Everyone talks about the destination. Nobody talks about the ninety minutes of fluorescent lighting, tannoy announcements and low-level panic that you're at the wrong gate.
In this episode, recorded at the gate before a flight, I get into why airports are one of the most honest tests of how I'm actually doing, and why for years I thought I was just bad at travelling when really an airport is every sensory and executive-function challenge stacked on top of each other at once.
I talk about what actually changed after my diagnosis, the systems I use now, getting over the guilt of asking for assistance, and the shift from surviving airports to managing them.
If you find airports draining, this one's for you. You're not bad at travelling. Airports are a lot.
