Horror Hyperfixations - Employee of the Dead with Aaron Truss, Ellie-Rae Winstone and Nick Helm

I am SO excited to see Employee of the Dead! When I first heard director Aaron Truss and some of the cast talk about the film, I knew I had to get involved and support the crowdfunding however I could. It turned out that not only are they a lovely bunch of people, who are as passionate about indie film as me, they are also a bunch of neurodivergent legends! No wonder I instantly got good vibes! Employee of the Dead is crowdfunding on Kickstarter now, with some amazing perks. Please back the project if you can and share on socials! Horror Hyperfixations - Martin with David Sodergren

Hooray for the 50th episode of Horror Hyperfixations! David Sodergren joined me to talk about George A. Romero's Martin and whether we think Martin is a perfect allegory for autism. I didn't mean to sound so dramatic about editing some stuff out of the episode. It's not a big deal, just some personal stuff I didn't want to leave in :) Content warning: discussion of suicide, sexual assault and murder. Horror Hyperfixations - Horror Theatre with Mike Leitch

Talking to my friend Mike about horror theatre was an absolute joy! We talked about some of our shared favourites, plays that I ABSOLUTELY HATED and why we think horror on stage is so effective. Full disclosure, my intro to this episode is quite teary and sad. I fully understand if you don't want to hear that bit, so please skip to about 4 minutes in, when my chat with Mike starts. I missed it in my new intro, but content warning - there is mention of a play being "a suicide note". There is no further discussion around this, but wanted to let you know :) Socials Mike - @AnAutisticGuideThroughHorror / An Autistic Guide Through Horror blog Mike on The Geek Show, talking about Little Shop of Horrors An Autistic Horror Canon : Martin (1977, written and directed by George A. Horror Hyperfixations - Chatting with Jason Mohammed about Wales and Welshness

I had the pleasure of chatting to the brilliant Jason Mohammad last week, while attending a podcast masterclass with the Jason Mohammad Academy and Screen Alliance Wales. We love a side-quest and we know I bloody love talking about being Welsh. It was such an awesome opportunity and I learned loads! I recorded in a proper studio for the first time, with a two camera set-up and separate audio track. A new editing challenge for me. Unfortunately, it was so hot that the cameras overheated at different points, so I’ve popped some stills in 🙈 I love talking to people about being Welsh and we had the most brilliant chat about Welsh cakes, siarad cymraeg, our favourite beaches, identifying fellow Welshies in the wild and whether Caroline Street is Chippy Lane. Shout-outs to Cardiff Bakestones for their Welsh cakes, Haven’t They Done Well? for the brilliant question I pinched from and WhoCult and Chapter for my imaginary perfect Welsh day. Horror Hyperfixations - The Belladonna with Javid Rezai and Stella Talpo

The lovely Javid Rezai and Stella Talpo, Director and Producer and star of new "psycho-glitter" short The Belladonna joined me for a chat. We talked about Javid and Stella making movies together from the age of 7, a shared love of Paris Hilton (HONESTLY, the venn diagram of horror fans and Paris lovers is wild!) and ensuring a production remains authentic. A female-led, queer, indie horror film will always get my attention and it's a genuinely beautiful, moving short. Keep an eye out for it at a film festival near you! Horror Hyperfixations - Cryptids with Charley Errington

Join me and Charley Errington live, laugh, lurking in the woods as we get curious (and thirsty 😏🥵) about cryptids. We talk about folklore and fairytales, mythical (or are they?!) monsters and the importance of neurodivergent friendships. Sorry! Horror Hyperfixations - The Evil Dead franchise with Loucifer

It doesn’t take long for me and Loucifer to get absolutely feral 🤣 We were supposed to be talking about the Evil Dead franchise, but we spent a lot of time talking about being in a “daddy era”, getting jacked and picking me up, hot Santas and how nice it would be to be a walrus. We did talk about Evil Dead a smidge though - I love how much Lou loves it 🥰 (Recorded back in April, hence vague on Evil Dead Burn info!) Horror Hyperfixations - Captured Souls with Chris Collier

Captured Souls is an incredible documentary, that I fell in love with at FrightFest last year. I had the pleasure of chatting to the film's director, Chris Collier, about his documentary films, my love of split diopter shots (I forgot to mention in the intro how fucking STOKED I was at how many split diopter shots there were in Lee Cronin's The Mummy!) and Graham Humphreys' incredible career. Horror Hyperfixations - Chronic illness and body horror with Sick Girl Films

The brilliant Olivia and Lucy from Sick Girl Films joined me to talk about their upcoming fundraising event, the Sick Girl Party, in London on Saturday 9th May. Horror Hyperfixations - Broken Bird with Joanne Mitchell

I chatted with Joanne Mitchell about her debut feature, Broken Bird. It's a gorgeous film that's dark, emotional, funny and disturbing - I absolutely love it. We talked about turning the short, Sybil, into a feature, women in horror and the depiction of mental health in the film. Horror Hyperfixations - A Hand to Hold with Philip Clyde-Smith and Eliza Power

I chatted to Eliza Power and Philip Clyde-Smith, the writer and director of new comedy horror short A Hand to Hold. We talked about "grief porn", working with Frances Barber and favourite 80s horror movies. Moira, an elderly Irish woman, finds herself literally attached to her deceased husband Patrick. When his hand refuses to let go after death, it leads to increasingly grotesque events. Everyone in the couple’s orbit, from their daughter to the local doctor, a farmer, a priest, and a Satanist, all try to intervene with horrific consequences. 'A Hand to Hold' blends horror with pitch-black Irish comedy, exploring themes of grief and toxic relationships. The film features an original score by Golden Globe nominated composer Brian Byrne. A Hand to Hold will be showing at the following film festivals. Keep an eye out, it's a wonderfully brilliant film!
