Ep 46 - No Clothes, No Sat Nav, No Way

This week on Man Like You, Mo Gilligan, Babatunde Aléshé and Eddie Kadi are back with another conversation that somehow goes from professional fighters and getting punched in the face… to Velcro, missing underwear, robot Hoovers and why Baba absolutely hates hypothetical questions. The boys ask what everyday thing could disappear tomorrow and completely break society? Sat nav? Contactless payments? Fridges? Dogs?! What starts as a simple question quickly descends into classic Man Like You chaos — including the terrifying prospect of a world without clothes. But amongst the madness, things get deeper as the boys ask: what actually makes a man respected? Is it money and status, or is real respect built through leadership, consistency, boundaries, vulnerability and simply being someone people can rely on? They also unpack why showing emotion can still be difficult for men — particularly Black men — and why vulnerability can sometimes command more respect than trying to appear tough. There’s also a brilliantly relatable conversation about fatherhood and making the effort even when you’re exhausted — from playing I Spy for the hundredth time to realising that sometimes your child doesn’t want another toy, they just want your attention and participation. And finally: what do you do when someone remembers you… but you have absolutely no idea who they are? The boys share their tactics, disasters and painfully awkward moments forgetting names — including being expected to remember someone they last met 16 years ago. Funny, honest, thoughtful and completely off the rails in places — basically, another episode of Man Like You. Like, subscribe and get involved in the comments: what makes you respect someone, and what’s one random everyday thing you genuinely couldn’t live without? Hosted on Acast. Ep 45 - I Would Never Do It Again

This week on Man Like You, Mo Gilligan, Babatunde Aléshé and Eddie Kadi are back around the table — and this one goes from deep to completely ridiculous in record time. Fresh from the release of his Netflix documentary, Mo opens up about what the experience really did to him behind the scenes — from eating fried chicken every day to the loneliness, emotional breakdowns and moments that pushed him into some seriously dark places. The boys talk vulnerability, showing a different side of yourself to the world, and what happens when a project changes you more than you expected. Then the conversation turns to where it all began. Why did they choose comedy? What made them take the risk and bet on themselves? And after years in the game, what is it about performing that still gives them a feeling they can’t find anywhere else? They also get into male friendship as you get older — whether grown men can still have a “best friend”, the different roles your closest boys play in your life, making new friends in your 40s, and the people who become more like brothers than mates. And because it’s Man Like You, somehow all of that sits alongside Baba’s now-infamous neck, getting older, dodgy knees, godfathers, first-date restaurants, Wagamama memories and an alarming amount of detail about Mo’s digestive system. Funny, vulnerable and very, very honest — this is the boys at their best. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 44 - Why Being a Kid in the 90s Was ELITE 😂

What did we love most about being kids — and what do we wish someone had taught us before we grew up? This week on Man Like You, Mo Gilligan, Babatunde Aléshé and Eddie Kadi are taking it all the way back. From six-week summer holidays, sleepovers and birthday money mysteriously disappearing into Mum’s pocket, to IKEA feeling like a genuine day out, old-school minicabs, skinny jeans and the forgotten TV shows that defined a generation. We also ask: What are the important conversations every father should have with his son? Money, heartbreak, failure, looking after yourself, confidence and preparing your children for a world they don’t fully understand yet — the boys share the lessons they had to learn the hard way and the ones they hope to pass on. And, naturally, it all ends with a battle over forgotten ’90s and 2000s television that gets VERY competitive. Another Episode not to be missed! Hosted on Acast.
