Wilde: Packers Young Core Must Drive Defense
Jason Wilde joins Kyle and Brust to discuss Kyle’s theory that Edgerrin Cooper, Javon Bullard and Evan Williams can become the emotional core of the Packers defense. Wilde agrees, saying all three are good players and that Bullard in particular looks like a breakout candidate in Jonathan Gannon’s system. He also shares Zaire Franklin’s confidence in both the linebackers and safeties, while noting that Green Bay still has to prove how this new defense will actually look. Wilde then turns to Matthew Golden, calling him one of the players he is most eager to see elevate after a developmental rookie season. The segment closes with a Jordan Love discussion, as Wilde pushes back on the idea that Matt LaFleur has been holding Love back while still acknowledging Green Bay’s offense needs to be excellent early without Micah Parsons.
