    E. 30 - Dropping the Mask - My unfiltered answers to your questions

Noa Brume is getting real and raw for my 30th podcast episode! 🎙️ To celebrate this milestone, I invited you all to send me your questions, and I have to admit - some of them were incredibly direct and hit right where it hurts. I could have stayed behind my professional mask, but I decided to answer them with total honesty. After the loss of my son 21 years ago, I learned that being your true, authentic self is the only way to live, even when the truth is uncomfortable. I’m opening up about things I rarely discuss: The "elephant in the room": do I feel less successful because I’m overweight and know people judge my appearance? The pain of being labeled and judged just for being Israeli, and why people have actually refused to study with me because of it. The reality of building a career while raising a child with special needs who still isn't independent. Spilling the tea on the coaching industry’s biggest lies and the "mistakes" I’ve made by letting manipulative people onto my courses. If you want the honest truth and a look at the struggles behind the scenes, this is the episode you can't miss. Listen now to hear me answer it all! 🎧 Noa

    E. 29 - Drama on the Mountain - The Superpower of Pivoting- With Galit Hahn

I’ve had Galit Hahn on the show before, but this story is one of the most powerful she’s ever shared. Imagine hiking the Italian Dolomites when everything goes wrong: lost luggage, heavy fog, and a landslide that buried the trail. Galit and her son realized they’d been hiking the wrong way for over an hour on a dangerous cliffside, and they had to make the exhausting choice to turn back. Galit calls this the "Recalculation Superpower." In life and in coaching, it’s not a failure to admit you’re on the wrong path; it’s a strength to pivot when the "terrain" changes. In this episode, we explore: Strength vs. Flexibility: Why being "strong" in your values is only half the battle—you must be flexible enough to adjust your plan. The Power of Partnership: How a crisis transformed a mother-son dynamic into a relationship of equals. Choosing Your "Mountain" Partners: Why you need to surround yourself with people you can trust when things get "rocky". Galit and her son eventually made it to safety (and a well-earned glass of whiskey!), but the lessons on resilience are what you really need to hear. 🎧 Listen to the full episode now! #MovingForward #Podcast #Resilience #Dolomites #GrowthMindset #Recalculating

    E. 28 - What no one can take from you

Even if you stay with nothing, just the stripy pyjamas you were given and a pair of wooden shoes, and you're in a concentration camp... There's still one thing no one can take from you. A lesson I've learnt from my Holocaust survivor grandfather.

    E. 27 - Non-Violent communication Is there such a thing? - Witn Hanna Rotenshtraich

Is there such a thing as 'Non-Violent Communication'? And if it's possible, then how is it done? We called the expert, Hanna Rotenshtraich, to help us understand that yes! It's possible, and not even so hard to communicate non-violently. We think that you'll be surprised to understand how easy this is, and how much we all speak 'violently' to ourselves and others without even being aware that we do. This episode will help you understand it and how to easily change things around. It's really not difficult at all. Here's what Hanna says about herself: I’m Hanna Rotenshtraich. I’m a Nonviolent Communication (NVC) coach and trainer, and I work mainly with parents and couples who get stuck in recurring conflict, disconnection, or power struggles—especially in the parent–child relationship. I help people move from reacting (anger, shutdown, blame) to connecting: noticing observations vs. interpretations, naming feelings and needs, and making clear, doable requests. My focus is emotional safety at home—so children feel seen and parents feel confident, grounded, and consistent. I translate NVC into very practical tools people can use in real moments, not just in theory. Emotional safety is built in the small moments: how we listen, repair, and set limits. I live in the Netherlands, and I coach in 3 languages: Dutch, English and Hebrew. This is my website: www.hannaconnects.nl My Instagram account is hannaconnects on Facebook as well. Next month I’m organising an event, Back to Your Essence, for couples.

    E. 26 - How can we deepen communication with our children? - With Stella Redman

We all want to know how to build deeper communication with our children. We all want them to openly share things with us so we can know what's going on in their lives, and we want them to come to us when something bothers them. Yet this doesn't always happen. Our children, especially when they are in their teenage years, tend to block us and even separate us from what is happening to them. And that can hurt and upset us very much. We feel that we're bad parents, that we're not supporting them enough... and unfortunately, if we're not careful, this can escalate and become a painful relationship. But there are ways to avoid this. And in this episode, I spoke to Counsellor-Psychologist Stella Redman about one aspect of inter-personal communication that can make all the difference: Validation. What validation is, and why it is the key to excellent communication, is all explained in the episode. Happy listening! You can find Stella and her wonderful work on her website: https://www.sredmancounselling.com/ And on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/stella-redman-psychology

    E. 23 - On Life-Long learning

Not so many years ago, whenever I received a message like the one that landed in my WhatsApp the other day, I would shrink inside and carry a sour feeling in my stomach for days. At best, I’d ignore it. At worst, I’d think I was far better than whatever was about to happen there. And still - this time it happened again. My first reaction was the same: a contraction. But today I know something I didn’t know back then: Feeling this contraction is part of nature’s survival mechanism. And today I also know how to give those difficult, paralysing feelings their space: Only after I breathed deeply, I looked at the message again—and suddenly I could see what this invitation might really have to offer me. It wasn’t easy to get here. It’s something I agreed to learn. I recorded a new and very frank podcast episode about this kind of learning: the one we keep doing all our lives, if only we’re willing. I hope it'll talk to you. Noa Brume

    E. 20 - The Unspoken Part of Giving Birth - With Tamar Shain Paz

What an incredible thing a new baby is! The house fills with the sweet scent of babies; everything feels soft, pleasant, and quiet, and we enjoy protecting and cuddling the little one. But childbirth also has another side. With the arrival of a baby can come emotional challenges and unmet needs, particularly for the mother, who tends to give her all to the baby. Strong tension can arise between the new parents, and if there are siblings in the picture, they too require their share of attention. Add hormones into the mix, and you have a situation that can be quite challenging to say the least. And if it’s a birth following a loss, then it’s an even more complex and delicate story for everyone involved. But this is something hardly anyone talks about. Which is why it’s so fortunate that people like Tamar Shein Paz exist — experts who specialise in supporting women and families in the days and months after welcoming a sweet baby into the world. My conversation with Tamar was nothing short of fascinating, and I hope you’ll share this episode with anyone who’s currently pregnant (no matter which pregnancy), and especially with anyone who’s recently given birth. ****************** To reach Tamar: Tamar Shain-Paz, woman, mother, anthropologist, postpartum doula. https://www.instagram.com/tamarshain/?hl=en https://www.tamarshainpaz.co.il/

Loss is part of life. We all know that and will experience it, whether we want it or not. But what happens when you're a caregiver? Are you experiencing loss then? Or when you move to a different country... what about then? Do you experience loss then too? Alexis Downing is a coach that is specialising in helping people embrace loss, especially what she calls "living loss", a situation when someone is (slowly) losing a loved one, and all that comes with it. She also supports caregivers in the challenges they are facing. We spoke about all that and more in this episode, in which she has put a mirror in front of my face! E. 11 - Overcoming Emotional Abuse - With Paulina Wyrwas

In this fascinating episode, I learned from Paulina two main things: 1. The sheer scale of emotional abuse 2. There's such a lot one can do with it, to the point of overcoming it and moving on stronger. Our former student Paulina Wyrwas specialises in coaching people who are going through emotional abuse and helps them to deal with their abusers and overcome whatever bad situation they're finding themselves in. Listen to her and to the stories she's sharing from her clients' work (with their permission of course, and with changes of names too. It was very important for her that I mention it, so I do). Was this episode interesting? Please share it. Would you like to work or follow Paulina?
