Can't Trust These People - Insanity Check
We had a bit of an unexpected forced hiatus for a couple of weeks but we’re back with a new Insanity Check episode. Topics: Ro explains why she ended up without Internet for a couple of weeks (spoiler: People are stupid) Every time you watch TV you’re getting at least 3 of the following in an ad break: GLP-1 commercials, ED drugs, Botox/Hair plugs, Easy-to-Cook meals or a Liberty Mutual commercial While I trust the science of GLP-1s and believe they truly do help people, I don’t trust the motives of the people behind them Jeff Bezos says A.I. will bring a 3-Day work week…from the same guy who wouldn’t give his employees pee breaks More people with agency and privilege need to start standing up for themselves so that people that unfortunately can’t, also benefit. The Boys That Cried Skynet - Insanity Check
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro and we’re talking A.I. Doom bullshit that is back in the news. But this time it’s really annoying because the media and otherwise smart people are seemingly falling for the trick the A.I industry is trying to pull to avoid from having to actually address real safety and concern around their “products”. Topics: One of the greatest tricks Conservatives/Republicans have ever done is completely misrepresenting and poisoning the discussion around taxes and why they are needed Jacob Coxon quits Anthropic to “warn” everyone about the “dangers” of OpenAI/Anthropic racing towards Super Intelligence and…it’s giving Sci-Fi bullshit If people really cared about A.I. safety they would be talking about all the harms and dangers the A.I. industry has been causing TODAY and not trying to scare people about Skynet level fantasies Silcon Valley has been operating like a religious Doomsday cult for decades…this isn’t new Months ago the A.I industry was saying they needed to pivot/do a better job, convincing the public to ease backlash, as weird as it sounds…this is the pivot. Because if there’s one thing Americans can be counted on, if you scare them enough, they won’t ask the right questions and will allow themselves to be easily manipulated into bad decisions and laws If you’re feeling really overwhelmed and scared/confused by all this rhetoric, here are some things that I think will help calm you a bit Cal Newport: Tech Billionaires are Lying to Us All Ed Zitron on the Tech Report Timnit Gebru: Deep Unlearning Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Speed Running Life - Insanity Check
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro are joined by Dpalm and well, you know how that goes. Apparently it’s not hard to scam people into believing that you’re a professional football player and take all their money; No seriously, how did anyone fall for Daejon Love? People are speed running life and it’s because as you get older, you get less and less time. People work longer and harder and have less time to do the things they want and a lot of that is the system we’re living in. Meta settles for 17 billion but they should have gotten the corporate death penalty Remember when the Flock CEO called Deflock a terrorist organization? Now he’s trying to compromise after all the bad press The Suno CEO gives and interview that’s supposed to make him sound better but it’s just more terrible CEO speak Guest: Ro & Dpalm @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ @dpalm66.bsky.social Like what you hear? Opt-In Mass Surveillance - Insanity Report
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro. People need hobbies not monetization opportunities. The grind and hustle is so tiring Monetizing our hobbies was a bad idea; It makes people have to decide between having fun or constantly chasing relevancy Marvel’s Doomsday movie list is the most basic list ever and yet some people still complain The need to be “first” and get “attention” is killing movie critic culture. Everyone hates Flock but let’s not forget to save some of that hate for Ring as well The tech industry has used benign and subtle tactics selling convenience that has tricked us into giving into mass surveillance RFK Jr gets made that he was fact check on his “$5 per portion” meal Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Crime as a Marketing Tool - Insanity Check
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro. The Tate brothers get arrested for charges out of the UK and some of the charges involve children (surprising no one) OpenAI’s recklessness leads to their A.I. model “hacking” Hugging Face but the majority of the media and coverage is spinning it inot a marketing opportunity for two companies that seem to have absolutely no idea what they’re doing with basic security That’s not what a sandbox is SpaceX and Tesla are crashing because the market is having a temporary moment of clarity and sanity A.I is going so well Ford had to rehire engineers it fired for A.I. EU fines Google There’s a concerted effort on the left to try to subvert Black voters in the Democratic Party and folks need to stop pretending like it’s not happening Dem primary 2028 schedule Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Stop Whining Part 2 - Insanity Check
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro. Politics and the corporate world have been flooded with middle managers that don’t get anything done and make getting actual results take forever The Graham Platner saga is finally over and goes down in an actual shit show as those of us with a brain knew it would Platner spends 11 minutes in is drop out video doing everything but excepting responsibility for his own actions. If the “white man does a bunch of dumb things to tank his own campaign but then blames the ‘establishment’ seems familiar it’s because it’s the Bernie Sanders method The consultants behind Platner did zero vetting of him and said voters didn’t want candidates grown in vats, as they grew a “white working class hero”…in a vat Would it surprise you that Dan Moraff also had sexual misconduct complaints? In true delusion, these folks thought Platner would box AOC out of a 2032 presidential run which should tell you everything about where these folks are coming from Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Stop Whining - Insanity Check
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro. We’re going to get back into Movie discussions soon. We’ll be going through our big catalog of movies and get back into just talking about the things we really enjoy and find entertaining Mamdani backed candidates in NYC have a clean sweep and establishment Democrats can’t stop whining about it. It’s not even about capitalist vs socialist…it’s about listening to the voters and seeing the way the wind is blowing How are you going to be the party that takes down fascism but a 32 year old socialist has you shook? Fun fact, Adriano Espaillat beat Charlie Rangel’s picked candidate and then the CBC wouldn’t let him join…kinda like how him and the rest of the Hispanic Caucus are acting with Chevalier. Wild This old white guy from Danville, VA put together a better campaign ad for his city council seat than the millions establishment Dems pay consultants for It’s not just NYC, Adrian Boafo only got 30% of the vote in MD-5 even though he was the hand picked replacement for Steny Hoyer (who would normally get 70% of the vote). While he won, he better start thinking about what it looks like in 2028 if he doesn’t get his shit together Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Getting High On Your Own Supply (of Lies) - Insanity Check
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode Kriss & Ro are joined by Justin. We ended up switching the main focus of today’s show because of the latest news about the US Government slapping export controls on the latest Anthropic model. A true case of “WTF did you think was going to happen?” Checking in on the resident Spurs fan to see how he’s doing and feeling US Government tells Anthropic it can’t release it’s new model to foreign nationals basically forcing the company to pull access This situation is entirely Anthropic’s fault for going around for months talking about how “dangerous” Mythos was A.I. companies got in bed with the US Government because they thought they could control government officials and get what they want. Instead they’re realizing they just made a deal with loan sharks backed by the mob Not to be left out and showing they’ve learned no lesson, OpenAI is trying to pull the “China is doing it” narrative to explain away why so many people hate data centers Justin hasn’t been following the Cheyenne Bryant debacle and well… Grifters are always going to Grift Guest: Ro & Justin @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ @ljay90.bsky.social Like what you hear? The Grifter Sweepstakes - Insanity Check
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro. Social Media is no longer about being social but rage baiting so that tech companies can get engagement in their products to sell ads The Stanford study on how A.I. is making it harder for people looking for a job Elon Musk is back to grifting and getting suckers to believe his BS. SpaceX is unprofitable but is still going for a ridiculous IPO valuation because nothing makes sense anymore NASDAQ changes it’s rules for SpaceX but thankfully the S&P 500 will not Anthropic is also wildly unprofitable and is filing for IPO (and so is OpenAI) because it’s time for the grifters to all case out Graham Platner is back in the News because apparently people couldn’t just walk away after the Nazi tattoo While it’s a good position to hold to not want politicians that take AIPAC money, it’s unfathomable to dig in on that while ignoring the massive red flags of Platner Tucker Carlson is making is post-MAGA turn in order to win over folks and we need people to be smarter this time Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Insanity Check: It Was Never About Policy
We’re back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro. One thing we don’t talk enough about is how COVID let us know how absolutely nasty everyone is Why does everyone who works for Anthropic sound like they’re in a cult? Anthropic thinks their A.I. tools having access to the same tools lawyers have mean their engineers can operate like they have law degrees How out of touch do you have to be to give a commencement speech praising A.I. and then look confused when you get booed. 30% of this country isn’t just voting against their own interests, they’re actively participating in trying to harm everyone else. They’re traitors. It’s not about policy positions We don’t give Mike Johnson enough shit for being an absolute fuck boy. What else explains him trying to defend Congress not getting paid enough and making the case for insider trading Briahna Joy Gray says she knows a lot of people on the left that would vote for Tucker Carlson for President over AOC and well…that’s because she’s an absolute moron Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Insanity Check: Donkeys Pretending to be Lions
We're back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro. We're seeing a bunch of men doing really horrible and stupid things all to hold on to their own privilege and power. Dr. Cerina Fairfax was murdered in her own home by her husband, former LT Governor Justin Fairfax which capped off a flurry of horrible acts by men in just the last week or so. Worse still was seeing the initial outpouring of love and compassion shown to Justin Fairfax...the man that murdered his wife. Men have created a world in which they have to be the providers and in charge and if there is any change to that, they can't come to terms with it and we have to be treated like babies. Enough is enough Fuck Justin Fairfax If you can kill your wife it probably means those sexual assault allegations went just allegations "Rape Academy" because...WTF are men doing? Dave Chappelle feels some kind of why that Republicans "weaponized" his trans "jokes" which....yeah...we told you that would happen Joe Rogan says he's political homeless...and then he goes to the White House for something he text the President about Sam Altman was the target of an attack and you can't help but blame the things that the AI companies and their CEOs are doing for leading to this Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Insanity Check: Death Cult of Stupidity
We're back with a new Insanity Check episode with Kriss & Ro scammed. We need to bring back Gate Keeping nerd culture. The "Bros" are ruining it Claiming you don't get "political" and you want "politics" out of TV/Movies/Books just means you want to stick your fingers in your ears and close your eyes so you don't have to every think or face reality Half of US Data Centers scheduled for 2026 are delayed or cancelled; Sure everything is fine Covid broke the brains of the ultra-rich and they're all staring down their own mortality and making the rest of us suffer for it Peter Thiel is doing anti-christ lectures in Rome because he hates himself Conservatives come off as hypocrites for criticizing and making laws against liberal things not because they fear them but because they hate that everyone else is happy and doesn't hate themselves like they do Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Two Questions - Insanity Check
We're back with a new Insanity Check episode and Kriss has scammed...I mean...asked... Dpalm to join this episode. The Trump Administration went to war and never thought about what came next People have turned hating things into content and their entire personality. Being a Hater is fine if you're self aware of that. If 40% of the country is going to continue to be a weight against progress, we'll continue to drown. Radical change doesn't come on a 60-40 split Can you explain your stupid thing with two questions...then you need to stop We've turned college into a just a way to get debt while people hope and pray they get a degree that makes them a lot of money instead of focusing on learning and making you a well rounded human being Gambling makes everything worse Kriss almost ruins Tom Holland's career Guest: Dpalm @dpalm66.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? The Prediction Market Bros are Fighting People are using chatbots for legal advice during active cases and it's screwing them over The majority demographic in America, regardless (or should i say irregardless now...) of political affiliation can't be trusted in politics Why is it that "white working class voters" need an economic message spelled out to them but every other demographic seems to understand the assignment? It's All Fake - Insanity Check
We're back with a new Insanity Check episode with Ro. Fawn Weaver is going to Shark Tank because...why not? There's no need for "nuance" in the BAFTA debacle because it's very clear what happened and why it shouldn't have A.I. companies are using your chat data to train their models. OpenAI lowers it's spending on compute target by 50%. It's still a fake number Anthropic vs the Department of Defense...can they both lose? "You have to trust your military to do the right thing" is a crazy thing to say but especially right before the Trump administration starts attacking Iran without Congressional approval "A.I. safety" isn't about the potential of A.I. becoming Skynet but rather the standards and testing of automation based on A.I to make sure things are secure and don't break. A.I. can't and won't do the autonomous warfare crap these people are thinking up but it can still do a lot of damage because dumbasses believe it can Guest: Ro @bookblerd.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Insanity Check: Selling Your Soul Is the New Fad
We're back with a new Insanity Check episode with guest, Dpalm (Host of the Unanimous Decision podcast). This is a short episode where Kriss and Dpalm spend some much needed time asking the question of "Why is everyone being stupid?". From the insanity that is sports betting and "predictive markets" (i.e. gambling on every thing) to the Epstein file stating what everyone really already knew (the world's richest men manipulating public opinion on things that could challenge their power) to every day people selling their souls for a quick dopamine hit with A.I. slop. People know better and need to do better. The Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo is now a Kalshi shareholder, which is the obvious and logical next step for Sport's maddening decent into gambling. What could possible go wrong? Hobart, Indiana's deal with Amazon for a data center is a perfect example of why these data center deals are bad. In exchange for investing virtually nothing back into the city, Amazon gets decades of no taxes. Remember when copyright laws applied to everyone? Well apparently that doesn't count for A.I. companies. For example, "Project Panama" where Anthropic scanned and then destroyed millions of books without permission in order to train their models Guest: Dpalm @dpalm66.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear? Insanity Check: Don't Believe Your Lying Eyes
Take a week off only for ICE to execute another person in Minneapolis. Topics for the show: The media may finally be waking up and starting to do their job. Dana Bash pressed Greg Bovino on the murder for Alex Pretti and it did not go well for Bovino Full Interview Bovino did so poorly on the Bash interview, he scrambled to do a press conference that resulted in him also being pressed by the media and him having to quickly leave Full Press Conference Also, turns out what we predicted was right and Bovino's claim about the man they were after was also full of lies as well DHS and the Trump administration continue to use abuser language "Just do what we say. You're making us hurt you" As a Black person it's okay to have conflicting feelings right now as we watch white people and the media finally come to the realization of what the government and law enforcement does but that it took two white people to be killed instead of listening when this was happening to black people It's not just awaken at home but we're watching foreign leaders also realize that it's time for a change. The Final Humiliation - Insanity Check
Two weeks in and 2026 is already showing it's ass. We've now reached the part of the program where the Administration is now shooting white women in the face and lying about it like police do when they kill an unarmed Black person. And people (not Black people. We tried to tell them) are shocked. Things are going swell. Kriss is joined by Justin and Brandon to discuss topics from the shooting in Minneapolis to the dangers and stupidity of A.I. Topics for the show: Multiple videos and analysis show what happen to Renee Good and yet the administration is just flat out lying to everyone's face about what happened (much like police do when they shoot Black people) JD Vance has nothing better to do than do a press conference to tell all of us not to believe our lying eyes The people telling us we need to just accept A.I. seem to believe we'll just "figure it out" when nothing in history shows that The people in charge of A.I. are the worst people we know and nothing about what they're doing is about the benefit of humanity Guest: Justin and Brandon @ljay90.bsky.social‬ @phenomblak.bsky.social‬ Like what you hear?
