famous after a 2007 security camera video appeared to show a strange white figure with extremely long legs and little or no visible upper body walking across a yard. The creature is often described as looking like a "walking pair of pants." Although additional videos and sightings have been claimed over the years, no conclusive evidence has confirmed the creature's existence. Many researchers suggest the footage could be a hoax, a camera artifact, or a misidentified object. Despite this, the Fresno Nightcrawler has become a popular figure in internet folklore and cryptid culture because of its unusual appearance and mysterious origins. Wikipedia, Cryptid Wikipedia
