Returning to God in Times of Crisis

Dr. Boa starts his journey through the book of Jeremiah, entering deeper into the prophet’s extraordinary calling and the spiritual landscape of Judah’s unfolding crisis. Jeremiah’s ministry reveals both the seriousness of Israel’s covenant unfaithfulness and the unwavering faithfulness of God, who persistently calls His people back to Himself. We explore how Jeremiah embodies a life formed by God’s word—speaking truth with compassion, confronting sin with clarity, and offering hope even in the midst of impending judgment. His message reminds us that turning away from the living God always leads to brokenness, yet returning to Him opens the way to renewal and restoration. As always, our aim in this study is to understand the text in its historical context while drawing out its enduring relevance for the disciple’s journey today. Jeremiah challenges us to examine our loyalties, to reject false sources of security, and to anchor our lives in the One who remains faithful through every generation. Grace, Faith, and the Righteousness of God

We begin our journey through one of the most profound and transformative letters ever written. Paul’s message in Romans lays out the power of the gospel, the reality of human sin, and the beauty of God’s saving righteousness revealed in Christ. From the very start, Paul declares that the gospel “is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes," a truth that frames the entire study. This opening session sets the stage by exploring Paul’s purpose in writing, the historical context of the early church in Rome, and the themes of grace, faith, and new life that will unfold throughout the series. Romans invites us to see ourselves honestly, recognize our need for redemption, and marvel at the God who justifies the ungodly through Christ. When God Exposes Rebellion and Promises Restoration

In this session we walk through the book of Ezekiel, where God uses powerful object lessons to confront Israel’s sin and call them to repentance. Ezekiel’s symbolic actions—lying on his side, shaving his head, and digging through a wall—show how seriously God views rebellion. Yet God also promises restoration: “Then you will know that I am the LORD when I have dealt with you for My name’s sake” (Ezekiel 20:44, BSB) To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.lightsource.com/donate/1402/29

Living Wisely: Making the Most of Every Opportunity

Ken Boa continues to trace Paul’s remarkable vision of what it means to live as God’s people in a world that constantly pulls us in other directions. Paul reminds us that we have been called out of darkness and into the light of Christ, and that our lives are meant to reflect that transformation. “Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8) becomes both an invitation and a standard. As we explore this section of the letter, Paul’s words challenge us to examine the patterns, desires, and habits that shape our daily choices. He urges believers to walk in wisdom, making the most of every opportunity (Ephesians 5:15–16), and to let the Spirit guide every aspect of life—relationships, speech, decisions, and worship. The Heart of Transformation: Living in Light of Eternity

In this video, Ken Boa explores what it means to realign your inner life with the eternal realities of God’s kingdom. Scripture reminds us that genuine transformation never begins on the surface but at the level of the heart. Paul writes that we are to “set our minds on things above, not on things that are on earth” (Colossians 3:2), and Jesus calls His followers to build their lives on His words so that they can withstand every storm (Matthew 7:24–25). We will look at how Scripture reorients our identity, reorders our loves, and redirects our daily practices toward what truly endures. As the psalmist writes, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.lightsource.com/donate/1402/29

This study helps us pause long enough to ask the deeper questions: What is forming me? What story am I living in? And how can I align today’s decisions with God’s larger, eternal narrative? The God Who Restores: Hope Through the Message of Ezekiel

Ken Boa explores the book of Ezekiel—one of Scripture’s most powerful portraits of God’s holiness, human rebellion, and the astounding mercy the Lord extends to those who turn back to Him. Ezekiel reveals a God who is never indifferent to sin, yet never unwilling to restore the repentant. The prophet’s visions remind us that God calls His people to return to Him so they may truly live. As we walk through this section of Ezekiel, we consider how his message speaks not only to ancient Israel but to every generation that drifts into idolatry of the heart. God exposes sin not to shame but to heal, offering cleansing, renewal, and a transformed spirit to those who respond to His call. These themes invite us to examine our own lives with honesty and hope. Ezekiel also lifts our eyes toward the God who keeps His promises. Even in judgment, the Lord declares that He will gather, restore, and breathe life into what seems beyond repair. His word brings renewal, just as He promised through the prophet when He spoke of giving His people a new heart and a new spirit [3]. Join us as we trace the threads of judgment, mercy, restoration, and the unfailing faithfulness of God woven throughout this extraordinary book. The Righteousness of God Revealed

Ken Boa addresses Paul’s rich explanation of the gospel—how God reveals His righteousness, exposes human sin, and offers redemption through Jesus Christ. In this study, we explore Romans 3:21–31 and examine how the apostle shows that every person stands guilty before a holy God, yet is offered grace through the finished work of Christ. Paul explains that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 BSB). Sin separates humanity from God, violating His justice and holiness. Yet the same passage goes on to proclaim the hope that sinners “are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24 BSB). God’s love does not ignore sin; instead, He satisfies justice through the atoning sacrifice of His Son, demonstrating that He is both “just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus” (Romans 3:26 BSB).
