Modern workplace culture pressures us to multitask even though research shows multitasking makes most people less productive, more stressed out and worse at their jobs. Journalist and author David Epstein joins us talk about why we need to prioritize monotasking over multitasking. His latest book is called “Inside the Box: How Constraints Make Us Better.” Marsha Battle Philpot calls herself a "primordial Detroiter," and she knows the city and its history well. Her father, Joe Battle, opened a record store in 1945 and he recorded blues guitarist John Lee Hooker, the Baptist preacher reverend C. L.
