Sherri Shepherd on Telling a 9/11 Survivor’s Story, The View & Making Broadway History
Sherri Shepherd may be best known for making audiences laugh, but she joins Melissa Rivers to talk about one of her most powerful dramatic roles yet. In Lifetime’s "Angel in the Rubble: The Genelle Guzman Story", Sherri portrays Genelle Guzman-McMillan, the last survivor rescued from the World Trade Center rubble following the 9/11 attacks. Sherri shares the responsibility she felt telling Genelle’s story and honoring the first responders and survivors of 9/11. She also looks back on lessons learned from Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg on "The View", and making Broadway history as the first woman to step into the role of the Genie in Aladdin on Broadway.
