EPISODE ONE: WITH STEFANO DIBENEDETTO
In the early 2000s, Stefano DiBenedetto and I worked together while touring with Linkin Park. What began as a shared professional experience became part of a much larger and unforgettable moment in our lives.
On September 11, 2001, we were together in Hamburg, Germany, far from home as the terrorist attacks unfolded in the United States. In this episode, Stefano and I revisit that day, what it was like to witness history from another country, and how the experience affected us personally.
We also look back on life on tour, the people we met, the memories we carried home, and the ways those experiences shaped who we became. It is a conversation about music, friendship, history, survival, and the scars we collect along the way.
CONTENT DISCLAIMER
This episode contains candid conversations about addiction, recovery, trauma, relationships, past behavior, and experiences that some viewers or listeners may find disturbing or triggering.
The stories shared are reflections on our past and are not intended to glorify, celebrate, excuse, or condone destructive behavior, substance abuse, or the bad decisions we made along the way.
Quite the opposite.
We talk openly about these experiences because recovery requires honesty about where we’ve been and what it took to change.
Our focus today is on recovery, personal responsibility, spiritual growth, living productive lives, helping others when we can, and continuing to become better human beings.
Some of these stories are serious. Some are painful. And sometimes we laugh at the absolute insanity of our past. The laughter is about having survived it—not celebrating it.
If anything discussed in this episode brings up something difficult for you, please consider reaching out to someone you trust or asking for help.
No matter how far down the scale you may have gone, recovery is possible.
This video is unedited and raw. There are natural glitches and parts in the conversation and video that could be edited out but have been left untouched on purpose in order to be as transparent and authentic as possible. This video is not designed for click bait or likes or popularity, in fact, quite the opposite. This video was created to help people understand what goes on behind the scenes in any given environment. Addiction, mental health, the music business, etc. When we keep our expectations low, great things come to pass.
Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Joel Bull Hendricks
