Book of Enoch Part 12: The Second Body — The Question That Started This Entire Investigatio
This is the episode that brings us all the way back to the beginning. Before the Watchers. Before the Nephilim. Before Azazel, Mastema, the spirits of the Giants, ancient remedies, and all the rabbit holes we’ve followed… There was one question that originally sent me searching through the Book of Enoch: Do humans have a second body? We never fully answered it. So in Part 12 of the Mama Rae Podcast’s Book of Enoch investigation, we’re finally going back. We begin with the strange story of Enoch himself. Genesis says Enoch “was no more, because God took him,” while Hebrews later says he was taken without experiencing death. But what happened to his body? From there, we trace the idea through 1 Enoch, its imagery of garments of glory and life, and into the much later 3 Enoch, where Enoch’s transformation becomes dramatically physical and he is associated with the heavenly figure Metatron. Then we reach one of the most important passages in this entire investigation: “It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.” — 1 Corinthians 15:44 So does scripture actually teach that humans have two bodies? Not exactly. What emerges from the texts may be even more interesting: an ancient belief in transformation — from mortal existence into another form of embodiment. We also examine what modern biology can and cannot tell us about the body’s ability to change and repair itself, why ancient scripture shouldn’t be treated as a biology textbook, and why the resurrection of Jesus adds another major piece to this mystery. And just when it seems like we’re finally answering the question that started everything… Adam opens another rabbit hole. What was humanity believed to be like before the Fall? Did humanity lose something beyond immortality? And if resurrection represents restoration… what exactly is being restored? The Book of Enoch Part 10: Noah’s Lost Book of Remedies & the Origin of Demons
What if the Book of Jubilees preserves an ancient account of medicinal knowledge given to Noah—and passed down to his son Shem? In Part 10 of our Book of Enoch investigation, we return to a fascinating detail we nearly left behind. After the Flood, Noah's descendants were reportedly afflicted by evil spirits. According to Jubilees Chapter 10, Noah prayed for protection, God ordered the spirits restrained, and Mastema requested permission to retain one-tenth of them. But what happens next is extraordinary. An angel is instructed to teach Noah remedies involving herbs of the Earth. Noah records this knowledge in a book and passes it to his eldest son, Shem. What happened to that book? And why was this knowledge permitted when the Watchers had previously been condemned for revealing forbidden knowledge to humanity? We investigate the ancient texts and follow the story into the New Testament, where Jesus encounters demons who recognize His authority and fear being sent into the abyss. In this episode, we explore: The origin of evil spirits according to 1 Enoch. Mastema and the surviving tenth of the spirits. Noah's prayer and the remedies described in Jubilees. THE FILIPINO HISTORY AMERICA FORGOT: Human Exhibitions, Empire & the Complicated Truth.
Filipino people were once brought to the United States and displayed before paying American audiences. When I first came across that claim, I didn’t believe the story could be as straightforward as social media made it sound. So I investigated it. What I found was not just one disturbing exhibition—but an entire chapter of Filipino-American history many Americans were never taught. In 1904, more than a thousand Filipinos were brought to the St. Louis World’s Fair, where a 47-acre “Philippine Reservation” presented Filipino peoples and cultures to American spectators only a few years after the United States took control of the Philippines. Then, in 1905, approximately 50 Bontoc Igorot people were brought to Coney Island, where paying crowds watched performances in an attraction promoted as an “Igorrote Village.” But those exhibitions cannot be understood without examining what surrounded them. The Philippine-American War. America’s colonial rule over the Philippines. The debate over whether Filipinos were supposedly “ready” to govern themselves. The racial theories used to justify empire. The treatment of Filipino immigrants in America. The 1930 Watsonville anti-Filipino violence and killing of Fermin Tobera. And an extraordinary contradiction involving Black American soldiers sent to fight Filipinos overseas while facing segregation and racial oppression at home—including David Fagen, who defected from the U.S. Army and joined Filipino forces. Then history takes another turn. Decades after colonizing the Philippines, the United States fought alongside Filipinos against Imperial Japan and helped liberate the islands during World War II. Eventually, the Philippines gained independence. Former colonizer and colony became military allies. Today, that alliance sits at the center of one of the world’s most strategically important regions as tensions involving China, Taiwan and the South China Sea shape American and Philippine security. So which version of history is true? That America colonized the Philippines? That Filipinos resisted American rule? That Filipino people were exhibited before American audiences? That Filipinos experienced horrific anti-Filipino violence in the United States? That America later helped liberate the Philippines from Imperial Japan? All of them. History does not require us to erase one truth to acknowledge another. BOOK OF ENOCH PART 9: Sirens, Demons & Monsters in the Ancient Bible?
Our investigation into the Book of Enoch just opened a much bigger door. In Part 8, we followed the forgotten women of the Watcher story—the human wives who became the mothers of the Giants—and discovered that one surviving Greek tradition of 1 Enoch associates them with Sirens. But why would an ancient Jewish text use a creature we now classify as Greek mythology? That question led us somewhere unexpected. In Part 9, we investigate the creatures modern readers often separate into the category of “mythology”—and ask what the ancient world may actually have understood them to be. We examine the Greek Septuagint’s surprising language involving Sirens, demons and onocentaurs, the mysterious lilit of Isaiah, Azazel and the significance of the wilderness, and the extraordinary descriptions of Leviathan and Behemoth preserved in Scripture and 1 Enoch. We also explore an important historical problem: ancient people did not necessarily divide religion, history, nature, folklore and the supernatural into the neat categories we use today. So were these simply ancient names for animals? Symbols of chaos and judgment? Spiritual beings ancient people genuinely believed existed? Borrowed mythology? Or different cultures interpreting similar traditions through their own religious worldviews? We separate textual evidence, history, translation, theology and speculation as we follow the evidence. And underneath all of these strange creatures, Enoch may be making a surprisingly consistent point: Chaos has power. Evil has power. But neither has ultimate authority. Not the Watchers. Not Azazel. Not Mastema. Not Leviathan. Not Behemoth. And whatever the ancient Sirens represented—not them either. We’ve followed the story of the spirits left behind after their deaths. But there’s another group in this story that is rarely talked about: The women. In Part 8 of the Mama Rae Podcast investigation into the Book of Enoch, we follow one of the strangest threads in the ancient Watchers tradition—the human women who became the mothers of the Giants. CHINA vs. THE PHILIPPINES: The Conflict the World Can’t Afford to Ignore — And What Tibet Reveals
China and the Philippines are confronting each other over one of the most strategically important bodies of water on Earth—and the tension is no longer confined to ships at sea. In this episode of the Mama Rae Podcast, we break down the escalating dispute in the South China Sea, the Philippines’ legal position, China’s rejection of the landmark 2016 international arbitration ruling, and why encounters involving coast guard vessels, military aircraft and regional allies matter far beyond the Philippines. We also look at Tibet. Because while these stories may appear unrelated, they raise some of the same questions about sovereignty, territorial control, international law, information—and what happens when Beijing’s version of events collides with people challenging it. We examine what China says. What the Philippines says. What international law actually says. And what can be independently verified. Then we return to our ongoing investigation into the August 26 Nepal–Tibet catastrophe, where questions remain about casualty reporting, access to affected Tibetan communities, censorship, glacier and hydrological data sharing, and what warning signs may—or may not—have existed before the Langtang rock-and-ice collapse. UPDATE SINCE RECORDING: The confrontation has now spilled dramatically into an international defense forum. While Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. was speaking at the Seoul Defense Dialogue about the South China Sea and the 2016 arbitration ruling, he was handed a note conveying China’s position that the ruling is “illegal, null and void.” Teodoro read portions of it publicly and challenged China’s rejection of the decision. China has since responded, accusing the Philippines of “provocations and theatrics” and again rejecting the arbitration ruling. That exchange does not represent a military escalation—but it demonstrates how openly confrontational the diplomatic relationship has become. There is also an important update to our Nepal–Tibet investigation: Reuters’ latest photographic reporting from the disaster zone is now using a figure of at least 1,380 recovered bodies and approximately 5,500 people still missing. Because casualty accounting remains fluid and other official figures have differed, we are continuing to treat these numbers as provisional rather than a final death toll. Lindsay Clancy: What Does the 911 Call Actually Prove?
Jurors who heard Patrick Clancy’s 911 call have described his reaction after discovering his children as horrifying, visceral and unforgettable. But an emotional reaction—even an extraordinarily powerful one—is not the same thing as forensic evidence. So I went back to the testimony with a very specific question: What does the 911 recording actually corroborate? Patrick testified that after finding Lindsay outside their home, she told him, “I tried to kill myself.” He also testified that when he asked where their children were, Lindsay told him, “They’re in the basement.” Those statements have become an important part of the public narrative surrounding this case. But were they actually captured on the 911 recording? In this episode, we separate Patrick’s sworn recollection from what witnesses and experts said could actually be heard on the recording. We examine reporting from journalists who heard the restricted 911 call in court, Patrick’s testimony about difficulties connecting with 911, and an especially important exchange involving prosecution expert Dr. Gregory Saathoff—who listened to the recording and testified about what he could and could not hear Lindsay saying. We also examine something I’ve seen repeatedly since jurors began speaking publicly: Patrick sounded genuinely horrified—so does that prove he couldn’t possibly have known what happened beforehand? Psychologically, no. Human emotional responses cannot reliably establish prior knowledge. But that works both ways: Patrick’s reaction also isn’t evidence that he did know. Possibility is not proof. And an inconsistency—or an inability to independently corroborate someone’s recollection—doesn’t automatically establish deception. That’s why this episode is not an accusation against Patrick Clancy. I have found no evidence establishing that Patrick participated in the deaths of his children, and he has not been charged with doing so. Instead, we’re asking a narrower evidentiary question: What was testified to? What was recorded? What can be independently corroborated? And where does the evidence simply require us to say, “We don’t know”? We also revisit why describing Lindsay as having “confessed to Patrick” may oversimplify what the evidence actually establishes. Investigative journalism isn’t about finding the most suspicious explanation. It isn’t about finding the most comforting explanation either. It’s about following the evidence—and having the discipline to stop where the evidence stops. Cora. Dawson. Callan. They remain at the center of this case. Lindsay Clancy: The Jurors Are Talking — And So Is Patrick Clancy
The Lindsay Clancy trial ended in a mistrial—but the conversation surrounding this case is far from over. Now, jurors are beginning to speak publicly about what happened behind closed doors during nearly 40 hours of deliberations. Multiple jurors have described an apparent 11–1 division, with eleven jurors prepared to find Lindsay Clancy not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. According to the foreperson and other jurors who have spoken publicly, the remaining juror acknowledged having reasonable doubt but would not join the others in acquitting Lindsay. Those are the jurors’ accounts—not a judicial finding—and the holdout juror has not publicly provided his version of what happened. But that isn’t the only development. Patrick Clancy’s attorneys are responding to online accusations against him, describing them as false and defamatory, saying law enforcement has been notified and warning that legal action may be pursued against people making unsupported accusations. So where does that leave journalists, podcasters and members of the public who still have legitimate questions about the investigation? In this episode, I talk about exactly that. We examine what the jurors are now saying, what one juror revealed about Patrick’s devastating 911 call, why Lindsay’s own attorney Kevin Reddington is publicly rejecting conspiracy theories accusing Patrick, and why questioning evidence or criticizing an investigation is fundamentally different from accusing someone of committing murder. We’re also talking about the First Amendment—what freedom of speech and freedom of the press actually protect, and what they do not mean when someone makes potentially defamatory statements of fact. I still have questions about this case. I still believe investigators, prosecutors, witnesses and evidence in a public criminal proceeding can—and should—be scrutinized. But having questions does not give us permission to turn suspicion into fact. Both things can be true. ⚠️ UPDATE AFTER RECORDING — SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 After this episode was recorded, another significant development emerged. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington announced that he intends to ask the court on September 29 to dismiss the charges against Lindsay Clancy on double-jeopardy grounds. Reddington is expected to argue that there was no “manifest necessity” for the mistrial, particularly in light of what jurors are now publicly saying about the deliberations and the lone holdout. No judge has accepted that argument or dismissed the charges. It is the defense’s forthcoming legal position, and prosecutors will have an opportunity to oppose it. Lindsay Clancy: You Asked What I Think — Here’s Why I Have Questions
You asked me what I think about the Lindsay Clancy case. So I’m finally answering. I did not cover the Lindsay Clancy trial on the Mama Rae Podcast. I watched it as a spectator. Normally, this podcast focuses on stories I believe are not receiving the attention they deserve—or pieces of history and evidence that create what I call a Mama RAE moment: a Reality Aligned Experience. But after enough family, friends and listeners asked where I stand on this case, I decided it was time to explain—not only what I think, but why. In this episode, I go back to the evidence presented at trial and examine some of the questions that have stayed with me. What did Lindsay Clancy actually allegedly say to Patrick that night—and does the evidence support describing it as a “confession”? What can actually be heard on the 911 call? How much of the narrative comes from contemporaneous evidence, and how much comes from later recollections? Why did highly qualified mental-health experts reviewing the same woman reach dramatically different conclusions about her diagnosis, psychosis and criminal responsibility? What did Chaplain Sheila Cavanaugh testify Lindsay told her—and what was, and was not, contained in her contemporaneous hospital notes? I also explain why I began looking more closely at Patrick Clancy and the investigation itself. That does not mean I am accusing Patrick of killing his children. I am not. No evidence presented in this episode establishes that, and he has not been charged with their deaths. But I believe questioning whether an investigation adequately examined every reasonable possibility is fundamentally different from accusing someone of committing a crime. So we’re separating them. Documented evidence. Witness recollection. Medical testimony. Expert opinion. Allegation. Internet speculation. And my own analysis. I also address claims surrounding law-enforcement relationships and money—and explain where I could substantiate something, where the evidence was incomplete, and where I simply could not find reliable evidence supporting claims circulating online. Then there is the jury. After seven days and roughly 36 hours of deliberations, the jury could not unanimously agree. The trial ended in a mistrial on September 4, 2026. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington has publicly characterized the division as 11 jurors favoring acquittal and one favoring conviction, although that precise vote has not been independently confirmed by the court. Three children died: Cora, Dawson and Callan Clancy. They should never become secondary to the debate surrounding this case. This episode isn’t about telling you what to believe. It’s about showing you why I still have questions. Because a Reality Aligned Experience doesn’t mean searching for evidence that confirms what you already believe. It means being willing to change what you believe when the evidence demands it. The Dead Sea Scrolls Are Still Talking: New Discoveries in Our Enoch Investigation
Ancient history is not finished. In 2026, researchers are still deciphering, reconstructing and reexamining manuscripts connected to the world in which the Book of Enoch circulated—and some of the newest scholarship is opening fascinating new doors in our investigation. In this episode of the Mama Rae Podcast, we return to Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls to examine several important developments. Researchers have published the first decipherment, transcription and translation of two mysterious Dead Sea Scroll manuscripts—4Q362 and 4Q363—written in the previously undeciphered Cryptic B script. So what did they say? And why were ancient writers using cryptic writing in the first place? Then we return directly to 1 Enoch. Ancient Aramaic manuscripts associated with Enochic literature survived among the Dead Sea Scrolls, including material connected to the Book of the Watchers and Enoch’s extraordinary astronomical traditions. We examine new scholarship involving the Greek Book of the Watchers preserved in Codex Panopolitanus, including the provocative argument that aspects of the manuscript may preserve or adapt much older Jewish scribal traditions. And then our investigation reaches Babylon. New research into the **Aramaic Astronomical Book of Enoch—4Q208 through 4Q211—**is helping scholars investigate possible connections between Enoch’s descriptions of the heavens and ancient Babylonian astronomical knowledge. That raises an enormous question: Where did the astronomical knowledge preserved in Enochic literature come from—and why was Enoch chosen as the figure entrusted with heavenly knowledge? We also revisit the Watchers, Genesis 6, the Nephilim tradition, Qumran, ancient scribes and the remarkable journey that allowed Enochic literature to survive across languages, cultures and centuries. But we’re keeping one rule throughout this investigation: Evidence first. A newly deciphered manuscript is not automatically a lost Book of Enoch. A scholarly interpretation is not an archaeological fact. And manuscript evidence demonstrating that ancient people preserved stories about Watchers does not scientifically prove that supernatural beings descended to Earth. We will separate what archaeology establishes, what scholars propose, what ancient texts claim and what remains unknown. Because perhaps the biggest question is no longer simply: Why isn’t Enoch in most modern Bibles? Maybe we should also be asking: Why was Enoch important enough that ancient communities kept copying it in the first place? The deeper we go into this investigation, the bigger that question becomes. The Book of Enoch Investigation — Part 6: The Angels Who Never Fell & The Mystery of Mastema
For five episodes, we’ve investigated the angels who rebelled. The Watchers. Azazel. Shemihazah. The Nephilim. Forbidden knowledge. Judgment. But what about the angels who didn’t fall? In Part 6 of the Mama Rae Podcast’s ongoing investigation into the Book of Enoch and the ancient texts surrounding it, Rachel turns the investigation toward the heavenly beings who remained loyal to God—and discovers that the ancient supernatural hierarchy may be far more complicated than many of us were taught. We investigate Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel—four extraordinary heavenly beings who appear across biblical writings, 1 Enoch and other ancient Jewish and Christian traditions. Who were they? We meet a mysterious figure from the Book of Jubilees: Prince Mastema. After the Flood, Jubilees describes evil spirits troubling Noah’s descendants. God orders the spirits restrained—but Mastema petitions for a portion of them to remain under his authority. According to the text, nine-tenths are restrained while one-tenth are permitted to remain. That discovery opens an entirely new investigation. Who—or what—is Mastema? Why is he permitted to command these spirits? Why does he appear to operate within limits established by God? And could Mastema be connected to the supernatural adversary later generations would identify as Satan? We compare Mastema with the “satan” appearing in Job and examine other ancient adversarial figures including Belial and Azazel. But there is an important distinction. The spirits placed under Mastema’s authority are not necessarily the imprisoned Watchers themselves. According to the supernatural framework found in 1 Enoch, the dead giants leave behind spirits that remain upon the earth. And that raises perhaps the biggest question of this investigation yet: What did these ancient writers believe was still here? Part 6 examines the texts without pretending they all say the same thing. NEPAL DISASTER UPDATE: Families Are Holding Funerals Without Their Dead
We just published Part 2 of our Nepal–Tibet disaster investigation. But we promised you we would stay on top of this story. And this update cannot wait. In Nepal, the enormous number of dead and missing has created another crisis—one involving religion, culture and the basic human need to say goodbye. Authorities have begun temporarily burying some unidentified victims as morgues and forensic facilities struggle with capacity and decomposition. Before burial, officials say DNA samples are being collected, photographs and identifying features are being documented, and identification numbers are being assigned so remains can potentially be returned to families later. But for many Hindu families, burial presents a profound religious concern. Cremation and specific final rites carry deep spiritual significance. And thousands of families still do not have the bodies of the people they lost. Some families are now holding symbolic cremation ceremonies, using effigies made from materials such as straw or sacred kusha grass to represent loved ones whose remains have never been recovered.
