021 - Butterfly 3000 & Butterfly 3001
On KGLW's 18th studio record, we find them solidly in the realm of synth pop. Most of the record is built around synth loops, which is just so fucking different from what we're used to that it does take a second to get used to. Ultimately, it's a cool record that does sweet things, which is all we could really ask for, isn't it?

It's episode 20 and Stu has finally become a g-g-g-g-g-ghooooooooost! Yael says that that joke doesn't work, so I want to clarify that I'm talking about his ghostlike "woo"s in K.G.L.W. Outro, which is by far the best track on the album (except for Ataraxia) and the most ghostly track on the album. I love ghosts. 018 - Chunky Shrapnel, Demos Vol. 1 & Demos Vol. 2
In this episode we watch and listen to the documentary/concert film/live album Chunky Shrapnel as well as dive into Demos Vol. 1 & Demos Vol. 2. Weird week. Feels kinda lonely not having a full new album to listen to. I guess you can take some of this time to go listen to one of those albums of the year contenders you keep hearing about. Converge looks promising.

It's another collaborative album and this one comes at us with tinges of jazz, Ethiopian music, and way too many instrumentals. Seriously. Five instrumentals on this album. Fully instrumental album when?!? I guess that's probably Mango Sticky Rice. I wouldn't know yet.

007 - Quarters!
Ya like jazz? We're on to LP6: Quarters!! It's their jazz-rock record comprised of four 10:10 songs. It was... mostly good? We found radio edits for two of the songs, which were quite a difference from the 10:10 versions. Beyond that, we dive into Jason Galea's incredible music video for The River, which Yael dissects really nicely. I'd frankly missed a lot of what she caught, so I got a lot out of this conversation. 005 - Oddments
Well, it's a weird one. We're listening to the 4th studio album: Oddments. This one's a collection of songs that didn't fit anywhere else, so it's a little chaotic and incoherent. I don't mind it, too much, but it's a little hard to get into. Once you dive in, though, there's some real gems. Get into it with us. It's worth it.
