Vanakkam/ Namaste/Hello Everyone! We are back with another episode of #insidethemindsofgreatyogis. In this episode, We spoke with Ebony on the 87th episode and loved hearing her perspective on yoga! About Ebony: Ebony is a 200-Hour Experienced Yoga Teacher, a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, and a Rest Facilitator with a deep passion for empowering communities to thrive through rest. Her yoga journey began in 2017 as a way to cope with stress and anxiety, and it completely transformed her life. Yoga gave her the tools to advocate for herself, and in 2020, she discovered the profound power of restorative yoga, yin yoga, and Yoganidra. These practices became a safe space for her to rest and reset during a chaotic times of the pandemic and they inspired her mission to share this gift with others. Empowered Rest Yoga was born out of this vision, but it wasn’t always called that. Originally known as Sacred Shakti Yoga, Ebony's business was focused on encouraging women to embody a go-getter mindset, to believe in themselves, and to chase their dreams relentlessly. Over time, she realized something was missing. In a culture that glorifies hustle, the most powerful thing we can do is rest. She rebranded to Empowered Rest Yoga to reflect her deeper calling: to advocate for mental health, teach the art of rest, and help women and other individuals move beyond burnout. Now, her work focuses on restful practices that encourage individuals to honor their well-being, set boundaries, and redefine their life on their own terms - all while dismantling hustle cultureA big thank you to Ebony for joining us in our 87th episode of #insidethemindsofgreatyogis and for giving us her valuable time. We hope we can do this again! Hear Ebony's perspective on yoga and the prominence of rest!
