#367 S.O.D. — Speak English or Die: The Crossover Thrash Album That Started It All

In early July 1985, ¾ (or 75%) of the “Fistful of Metal” era of Anthrax (Charlie Benante, Scott Ian, and Dan Lilker) joined Billy Milano in the studio to form the legendary crossover thrash band S.O.D. (aka STORMTROOPERS OF DEATH) and in less than one week, recorded and mixed one of the most notoriously hilarious thrash albums of all time, SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE. In the highly unlikely event that you’re thinking “I don’t think I’ve ever heard of S.O.D…”, just think back to the good old days of Headbangers Ball in the late 80’s, with all of the vintage black and white film footage of trains slamming into each other head on, rodeos gone wrong, cars crashing, and failed BMX stunts. The bumper music that was the soundtrack to all of that visual chaos was actually from SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE. If you’re going to Rocklahoma this year, please be sure to stop by Camp Corruption and say “High” for us, get fully and properly relaxed, and then prepare to “blast ABBA in the middle of the night” before you JOIN US for a walk down metal memory lane as we celebrate one of the finest, rawest, and funniest albums in thrash metal history as we attempt to SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE talking about STORMTROOPERS OF DEATH. #366 Down Helmet STRAP IT DOWN TOUR Concert Review

“On a scale of 1 to 5 Honks, how many Honks would you give it…for their performance at the show?” The STRAP IT DOWN TOUR (featuring Spirit In The Room, Helmet, and Down) kicked off in relentlessly heavy fashion on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at The Eastern in Atlanta, Georgia, and we made our way down into the heart of the city to experience opening night firsthand, in the flesh. “I don’t wanna say anything off-putting…” The turnout was incredible, the venue was awesome, and the whole vibe of the entire evening was perfectly dialed in, with merch lines resembling what one might see at an amusement park and well-rehearsed, tight performances from each of the bands that were delivered loud and crystal clear (yet “not necessacelery” so loud that we were all “screaming at each other and not listening”), with the final crescendo of the evening being a massive jam that can only be described as “controlled chaos” as EVERYONE in the first two bands took the stage and proceeded to jam with Down on the outro to “Bury Me In Smoke” until the riffs and the grooves left everyone with a contact high. “Man, I hate those things!” Get ready for a taste of the brand-new DOWN tune, Blood Oath, remember why you should NEVER put your concert shirts in the dryer after you wash them, discover why being ultra “relaxed” is the only way to EVER travel in a Waymo, and get ready for some BONUS concert reflections worth its weight in Honks when you JOIN US as we share our post-game wrap-up of the first night of the STRAP IT DOWN TOUR! #365 Prong — Inside the 90s: Beg to Differ, The Cleansing & Rude Awakening

New York City. A place where the subways never close, you can hit any deli, diner, or pizzeria in town at all hours (“in the middle of the night”) for a bite to eat, and your soul will become properly calloused with a “G.F.Y.” mentality and attitude in the most hard core, New York way imaginable. And when it comes to infusing that kind of attitude into metal, NYC’s PRONG has quite literally turned that into an artform. Formed in “The City That Never Sleeps” in 1986, PRONG had two independent releases (Primitive Origins in 1987 & Force Fed in 1988) before signing to Epic records in 1989. With a sonic palette consisting of crossover thrash which would eventually morph into the “then” emerging sound of groove metal* combined with subtly understated industrial soundscapes, PRONG would become one of the earliest crossover bands to blend thrash, groove, and industrial metal into a unique, attitude driven style that would heavily impact the next wave of metal to come in the 90’s. Get yourself a taste of the brand-new single “The Banner” from Prong’s forthcoming self-titled album, realize that snakes “roll around and do stuff” just like people do (“in the middle of the night”) and get ready for a special, remixed edition of the Outro Reel that will absolutely leave you breathless when you JOIN US as we go INSIDE THE 90’s with PRONG. (*Yes, even before that other groove metal band from the 90’s whose name also starts with the letter “P”). #364 DOWN & Helmet — Strap It Down Tour Pre-Game: Atlanta 2026

“It’s been a while since we’ve been to a show together…” The STRAP IT DOWN Summer Tour kicks off on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at The Eastern in Atlanta, Georgia, featuring DOWN, HELMET, & SPIRIT IN THE ROOM, so naturally, we decided to engage in a little PRE-GAME preparation to get in the right headspace for the show. As you may recall, we last traveled to The Eastern back in 2024 when we saw King Diamond and Overkill, and the sound and layout of the venue made for one of the best concert experiences we’ve had in quite some time. Having said that, we are equally excited to get to see DOWN & HELMET on the first date of this tour at this venue as this show (and tour) promises to be one of the most crushing metal events of the summer. Always remember that when you’re buying tour shirts to “get ‘em big, because when you do laundry, things shrink”. #363 PRIMUS Pork Soda Album Review

“Chimpanzee, he said it…he said chimpanzee…” PRIMUS is always a fun stop on the road to Relaxerville (especially if you’ve got something to inhale), and PORK SODA (the band’s 3rd official studio long player) is the perfect soundtrack for just such an occasion. Released on April 20th, 1993, almost 50 years to the day after Albert Hofmann’s legendary trip on Bicycle Day, PORK SODA ups the dosage of weird that was previously experienced on Sailing the Seas of Cheese with a unique formulation that only PRIMUS is capable of delivering. If anything, PRIMUS should be called “psychedelic metal” because in a weird way, that’s kind of exactly what it is. It’s jazzy, ugly, funky, and heavy, with some of the most potent, caricaturized, and cartoonesque lyrics in metal delivered in the weirdest, most absurd & surreal manner possible. For people who have never ingested entheogens and wonder what Dr. Hofmann’s historic lysergic fueled bike ride might have been like, PORK SODA is an excellent reference point. Discover the difference between low rise jeans & high-rise jeans (and find out why one variety is (allegedly) better than the other), understand that Amber Alerts are “only important if your girlfriend’s name is Amber”, and “go get you some weird” before you JOIN US as we crack open a can of PORK SODA and marvel at the wonderous weirdness of PRIMUS. #362 The Class of 1997: Metal Albums That Defined a Surreal Year

“How many people do you think go into a bar and say: ‘I’d like an Everclear on the rocks, please…’?” Looking back, 1997 seems utterly surreal… To put things in perspective, 1997 marked the debut of South Park on Comedy Central, the release of Radiohead’s breakthrough, third album, OK Computer, the beginning of the final season of Seinfeld, and (of course) the arrival of Metallica’s conclusion to The Loads with Reload. Perhaps one of the most surreal (and tragic) parts of 1997 was the time a bunch of children in a band called Hanson went viral with a song called MMMBop while a lesser known, criminally underrated, and FAR SUPERIOR band (with an extremely similar sounding name, consisting of former members of Helmet & Quicksand) called Handsome released their one (and only) album, Handsome, earlier that same year. Sometimes life is just too weird and utterly unfair… It’s time to discover the power of “a better magical piece of paper” that is not a college degree and understand that whenever someone uses the term ‘dating’ that “we know exactly what they’re talking about”. Find out who “stayed metal the whole time”, who was “chuggin’ the D”, and who wasn’t going to metal shows “unless it was Metallica” when you JOIN US as we go back in time almost 30 years with THE CLASS OF 1997. #361 Psycroptic - Inside the Metal

“It’s the most readable death metal logo I’ve ever seen in my life…” Dave and Joe Haley. If you’re trying to understand the importance of this particular drum & guitar team, just think of some of the other legendary “band of brothers” in the metal community that come to mind who have gone on to elevate and transform modern music as we know it…brothers such as Alex & Eddie Van Halen and Vinnie & Darrell Abbott. #360 Nuclear Blast Records

Summary: “Have you ever been to a buffet where you literally try everything?” Sometimes the best way to find your new favorite things is to just sample a lot of different things until you find the things that you enjoy the most. As with a buffet…or even dating, you just “grab something” you think you might like and “give it a taste”. If you like it, you keep going back for more. And if it’s not your thing, you simply continue the process of sampling and tasting other things until you find something you truly enjoy. Founded by Markus Staiger in Donzdorf, Germany way back in 1987, NUCLEAR BLAST has signed a myriad of metal artists over the years from across the spectrum of sub genres, ranging from hardcore and symphonic metal to industrial metal, thrash metal, and beyond, including some top tier legacy thrash bands from the 1980’s that enjoyed a resurgence in popularity during the 2000’s (fun fact: Slayer’s final studio album, Repentless, is the highest charting NUCLEAR BLAST release in the United States, making it to Number 4 on the Billboard 200.) In the context of this particular episode, we are referring to our recent sampling of the artist roster from NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS, and much like with dating and buffets, there were some bands we enjoyed more than others, some that were right up our alley and REALLY hit the spot, and some that just weren’t our cup of tea (so to speak), but rest assured that everything we sampled was most definitely interesting and we learned a few things along the way. Prepare for the most philosophical voicemail about metal music that we’ve ever received, realize that when it comes to power outages and paranormal activity that “I just wanna make sure that they know that I know that they know” and remember that “sometimes, wet’s not bad” when you JOIN US on our sampling expedition of the NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS artist roster. #359 1989 Metal and Thrash Albums

“No sink or nothing, right? You’re just gonna go free ball it…” 1989 was the very first year EVER that The Recording Academy recognized hard rock and metal music with the “Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental”. And other than the completely insulting “slap in the face” by The Recording Academy to Metallica (think Will Smith & Chris Rock, but even more childish, petty, and completely unnecessary), there were no other Big Four albums or happenings in 1989. (SIDEBAR: Y’know, maybe it’s just speculation, conspiracy theory, or just good old-fashioned karma in action, but the way Metallica “lost” that Grammy, it’s like they were literally “deleted from the mix” of nominees, so to speak. Not unlike a certain bass player from a certain mix on a certain album. Moving on…) “Just gonna raw dog it…” As we are all aware, metal (especially thrash) is far more than just The Big Four, and 1989 was actually quite an excellent year for metal. As thrash was nearing the zenith of its popularity, Wrathchild America’s debut album, Climbin’ The Walls, hit the record store shelves, Exodus, Testament, and Sepultura each released legendary 3rd albums, and Nuclear Assault released the first, the best, and arguably one of the most revolutionary lyric videos in the history of music for Critical Mass, featuring a one-eyed smiley face saying, “Follow me!” and a “Required Nasty Bit”, courtesy of Jessica Hahn. “What is YOUR favorite album of 1989?” Prepare yourself for a bit of obscure Metal Nerdery 1989-centric trivia, embrace what it means to receive your “first JOB”, and find out what you should definitely NOT do in your landlord’s pool when you JOIN US as we fire up the time machine and go check out THE CLASS OF 1989. #358 Tributes to the Fallen: Celebrating the Lives of Those We've Lost in Metal

Death. The word alone possesses the same tangible finality and permanence as the act itself. Death marks the end of one’s physical life & existence in this world and can come as a tragic, sudden, and untimely end, or as the sometimes “welcome” final resolution of life following a long, protracted period of illness and suffering. “We got to live on the same earth at the same time as all these dudes…” Regardless of how it presents, death impacts every single human on earth. Whether it’s the death of a loved one or our own mortality, it’s the one thing we as humans all share. And no matter what we do or how we live out our lives, eventually we will ALL be (as Lemmy so poetically put it) “killed by death” …and nobody has any idea “when” or “how” it will arrive. “Do you know how many Junes they lived through?” Over the course of our lifetime, we all bid farewell to the artists which have helped shape us as people, providing us with what would become the soundtrack to our lives. Many of our favorite artists passed away before we even became familiar with their work, and many have passed away so recently that we are still processing their loss from the perspective of our own lives and the impact that their lives and their art have had on us. “All you gotta do if you miss them is press play…” Having said that, we are not here to bemoan the losses we’ve experienced in the metal community so much as we are here to ask you to JOIN US as we CELEBRATE the legacy of those we have lost who have blessed our lives so richly with the timeless art they created that will forever transcend death. #357 Stone Temple Pilots — Core: The Album That Critics Hated and Fans Made Platinum

“I mean it’s June, so…” Released September 29, 1992, CORE, the debut album from San Diego, California’s own STONE TEMPLE PILOTS (or STP for short) is one of those albums that doesn’t really fit into the “grunge” category, nor does it fit into the traditional “heavy metal” box either. It’s certainly not grunge but is definitely “more metal than Pearl Jam”, and while there may be some subtle similarities here and there, they are as different as apples and apple sauce. “It’s June, man. Knock yourself out…” Of the STP discography, CORE is certainly their heaviest and most metal sounding album, offering a refreshing change to the musical landscape of the early 90’s with an alternative brand of metal filled with enough grunt and power to appeal to metal heads while simultaneously providing enough melody & hook to achieve the widespread popularity and mainstream crossover success that would lead to its 8x platinum sales status. Produced by Brendan O’Brien, a legendary name in the alternative metal scene during the 1990’s, CORE is “the heavier side of the ‘grunge’ thing”. You might say that STP’s CORE was “the next wave of metal that wasn’t Pantera…or thrash”. “We’ve only got 2 more weeks of June though…after June, you can’t do it.” Understand that “if you’re into naked Sundays you can look at everybody’s wicked garden” and enjoy a nice “piece of pie” in the process. And if you’re still trying to do the math to figure out what a trillionaire is, just remember that “a billion is a thousand million…a trillion is a thousand billion…” and when you have that much cash laying around, “it’s gonna be like Caligula…” when you JOIN US as we eat the apple all the way down to the seeds of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS’ transformative alternative metal debut, CORE. #356 - 1980: The Beginning of Modern Metal

The year is 1980. The U.S. National Debt is a paltry $900 Billion, the word “yuppie” appears for the first time in print, the Pac-Man videogame is released in arcades everywhere, Mount St. Helens explodes in Washington state, and Cable News Network (also known as CNN) becomes a thing. In the world of metal, Iron Maiden release their self-titled debut album, Black Sabbath reinvent themselves with new frontman Ronnie James Dio on vocals and release Heaven and Hell, and AC/DC regroup after the tragic loss of Bon Scott and release Back In Black featuring new vocalist Brian Johnson, an album that would go on to sell more than 40 million copies and become one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Just as time and technology continued marching forward, the hard rock of the 70’s continued its evolution into a new direction with a faster, heavier, and more aggressive sound beginning in 1980 that would become even faster, heavier, and more aggressive throughout the 80’s. Get ready for a taste of “Something Haunted” from the “Necronomidonkeykongimicon” and find out why “you gotta watch for the flops” if you want to get in the spirit and enjoy the FIFA World Cup. #355 The Greatest Metal Anthems of All Time

“I wanna hear THAT at my grocery store, when I’m going for the meat section…” Whether it’s the song we all rise for at sports ball events, the first song on Rush’s “Fly By Night” album (not to mention the first song on Anthrax’s EP of classic rock covers), or the sing-along, encore at the end of a rock show, ANTHEMS represent a clarion call, a rallying cry that unites fans in unspeakable joy, unity, and celebration. It’s almost always the song that EVERYONE knows (even your grandmother) and is very much NOT a deep cut. “AC/DC’s kind of an anthem band…they have at least one on every album…” In fact, ANTHEMS are those kinds of songs where, if you hear one in a public place: at a bar, a restaurant, the grocery store, or a friend’s party, you’re not going to NOT like it. Sure, it’s probably the most well-known, popular, played into the ground, mainstream “hit” that EVERYONE (again, probably even your grandmother) is familiar with, but no matter what song it is or where you might hear it, ANTHEMS are guaranteed to get you fired up, lift your spirit, and bring a smile to your face. “I wanna do a little birthday squig…” Find out what’s happening “THIS FRIDAY”, realize that birthdays are the anniversaries of life, and JOIN US for a Bunkerpoon birthday celebration full of cake, refreshments, and good cheer as we cuss and discuss the unifying power behind rock and metal ANTHEMS. #354 Headbangers Ball: The Greatest Metal TV Show Ever Made

“Today is all about 7’s…” We can’t believe it…it’s officially been SEVEN years since we began our podcasting journey, and as of this episode, we are celebrating SEVEN years of heavy metal podcasting excellence! And in the spirit of heavy metal greatness, what better way to celebrate and commemorate the completion of our SEVENTH year than a tribute to the best thing MTV ever did for metal heads that started way back in the late 80’s: HEADBANGERS BALL!!! “It was the novelty, because that was the only place where you could get it…” Premiering on Saturday April 18, 1987, MTV began what would become a weekly Saturday night tradition and/or ritual for metal heads with HEADBANGERS BALL, the one section of MTV that belonged to the metal community…it was OUR show, OUR music, and OUR videos, made by metal heads for metal heads (ironically, not unlike this podcast). “SEVEN!” Granted, there were often a lot of glam and hair metal videos mixed in, but there were always a plethora of obscure thrash, power metal, and other assorted heavy metal videos on there that you absolutely could not see anywhere else on MTV except for when you tuned in to “The Ball” (NOTE: this is where the crochety “back in my day” sentiment comes into play because, as everyone with access to the internet knows, in the late 80’s, rock radio sure as hell wasn’t doing much to promote metal artists, and we certainly didn’t have Spotify or YouTube at our disposal. “The Ball” was all we had…mark the time.). “They weren’t Trans then, dude…they were 100% dudes and they were the Savatage Brothers…” Break out your finest relaxers and get ready for a celebratory stroll down memory lane, and understand that since we’re discussing music videos, you’re gonna need all the sensory enhancement you can muster to thoroughly maximize your enjoyment of this episode. Find out who’s “lips are always out”, understand why calling a woman “handsome” is a dangerous move even with the proper context, see how many applicable references to “SEVEN!” you can find in this episode, and don’t deny the power of “The Dinklage” when you JOIN US as we celebrate our 7th birthday in nostalgic style with HEADBANGERS BALL. #353- Death — Scream Bloody Gore: The Album That Created Death Metal

“Would it be fair to say that horror metal and death metal are kinda…symbiotic?” Released May 25, 1987, SCREAM BLOODY GORE, the debut album from Florida death metal pioneers DEATH, marks a dark and transformative turning point from thrash metal into something else…something with “thrash overtones” that “sounds like thrash” but also doesn’t. While it seemed to be the next logical evolutionary step for extreme metal, we weren’t exactly sure what it was. It was still thrashy, yet there was a much darker presence to it than the thrash to which we were accustomed. “They don’t have the cookie monster vocals, which is kinda nice…” As it turns out, when you mix in the violent themes of horror movies like ‘Evil Dead’ with the sonic intensity of thrash metal, you end up with death metal, the genre which Chuck Schuldiner and DEATH helped establish in the mid 1980’s, putting Florida on the map as the death metal capital of the world. “They just have a sound…if you take the vocals out, you can tell it’s Death.” Discover how immersion reading can make Dr. Seuss and Lord of the Rings even more compelling, always remember where you should “NEVER put alcohol…”, and find out which song on this album was “renamed” (thanks to the PMRC) when you JOIN US (with special guest “Xander Bonerman”) as we explore the dark depths of the debut album from the band that revolutionized extreme metal by launching a brand new subgenre of horror infused thrash with DEATH and SCREAM BLOODY GORE. #352-The Ultimate Metal Ego Check: Bands That Named Songs After Themselves

“I wonder how many modern bands still do it?” Maybe the song is named after the band and referenced in the chorus. Maybe the song is named after the band but there’s no reference to the band’s name anywhere in the lyrics. Or maybe it’s a song with a completely different title than the band name BUT the band name IS mentioned somewhere in the lyrics. “They mostly do it during their early years…” Whatever the case may be, A METAL BAND’S TITLE TRACK ultimately becomes the cornerstone of a band’s sound and their overall mission statement and objective (especially when they’re young and just starting out). “Taylor Swift doesn’t have a song called ‘Taylor Swift’…and The Beatles don’t have a song called ‘The Beatles’…” Whether it’s about building a mood, declaring some philosophical ethos, or making a proud, self-referential namecheck for fans to latch on and lock in to, A METAL BAND’S TITLE TRACK sets the tone and lets the listener know what can be expected whenever they hear it. #351 Metal Church 'Dead to Rights' Review - Metal Church Prove They're Not Dead Yet

“It took me like a hard 16 seconds…but I got it down…I swallowed all of it…” Released April 10, 2026, DEAD TO RIGHTS, the 14th studio album in 40+ years from the mighty METAL CHURCH, features a new line up and a return to the power metal infused thrash style that made them a force to be reckoned with back in the 80’s, during the heyday of the (then relatively new) thrash scene. “I was proud of myself…that I finished that much…in so little time…” Featuring David Ellefson (formerly of Megadeth) on bass, Ken Mary (currently of Flotsam and Jetsam) on drums, and brand-new vocalist Brian Allen, DEAD TO RIGHTS contains all of the best elements of “The Dark” and “Blessing In Disguise” with the added blessing of modern production quality. This album is chock full of great riffs and catchy hooks that maintains the classic “flavor of Metal Church” with some upgraded, present-day refinements. “He’s got great gear…he’s got really nice gear…I kinda wanna play with his gear…” Find out why “Splitting The G” is an essential St. Patrick’s Day event for every holiday, get yourself a tiny sample of the brand-new Venom album, “Into Oblivion” (featuring Cronos), and find out why “the Metallica of the WCW” likes to enjoy “the Evil Bean with the Mean Gene” when you JOIN US as we embrace the power and the fury of METAL CHURCH with their latest offering, DEAD TO RIGHTS. #350 Was 1986 the Best Year in Metal? Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood, Peace Sells Turn 40

“If you were gonna be a stripper…what would your stage name be?” When you think about 1986, it’s almost hard to fathom that we are 40 years away from it. Four decades away from perhaps THE biggest year in metal, and we’re not just saying that because we were still young and impressionable, but because it was quite literally THAT epic of a year! March, September, and October of 1986 gave us Master of Puppets, Peace Sells… (But Who’s Buying?), and Reign In Blood (respectively), and that’s only 3 albums of thrash greatness from that year! There was also the (now classic) documentary “Heavy Metal Parking Lot”, showing a bunch of young metal heads pre-gaming for a Judas Priest show. And of course you had “Crossroads”, the favorite guitar movie of young fledgling woodshedding shredders who would become obsessed at mastering Eugene’s bag of tricks in order to conquer the dark fretboard sorcery of one Jack Butler. Basically, when it comes to 1986 and metal, “everything that was good came out that year”, and now, over 14,000 days later, 1986 is still being celebrated and lauded as one of the biggest landmark years in all of metal, especially on this podcast! Get ready to find out which movie is “basically Karate Kid…but guitars”, prepare for a grammar lesson from Down Under regarding the proper usage of one of their most popular words, discover the transformative power of “The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning”, find out how “saddling” might be just the thing to spice up your bedroom game, and then JOIN US as we welcome “Juicebox” to the mainstage while we celebrate those who graduated MAGNUM CUM LOUDLY from THE CLASS OF 1986!!! #349 - The First and The Last

“You like to hear how they have progressed or digressed…or either…or gressed…” This episode is a lot like looking at pictures of family when everyone is much younger and then looking at recent pictures of family and realizing that after enough time, a LOT changes. Just as people grow and age and (hopefully) evolve over time, no artist should currently be EXACTLY as they were when they first started, as there should be an obvious evolution and progression of their style and sound over multiple albums and decades, from their very FIRST to their very LAST. “I’m liking how this is going…we could do this for hours…” Prepare yourself for THE FIRST AND THE LAST, a snapshot in time from the killer opener on the very first album to the killer closer on the very last (or in some cases, most recent) album; basically it’s the very first from the very first paired with the very last from the very last. “The word of the episode, ladies and gentlemen, is…” By the time you’ve finished this episode, you will no doubt have “the word of the episode” carved deep into your subconscious, so much so that you’ll wonder where you put that lock blade buck knife your cousin gave you for Christmas. Realize that “sometimes you gotta check your oil” and a large majority of us “don’t think John Cougar knows how to eat a chili dog”. Get ready for another round of ASK THE METALHEAD, because “we’re doing things…and stuff…” down in The Bunkerpoon (including using fancy words and phrases like “comeuppance”) which is exactly why you should JOIN US for a retrospective comparing “now & then” with THE FIRST AND THE LAST: THRASH EDITION – VOL. 1. #348 - Black Sabbath Heaven And Hell Album Review

“This is the 80’s before the 80’s was the 80’s…” Released April 18, 1980, HEAVEN AND HELL, the 9th studio album by BLACK SABBATH (and the first to feature Ronnie James Dio on vocals), marks a simultaneous sonic departure and rebirth for the Godfathers of Metal. While some would argue that it sounds more like RJD’s solo output and NOTHING like the Sabbath of the 70’s, HEAVEN AND HELL is more than just “the next Sabbath album”. Featuring fantastical & medieval lyrical themes coupled with a revitalized songwriting style and renewed vigor, HEAVEN AND HELL is a brilliant example of how a band in desperate need of a “heavy metal makeover” can completely reinvent their sound and expand their artistic palette to accommodate a brand-new chapter for a brand-new decade. If you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers! Check out our newest segment, “ASK THE METALHEAD”. Find out who might just be “the Yoda of metal”, discover which song absolutely must be played on misty mornings, and realize that “the anxiety of being around family” can only be rivaled by the disturbingly high readings captured on the “goddamnometer” when you JOIN US from The Bunkerpoon Center for Metal Excellence as we celebrate 46 years of the BLACK SABBATH Mark II lineup with HEAVEN AND HELL.
