    Episode 90 - Real Haunted Houses V

The spooky never stops during spooky season, and what goes better with spooky season than a good ol’ fashioned haunted house? On this haunted opesode, we’ll visit an old Victorian home in Canada where the spirit of a WWI soldier bakes in the kitchen, and a family from the past roam the halls, run up and down the stairs, and visit bedsides in the night to watch you sleep or to tickle your nose. Then we’re back across the border to the House of Death in Greenwich Village. This brownstone was briefly the home of Mark Twain, but it’s no whimsical author haunting these halls—though he’s been seen on the staircase. Stay the night and you might be followed by an imposing shadow figure, or maybe you’ll run into the spirit of a young woman, a little girl, or a cat. Just try to stay alive. It’s called the House of Death for a reason. You might want to listen to this one with the lights on. Haunted by Dorah L. It’s time for a spooky season road trip! We’re headed to Ancient City, or as it’s more commonly known, St. Augustine, Florida. Our first stop will be the Ancient City Inn where a mysterious grey figure lurks and loud thuds fill the eerie silence of the night. Next, we’ll visit the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, home to the ghosts of three girls who lost their life in a tragic accident. No trip to St. Augustine would be complete without a stop at the Old Jail where a mysterious shadow figure lurks in the shadows. Lastly, we’ll visit the St. Francis Inn which operates as a B&B. The most haunted room is Lily’s room where a distraught soldier ended his life after his uncle fired his beloved Lily. It’s going to be a long drive, so bring a book, some snacks, and something to calm your nerves. Episode 88 - The Exorcist

Welcome to another Film vs. Fact episode where we look at the true paranormal story and compare it with the film version. For this one, we’ll tackle one of the most famous horror films of the 1970s: The Exorcist. William Blatty’s 1971 novel of the same name was a huge success and the 1973 film would become the highest grossing R-rated film for almost 30 years until it was finally surpassed by The Matrix Reloaded in 2003. The film’s popularity is undeniable, but what about the story itself? Of course it was based on a true story, that’s why we’re here! The film is inspired by the 1949 exorcism of a thirteen-year-old Maryland boy. Did the film get anything right? You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out. You might want to listen to this one with lights on. Paranormal Rewatch Ep. 15 - Ghost Hunters: Terror Town Part 1

Welcome to another Paranormal Rewatch. This time, we’ll examine a 2020 Ghost Hunters episode starring Grant Wilson as he and the gang investigate the very haunted town of Clifton, Arizona in S2 E1 “Terror Town Part 1.” The mining town was once known as one of the most violent places in the Old West. Maybe that’s why such a small town has four cemeteries. Every square inch of this town is haunted from the Clifton Jail to the Clifton Hotel. Even the streets have their share of apparitions. This is gonna be a wild one, especially when we get to part 2. We hope you enjoy this Spooky Season extra episode. Episode 87 - Ghoul School

Welcome to the first full episode of Spooky Season! In this installment, we’re going back to school: it is September, after all. We’ll visit two haunted schools beginning with Chatham University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The Chatham Cougars excel in academics, sports, and ghosts. You heard that right. From the sounds of babies crying in the night to visitations from the Blue Lady, there’s more to this campus than its strong health sciences programs. Next, we’ll visit Brodhead, Wisconsin and check in on the old Broadhead school that has found new life as Brodhead Manor. The manor spent ninety years as a school until it was bought by Bill Wolter and turned into a Halloween style haunted house. Little did Bill know, some of the ghosts weren’t paid actors. Walk the halls of this old school and you might encounter the spirit of a little girl, or worse, a janitor who’s protective of his boiler room. Check in with your admissions councilor and sign up for classes because you won’t want to miss this one. Episode 86 - Unrelated Ghosts 4

Welcome to another Unrelated Ghosts episode where we dive into two locations that have nothing in common with one another. Nothing except that they’re both haunted, of course. First, we’ll visit the fascinating story of Eastern Airlines Flight 401. The fatal flight caused a global transformation in airline safety, but the thing people remember the most is the ghosts that people began to see after the airline recycled some of the parts from the crash and used them in other planes in the fleet. The next stop on our unrelated haunts tour will take us to Hales Bar Dam on the Tennessee River near Chattanooga. The dam is home to footsteps that seem to be more than just residual and a ghost that demands you not leave your trash behind. This place is dam haunted—see what I did there? Lol. Episode 84 - Haunted Lighthouses

Lighthouses have been around for more than 2200 years, lighting the way for ships and warning of shallow waters. For most of that time, lighthouses required a human operator: someone to manage the light. The light keeper was a dedicated person, often serving the light for a decade or more. With that kind of devotion, is it any wonder many of them are haunted? In this episode, we visit six such lighthouses. In Michigan we’ll visit one that’s home to a keeper known to enjoy cheap cigars and another where a child’s barefoot apparition wanders. We’ll drop in at Long Island Sound where a dark history permeated the lighthouse. Lastly, we’ll visit a Maryland lighthouse where disembodied voices hang in the air and where singing and laughter have been heard on several occasions. Episode 83 - Pascagoula Aliens

The autumn of 1973 saw a wave of UFO sightings across the country, but especially in the south. While many of those sightings were mere lights in the sky, some were much more. One in particular stands out among the rest. On a warm October evening in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker were fishing on the Pascagoula River when they were interrupted by a strange light. At first, they thought the police had come to chase them off the run-down property. What followed would come to be known as the Pascagoula Incident and stands as one of the most widely publicized alien abduction stories since the Barney and Betty Hill story came out less than a decade before. Since then, several witnesses have come forward to corroborate Charlie and Calvin’s story including a local sheriff who secretly recorded the men and their tale. In this wild episode, Heaven surprises Jonathan with a special guest: our friend Corey from the Good Chat with CW podcast. We’ve been on Corey’s podcast a few times, so it’s way past due that Corey come on Ope, A Ghost and tell us about his experiences at some of New England’s most famous haunted locations. Stay tuned for Paranormal News, and Heaven takes us on a visit to the Bull’s Head Inn in Cobleskill, New York where poltergeist activity abounds. Episode 81 - Haunted Midwest

The Midwest hides its darkness well — tucked between cornfields, covered bridges, and quiet main streets. But if you know where to look, the past refuses to stay buried. In this week's episode, we venture deep into the heart of America to investigate two locations where history and horror walk hand in hand. Our first stop is Billie Creek Village, a living history museum just outside Rockville, Indiana — home to over 30 historic buildings, three covered bridges, and more than a century's worth of untold stories. By day, it's a charming step back into 19th-century rural life. But when the lights go out and the tour groups leave, visitors and staff have reported flickering shadows, disembodied voices, and the unsettling feeling that the residents of Billie Creek never quite left. Then, we’ll head to Detroit to visit, and maybe dine, at the David Whitney House, simply known as The Whitney, a mansion-turned-restaurant. After we have a drink in the Ghost Bar, we’ll be on the lookout for the mysterious woman in the bathroom. The second floor is haunted by the ghosts of children who can be heard laughing and playing. No visit to the Whiteny would be complete without a visit to the carriage house where a table has been set up in deference to one of the Whitney daughters, Grace. On the rare occasion that Grace’s tea set has been relocated, the haunted activity increases. It’s best to leave Grace’s table alone. Episode 80 - Aradale and Pennhurst

Do you hear that? That slow, rhythmic creak — is it a wheelchair finding its way down an empty corridor, or a gurney that’s been still for decades? Tonight, we're walking into two abandoned hospitals where the past refuses to stay quiet. First, we visit Aradale Lunatic Asylum in Victoria, Australia, where the case of one patient was so extraordinary that the state passed legislation specifically to confine him to its grounds. It seems even death couldn't change that. Then we cross the Pacific and the country to Pennhurst State School and Hospital in Pennsylvania — once called The Shame of Pennsylvania — where a 1968 exposé revealed conditions so disturbing that the public outcry eventually forced its closure. The suffering of the vulnerable leaves a mark. Pennhurst hasn't forgotten, and neither have we. Some places don't let go of their history. Come find out why. Episode 79 - Haunted Road Trip: Atlanta

Once again, it’s time to pack up the Ope, A Ghost van and set out on another haunted road trip. This time, we’re heading to Atlanta, Georgia—but some roads are better left untraveled. Our stops in the ATL begin at the site of the deadliest hotel fire in American history where some victims remain, even if history has forgotten. We’ll wander through a park that may not be officially haunted, but it will definitely creep you out. Next, we’ll make our way to a historic mansion on Peachtree Street, where former residents—long since deceased—are said to send visitors fleeing. And what’s a haunted road trip without a cemetery? This one is steeped in restless energy, haunted by a group of Confederate soldiers and the distant, lingering echo of cannon fire. Then it’s off to an amusement park where the rides aren’t the only source of unease. Shadows move where they shouldn’t, and several corners of the park are said to be inhabited by specters from its earliest days. For our final stop, we’ll visit an open-air museum—a quiet collection of relocated buildings, each with its own past . . . and, some say, lingering occupants. Episode 78 - Unrelated Ghosts 3

Some things go together so well they've come to define the concept of togetherness Peanut butter and jelly or Bonnie and Clyde come to mind, but this isn’t one of those times. In this episode, we explore two completely unrelated locations with only one thing in common: they're both haunted. First, we travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, where the elegant Forepaugh's Restaurant plays host to the spirit of Joseph Forepaugh himself, still wandering the dining room in formal attire. New brides, consider this your warning: keep an eye out for the ghost of Molly. We'll also stop at the Griggs Mansion, where as many as seven spirits have made the halls their permanent residence. Then we’ll travel to Moundsville, West Virginia to Sanford Elementary School where the former principal, and the school's namesake, never quite left the building. Next, we’ll visit the Archive of the Afterlife, which houses what can only be described as a collection of the deeply unsettling: among its exhibits, the haunted portrait of Annie Ledger and the electrocution cap from Old Sparky, the electric chair at Moundsville State Prison.
