78 | Reclaiming Our Identity (Part 13): Find Out What God Driving Out of Your Life Before the Increase
Sometimes we spend all our energy begging God to change the circumstances around us, completely missing the fact that He is trying to transform something within us. In part 13 of Reclaiming Our Identity series, we are diving back into Exodus 33 to look at the inhabitants God promised to drive out of Israel's territory. But as I sat with this scripture, a game-changing question hit me: What if these inhabitants aren't just historical enemies? What if they reveal the invisible mindsets squatting on the territory of our own hearts, keeping us from the abundant life promised to us? That question forced me to look under the hood of my own life, especially my years of wrestling with a deep-rooted poverty mindset. I used to think my financial struggles were just a math problem, a budgeting problem, or and not having enough. But God exposed a web of fear, scarcity, and survival defaults that were quietly hijacking my identity and my bank account. Maybe you are living that exact same story right now. You might be calling your fear "wisdom," your micromanagement "responsibility," or your survival habits "just the way life is." But the Father is inviting you today, to look at those spaces with Him today. This isn't about shaming you or listing your flaws; it’s about clearing out the baggage that doesn't align with His truth so you can finally step into your actual birthright as His daughter. Come sit with this one slowly, and ask the Father what He may be inviting you to see. 4 Key Takeaways Whatever has occupied territory does not define your identity. Fear, scarcity, rejection, control, and survival may have shaped parts of your story, but they do not get to tell you who you are. Your identity begins with what God says about you. Sometimes the deeper issue isn't the circumstance; it's the belief underneath it. God may use an ordinary struggle, a financial situation, a decision, or a season of waiting to reveal something deeper about the way you've learned to see yourself and Him. Reclaiming your identity means allowing the Father to remove what no longer agrees with His truth. There is no shame in discovering something God wants to change. The Father who reveals what has been occupying territory is also the Father who restores what belongs there. You don't have to rebuild your life from the identity that helped you survive. You can begin again from your identity in Christ, learning to move from survival toward stewardship, scarcity toward trust, fear toward faith, and old agreements toward truth.
