S02 - Dariana, "Are we hunters or gatherers?" What happens to the drafts that are stuck in the purgatory; Never to see the light
Together w/ Dariana we’re diving into the world of idea archiving, modern-day brain-frying methods & breaking the fourth wall. We started by categorising the types of drafts we generate during our work processes, and then we spiralled even more into how we store them and eventually toss them. Dariana is a person from Romania who is very conflicted by aesthetics and very attached to being a beginner. She is currently based in Bucharest, and her practice revolves around drawing. Recently, she merged from illustration to handpoking drawings on skin. Due to her predisposition to ocular migraines, she loves to take her time with a tool before switching. Loves patience. Her system orbits around experimental and whimsical drawings. She is very intentional with her practice, as she manages to bind her affinity for humble traditional drawing instruments with digital tools at hand in her pieces. Dariana and I got introduced through a mutual friend around the time I was setting the base for my Bachelor’s project. Meeting her gave me another perspective when it comes to exploring ideas. Even if ages have passed and mediums have changed, I remain impressed and excited by her work. From having fun to collaborating, we both get to offer new meanings to things and then, to meet on the astral plane and chill as molecules. 00:00 Intro by Tomi 00:11 Today's Topic 01:29 Meet Dariana 03:34 Thank yous 04:13 Spiralling with Dariana Dariana https://www.instagram.com/darimmica/ High Appetite Sessions https://highappetite.cntrl.site/w/Dariana https://www.instagram.com/high.appetite.sessions/ Type in use : Authentic Sans by Christina Janus and Desmond Wong Megumi by Dave Rowland Type Intro by Tomi https://www.instagram.com/tomi_la_segue/ Concept & Graphics by Ștefania Varodi
